A stunning island of breathtaking natural beauty, fascinating history, rich culture, fabulous cuisine and a mesmerising coastline of over 1,000km; Corsica is sure to capture the heart of all that set foot on its shores. Despite being the closest Mediterranean island to the UK, with a flight time of just over two hours, Corsica remains something of a mystery to most. Sitting some 160km off the French coast and 80km from Italy, Corsica is geographically tuned to Italy, but it s France who governs it, ensuring that the island presents a unique blend of French and Italian characteristics, though the people and the places that define Corsica most definitely retain a unique and distinct personality. Laid-back and with a lack of pretention, Corsica is one of the most wonderful and rewarding islands in the Mediterranean. It s steeped in tradition, with the culture bearing witness to the island s often turbulent past, perhaps a reason why Corsicans are such proud, generous and free-spirited people. The rich and chequered history of Corsica manifests itself around every corner, presented in the form of some fascinating architecture, unique polyphonic singing and an abundance of festivals throughout the year. One of the biggest draws for those visiting Corsica is its glorious coastline, home to close to 200 beaches. Thanks to the island s diverse landscapes, there s a real variety of coastline to visit too. From secluded coves and vast sandy bays, to dramatic seascapes like the plunging red granite pinnacles of the west coast and the dazzling white cliffs of Bonifacio; each mile of Corsica s coastline holds new treasures and surprises. Inland, you ll discover scenes just as dramatic as those around the coast, one of the reasons why around a third of the island is designated national park. Home to the highest mountains and greatest number of rivers of any Mediterranean island, the highest peaks reach nearly 3,000m, with around twenty peaks over 2,000m. Corsica is cut by deep gorges, dissected by cascading streams and surrounded by fragrant pine forests that cover the mountains, providing the perfect playground for adventurers and outdoor sport enthusiasts of all levels. So, whether you re looking for a traditional family beach holiday, a self-drive holiday discovering the breathtaking mountain scenery, a romantic break right in the heart of an atmospheric citadel, or a more energetic, activity-filled experience Corsica has something for everyone. Let us share our passion and love for this astonishing place with you; we ve hand-picked a great range of Corsican properties for you to choose from, as well as put together a wide selection of tailor-made holidays to best help you explore the diversity of this quintessentially Mediterranean island. Becky Danielle Alison OUR CORSICA PRODUCT TEAM: Stacey, Marketing My Corsica highlight has to be the town of Porto Vecchio in the south. Up on the hill there are cobbled squares and busy cafés, loads of shops and really great restaurants, some of which have beautiful views over the marina. Alastair, Marketing I love the wild and rugged expanses that Corsica seems to boast at every turn. I spent a day driving around Cap Corse during a stay in St Florent where I was met by secluded hilltop villages, deserted sandy bays and age-old fishing villages, and not another tourist in sight. Rosie, Sales I loved the ever-changing landscapes. It blew my mind that you could be in the mountains and then in just a short drive with the most magnificent views, you could be down at a fabulous white sand beach. Tasked with the formation of our diverse, extensive and exciting Corsica holiday programme for 2019, our Corsica Product Team are responsible for curating our fantastic property classifications, hand-picking each and every addition to our collection and scouring the most rewarding corners Charlotte Product Manager of the island in which to base a holiday. The team also manage everything from our flight timetables through to our walking holiday itineraries, ensuring you have plenty of choice and flexibility when it comes to booking your Corsican escape. Joanne Product Executive Jon Senior Contracts Manager Maxine, Trade Jon, Contracting Louise, PR I love the beaches in Corsica, especially in L lle Rousse. The crystal-clear water is calm and gently shelved, perfect for when you have little ones. Taking in the main sights as I travel across Corsica is always rewarding, but a real treat is occasionally taking the road less travelled and stumbling upon things I would otherwise never have seen. Ask yourself I wonder what s down here? In Corsica you ll invariably be surprised! I just love Corsica s laid-back chic pretty squares, narrow streets, historic buildings, welcoming restaurants, delicious food and stunning beach and mountain vistas a highlight being the train journey from east to west showcasing the island s wild and lush interior and mesmerising coastline. 6 For more information or to book online visit corsica.co.uk Call the Corsican experts on

