1 Guide to catching the bus to & from Musgrove Park Hospital Issue 1 Valid from March 2010
2 How to use this Guide This guide is designed to give basic details of the buses which serve Musgrove Park Hospital. For the full timetable information on these services please see the Public Transport Timetable for the Taunton & West Somerset Area which is available from Tourist Information Centres, Libraries or by contacting Transporting Somerset (see back page for details) From Taunton Town Centre If you are travelling from Taunton Town Centre see the details on page 7 for buses which serve Musgrove Park Hospital. These buses either depart from the Parade, the Bus Station or Castle Way. From elsewhere in Somerset The map on pages 3-4 shows the routes and major towns and villages served by buses which stop at Musgrove Park Hospital. The Summary of Bus s to/from Musgrove Park Hospital on pages 8-10 shows the places served and approximate frequencies for these routes. Using Slinky or Community Transport Details of Community Transport Groups that are available within Somerset are included on page 11. These groups may be available to transport customers who are unable to access Public Transport, please contact the group which covers your area for full details. English National Concessionary Travel Scheme Passes These passes are valid for free travel on all the local buses and the Taunton & Wellington SLINKY, which serve Musgrove Park Hospital, between hrs Monday to Friday 1
3 and all day at weekends and on Public Holidays. They also entitle holders to discounted travel on Community Transport. Hospital Information Please see the map on pages 5-6 and contact details on the back cover. For full timetable details on any of the services listed please contact: BT callers charged 10p per min plus 6p set-up fee. Mobile and other provider s charges vary. The Bus operator of the service you require - details on page 14. Transporting Somerset (details on the back of the leaflet) With sites to the west of the town at Silk Mills and the east at Taunton Gateway (on the A358 near Junction 25 of the M5), the Taunton Flyer gives people an accessible and affordable alternative to driving to Musgrove Park Hospital. Buses run at frequencies of between 7 & 12 minutes and stop at Somerset College which is approximately a 5 minute walk to/from Musgrove Park Hospital. Please note English National Concessionary Travel Scheme Passes are not valid on this service. Details correct at time of printing 2

13 Taunton & Wellington Slinky What is the SLINKY? The SLINKY is an accessible bus service funded through Somerset County Council. How does it work? Journeys need to be booked in advance, usually with a minimum of 24 hours notice. You register to use the service when you make your first booking, call the booking number, agree your pick-up and drop off points and times. Who can use the SLINKY? Anyone who does not have access to their own vehicle or Public Transport, can use the service. People who use the SLINKY range from parents and toddlers, students, teenagers to the retired. How much does the SLINKY cost? Please call the booking line for ticket prices. English National Concessionary Travel Scheme Pass holders can travel free of charge after 9am Monday - Friday & all day on Saturdays. The County Ticket is also valid for travel at all times.
