5 5 BELFAST visitbelfast.com +44 (0) Core Purpose To create & service visitors for Belfast in order to generate economic benefit for the whole city Mission Belfast will by 2020 be in the top 15 performing tourism cities as measured by the annual European cities marketing benchmarking report Top 15 European Tourism City Top 100 World Association Conference City Top 5 UK Conference City Visit Belfast Background information Founded in 1999, Visit Belfast (formerly Belfast Visitor and Convention Bureau) is a public private sector partnership funded and supported by Belfast City Council, Tourism Northern Ireland (formerly Northern Ireland Tourist Board) and the private sector. It is the official tourism marketing agency for the Belfast City Region, dedicated to promoting Belfast as a city break, conference and cruise ship destination. It is also responsible for the operation of three gateway tourist information centres. Visit Belfast represents over 500 tourism businesses and services across the industry including accommodation providers, attractions, conference venues and services, tour operators, transport providers, entertainment venues, restaurants and cafes, pubs and clubs and event organisers. It provides an extensive range of marketing platforms for tourism businesses to promote their products and services to travel trade and consumers. In marketing Belfast as a world class destination, we are keen to work with businesses that reflect the best of what the city has to offer potential visitors. Location Visit Belfast s head office and the Visit Belfast Welcome Centre (VBWC) are located at: 9, Donegall Square North, Belfast, BT1 5GB. Visit Belfast also operates Visitor Information Centres (VICs) at George Best Belfast City Airport (GBBCA) and Belfast International Airport (BIA) and pop up information desks off-site i.e. on cruise ships or during events. Travel both inside and outside the UK may form part of your job.

8 8 BELFAST visitbelfast.com +44 (0) VISIT BELFAST POSITION GUIDELINES POSITION: DEPARTMENT: REPORTING TO: SALARY RANGE: Marketing and Campaigns Executive (Maternity Cover Minimum 6 Months) Marketing and Communications Department Marketing and Campaigns Manager 19,632 to 22,097 (Pro-Rata) PURPOSE: Reporting to the Marketing and Campaigns Manager, you will be supporting the delivery of tactical marketing and advertising activity, promoting Belfast as a top European tourism destination in line with the marketing strategy and objectives as set out in Visit Belfast s (VB) annual Business Plan. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Assist the Marketing and Campaigns Manager with campaign planning and the development and co-ordination of marketing and advertising campaigns in selected markets including Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Great Britain and Europe. 2. Actively contribute to the implementation and delivery of integrated marketing and advertising campaigns, working directly with campaign partners and external agencies. 3. Support the Marketing and Communications Manager in securing commercial partner income streams through the development of joint marketing and communications initiatives with VB partners, industry and other relevant partners in respect of VB s advertising and promotional campaigns. 4. Responsible for developing and generating promotional packages from Visit Belfast partners for campaigns and promotional platforms which include competitions, sales promotions, web-based and digital offers/discounts. 5. To liaise with accommodation providers to develop experiential packages and rates for marketing campaign purposes as required. 6. Assist the Marketing and Campaigns Manager in the administration of the management of the advertising and campaigns budget. 7. To deputise for the Marketing and Campaigns Manager at events and meetings on occasion and as appropriate and to deliver updates as required.
9 9 BELFAST visitbelfast.com +44 (0) Assist with maintaining and updating centralised and department activity and evaluation reports/schedules to demonstrate progress against KPIs and measure set objectives for campaigns. Complete regular monitoring reports as required. 9. Responsible for the administration and maintenance of detailed and accurate campaign files, including budget administration and evaluation records as required. 10. Support the wider team in the development and maintenance of effective working relationships with Visit Belfast s partners, sponsors and the industry as appropriate. 11. Assist with the collation and provision of timely information to stakeholders as required in support of marketing activities. 12. Ensure comprehensive Belfast and Northern Ireland product and campaign knowledge is fully developed and maintained keeping abreast of all new products, initiatives, events and festivals. 13. Represent and be an ambassador for the Belfast brand, its essence and values and implement accordingly within all tourism communications and marketing promotions. 14. To communicate effectively with other Visit Belfast departments to ensure integrated activity and consistency of information across the organisation. 15. To undertake other duties as required by the Marketing & Campaigns Manager. OTHER: 1. To undertake work out of normal office hours as required. 2. To carry out all duties with full regard to Visit Belfast s equal opportunities and fair employment policies. 3. Travel on behalf of Visit Belfast is an essential part of the job. 4. Clean driving license and access to car for work purposes is desirable. 5. To undertake any other duties as required by Visit Belfast.
10 10 BELFAST visitbelfast.com +44 (0) PERSONNEL SPECIFICATION: Essential Criteria Qualifications Third level qualification, or equivalent, in a relevant discipline such as Marketing, Communications, Tourism etc Desirable Criteria CIM Membership / Recognised marketing or digital marketing diploma Relevant Experience Minimum 2 years experience in a marketing or advertising campaigns environment. Proven track record of commercial sales activity. Experience of marketing activity across a variety of traditional marketing platforms and new media channels. Experience of digital marketing such as websites, social media and marketing. Experience working with/managing advertising and design agencies/teams. Experience working customers (partners) and external consumers (visitors). Experience in using Microsoft Office packages. Special Attributes Strong writing and communication skills. Analytical, planning and organisational skills. Monitoring and evaluation skills. IT literate and Internet capable. Decision making ability to make operational decisions in an effective manner to achieve objectives. Ability to work as an effective team member. Ability to work in a fast paced environment Ability to meet deadlines and multi-task on a number of projects Circumstances Available to work outside normal hours. Willing to travel as required. Experience in the tourism/ hospitality sector. Experience in web based and digital platforms. Clean driving license and access to a car