Inhabited for millennia, the various settlers have left their mark on the landscape, from the standing stones of Filitosa to the Genoese towers on each headland, making this an area rich in historical interest. 7 OUR TOP 10 PLACES IN CORSICA With natural beauty, fascinating traditions, stunning beaches and authentic villages, Corsica is an intriguing and rewarding island to explore for all holidaymakers. Over the years, we ve fallen more and more in love with the Island of Beauty, so we re delighted to share our top 10 places with you. THE BEACHES With close to 200 beaches, Corsica is immediately a beach lover s paradise. From intimate hidden coves, shaded and gently shelving beaches to some truly magnificent bays, whether you re looking to travel with a partner, children or want to get stuck into a water sport or two, there s something perfect for you. Some of the island s most renowned beaches include the sweeping bays of Calvi and L Ile Rousse in the north, and Palombaggia, Pinarello and Cupabia beaches in the south. LES CALANCHES DE PIANA AND SCANDOLA The coast of the Gulf of Porto is one of Corsica s most famous landscapes, and rightly so. With dramatic sculpted red rock and sweeping bays, it has to be seen to be believed. The pinnacles and ravines of the red granite calanches soar out of beautiful blue seas framed by the jagged peaks of Paglia Orba. Further north, you ll find Scandola, one of the largest natural sites in Europe, which displays stacked slabs, towering pinnacles and gnarled, claw-like outcrops of rock, which were formed by volcanic eruptions from millions of years ago. The colours are remarkable, showcasing everything from charcoal grey to incandescent reds and rusty purples. Look for accommodation in the northwest of the island for the easiest access to this area. Holiday in L Extrême Sud, la Balagne or the west coast for access to the best beaches. L lle Rousse CAP CORSE Found north of Bastia and St Florent and often referred to as an island within an island, Corsica s Cap Corse is a wild and rugged peninsula, its history setting it apart from the rest of the island. Providing access to some exceptionally beautiful and unspoilt stretches of coast, along with villages perched on cliffs, secluded rocky inlets and tiny fishing ports, enjoy coastal walks or take a day to drive around the cape and discover landscapes of astounding beauty at your own pace. THE PERCHED VILLAGES OF LA BALAGNE Time seems to be held in suspension in the hills of la Balagne, and a visit to these beautiful hilltop villages is a must if you plan to stay in the north. Clinging to mountains above the sea, they provide a window into traditional Corsican life whilst affording some spectacular viewpoints. Wander the narrow, cobbled streets, winding around pretty churches and small local cafés. Best explored from holidays in Calvi and la Balagne region. THE DÉSERT DES AGRIATES Situated between la Balagne and St Florent, the Désert des Agriates is an area of wild natural beauty. Highlights include the deserted beaches of Saleccia and Loto, boasting pearl-white sand and crystal-clear water. Another beach worth visiting is Ostriconi, a back-to-nature beach at the mouth of the river Ostriconi. Book your accommodation in either la Balagne or St Florent for the best access to this area. Desert des Agriates and Ostriconi Beach Best explored from accommodation located in St Florent and the North East. 12 For more information or to book online visit corsica.co.uk Call the Corsican experts on

8 THE RUGGED BEAUTY OF THE SOUTH-WEST COAST Due to the nature of the landscape, many of Corsica s beaches are hidden coves accessible only on foot or by boat. Some of our favourite coastal stretches include the Gulf of the Valinco, Campomoro-Tizzano and the Gulf of Roccapina further south. Look out for properties situated in Olmeto, Propriano and Figari if you want to explore these coastal stretches. THE DRAMATIC BAVELLA MASSIF Drive inland from Porto Vecchio high up into the Bavella Massif, an area of outstanding beauty towering over the Gulf of Porto Vecchio. Formed of granite needles and dense forests, the views are genuinely jaw-dropping, so perhaps unsurprisingly, the opportunities for walking and outdoor pursuits are aplenty. We recommend exploring the crystalline rock pools of Purcaraccia and the waterfalls of Piscia di Gallo. Stay in the south east of the island in Lecci or Porto Vecchio to be within an hour s driving distance. THE FORTRESS TOWN OF BONIFACIO Sitting upon a limestone throne at the far south of the island, Bonifacio is a beautiful and majestic old town. Its citadel walls and ancient houses appear to rise seamlessly out of the sheer cliffs, and beneath it lies a natural harbour along with a series of grottoes and coves. Wander the harbourside restaurants and shops, or for the best vantage points of the town, walk along the cliffs to the Pertusato lighthouse or jump on a boat and take in the beauty of the cliffs from the sea. Explore accommodation in L Extrême Sud