49 Oxford scope for a genuine transformation Oxford station today has a footfall of around 7m per annum and growth is constant for all train operators Really important station for Great Western but constrained East-West Rail is a genuine game-changer the station becomes a major rail-rail interchange as well as station for the city and the route becomes a genuine main line again The Masterplan work so far is inspirational after a careful build a station truly fit for the status of the city will emerge The current station is far too small and a pain to operate - if Oxford was in Europe it d have an eight platform station with facilities to match. And it hides behind the Said

50 So, on behalf of our customers.. As station operator we have been engaged with Network Rail, Oxford and Oxfordshire councils since the start on the track and signalling changes and the Station Masterplan We have sought to overcome the constraints of the station, particularly for its new role as major passenger interchange and as a gateway to Oxford The trail to the train needs to be, and can be, transformed We seek to really engage with customers during the changes
