1 SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS Regular Session i June 22, HIGHWAY MATTERS A. U.S. ROUTE 58 CORRIDOR STUDY Last year, VDOT commissioned the Route 58 Corridor Study to develop a planning level document which provides a technical review and analysis of the Route 58 business corridor, including the 3-mile section west of Old Bridge Road to the east of Camp Parkway, as well as areas near Southampton High and Middle School(s). The study will consider the impacts of future growth and development and serve as a planning tool to assist Southampton County and VDOT in identifying and developing strategies necessary to support anticipated traffic growth and economic vitality throughout the study area. The Study is nearing its midpoint, and I ve invited representatives from VDOT and Kimley Horn (VDOT s consultant) to share their findings to date with the Board. They ve also scheduled a public meeting next week (6/29) to share this information with property owners along the corridor as well as other interested citizens and to obtain their feedback. B. MONTHLY CONCERNS Please come prepared to share any highway concerns that exist within your respective districts.
