1 2018 Holiday Schedule Last updated Aug. 24, 2017 As part of My Rewards, Zimmer Biomet provides 12 paid holidays each year (or an approximate equivalent for non-exempt production Team Members whose regular workday schedules exceed eight hours). Certain holidays are fixed (provided every year) and others may be designated (scheduled for all Team Members at a location based on the calendar for that particular year). Team Members may use the remaining, undesignated floating holiday time when they like, subject to scheduling requirements and with management approval. Policy highlights: Full-time Zimmer Biomet Team Members will receive holiday pay. Part-time Team Members, interns and contingent workers are not eligible for holiday pay. A Team Member with an unexcused absence on the workday immediately before or immediately after a fixed or designated holiday forfeits eligibility for holiday pay, whether or not the Team Member is allowed to use paid time off (vacation, PTO or a floating holiday) to cover the unexcused absence. Team Members who are on leave status immediately before and after the holiday(s), other than those taking Family and Medical Leave concurrent with paid time off as required by Company policy, will not receive holiday pay but may be eligible for leaverelated pay covering the holiday. Team Members who would not normally be scheduled to work on the day when a holiday falls will not receive pay for that day, but will still receive the equivalent of 12 paid holidays over the course of the year. Eligible non-exempt Team Members who are required to work on Company-designated fixed or floating holidays, based on business needs, will be paid for hours worked according to the applicable local Overtime or Overtime/Premium pay policy unless the Team Member receives an alternate day off within the calendar year, in which case pay would be at the regular rate. Floating holiday policy For floating holidays that are taken at the Team Member s discretion: Floating holidays must be scheduled with the prior approval of the Team Member s supervisor. Scheduling request determinations will take into account the need to avoid business disruption. Floating holidays must be taken in increments of one-half of a day, except when used concurrently with Family and Medical Leave in accordance with Zimmer Biomet s FMLA policy, if otherwise required by applicable state law, or if a different increment has been adopted for the business unit or work site. Team Members will not be compensated for unused floating holidays upon termination of employment, unless otherwise required by applicable state law. Unused floating holidays cannot be carried over from one calendar year to the next, unless otherwise required by applicable state law. A non-exempt Team Member with no available PTO may apply a floating holiday to an absence that would otherwise qualify as PTO to receive pay, but may receive points under the attendance policy for the unplanned absence. 2 Newly hired Team Members are immediately eligible to receive pay for any designated holidays at their locations that would otherwise be floating holidays. Newly hired Team Members are eligible for undesignated floating holidays during the first calendar year of employment based upon the calendar quarter of hire and the total number of undesignated floating holidays (if any) for the work location. Refer to the Holiday, Vacation and PTO policy or ask your Human Resources representative or manager about your specific location and eligibility. California locations: Earned and Unused Vacation Team Members whose primary worksite is in California and who have unused vacation and/or floating holiday time at year end will not forfeit that time. Up to six unused days will carry over. Additional unused days will be paid out in January of the following year.