for easy access to Bonifacio. RESTONICA AND TAVIGNANO GORGES The central region of Corsica offers some beautiful rugged landscapes, and close to the town of Corte (around 85km inland from Calvi), you ll find two of the most spectacular glaciermoulded gorges in the Med, the Restonica and the Tavignano. Echoing with tumbling rivers, rock pools and forests of enormously tall Corsican pines, they each provide the perfect spots for outdoor activities including wild swimming, walking, canyoning or rafting. If you re keen to explore Corsica s interior on foot, see our walking holidays on pages Central Corsica is easily reached by car from la Balagne or St Florent within an hour and a half, or alternatively explore by foot. Jon Ingall Shutterstock LAVEZZI ISLANDS Found between Corsica and Sardinia and easy to reach by boat, the archipelago of Lavezzi is made up of 10 small islands, boasting several secluded beaches, coves and naturally formed pools. Keen divers will be in their element here, but they re also the perfect destination for a day of blissful relaxation. Hop on a boat from Bonifacio to discover these islands. 14 For more information or to book online visit corsica.co.uk Call the Corsican experts on

AIR-CONDITIONING AND HEATING If air-conditioning or heating is available at a property, it s usually included in our holiday price and listed within the property description. However, at a few properties air-conditioning may only be booked and paid for locally, if this is the case we ll advise you at the time of booking. As part of our Sustainable Tourism code we ask that air-conditioning should be used sensibly: windows and doors should be kept closed; the units should be turned off when guests leave the properties; and shutters and windows should be closed during the hottest part of the day to increase efficiency. BARBECUES If a property has a barbecue, it ll be mentioned in the property description, and in Premium villas we also provide charcoal and lighters. As the heat of the summer months can provoke fires, please use barbecues sensibly and note that in some areas, barbecues are actually prohibited at certain times due to heightened fire risks. BUILDING WORKS Whilst tightly controlled, resorts can experience some building work from time to time and we ll advise you prior to departure of any that we feel will impact on your holiday, as soon as we become aware. However, we re not always informed in advance of work carried out by third parties and have no control over their plans. We ll endeavour to find alternative accommodation for you, although in some cases, particularly in high season, this may not be possible. CLEANING Jon Ingall Shutterstock Our self-catering properties are cleaned for your arrival and bed linen, bath and hand towels are provided at the beginning of your stay. Premium villas are also cleaned midweek. We provide each of our properties with general cleaning products and we ask guests to do a minimal clean to include cleaning of surfaces, cleaning barbecue, clearing perishable food away and disposing of all rubbish, leaving all crockery washed up and put away before they vacate their property. Failure to do so may incur a charge for the additional cleaning required, which can be expensive. CLIMATE Corsica has one of the highest sunshine records in France with an average of 2,793 hours a year. The island, as with the rest of the Mediterranean, is influenced by the winds with the temperature moderated by the mountains. In the early season the days are longer and the clear air means the sun can be very hot, although the sea won t warm up until early June. Average summer temperatures normally reach a very pleasant 25 C rising to 35 C in July / August with sea temperatures reaching their peak by mid-august. At the end of the season the days will be shorter, and the sea remains warm enough to swim comfortably until mid-october. COTS AND HIGHCHAIRS Highchairs and travel cots are provided free of charge in our self-catering properties if requested at the time of booking. Cots aren t supplied with linen so please remember to take your own. Cots and highchairs can also be requested for hotel bookings, please note a small supplement may apply. DÉCOR As properties are generally Corsican or French owned, the décor may reflect the local lifestyle and the owner s taste. A dining table and chairs can be given more priority than comfortable indoor chairs, as this is more in keeping with a Mediterranean outdoor lifestyle. Floors are generally not carpeted and curtains are often decorative with shutters used to block out the light. Simpler properties can have basic kitchen facilities so should you have any special requirements please let us know. DOCUMENTATION, PASSPORTS AND VISAS Tickets and travel documentation are sent out 14 days prior to departure. For travel to Corsica you will need a valid passport for all members of your family. If you are NOT a citizen of the UK, Ireland, another EU country, Switzerland, Canada or the USA, you may also need a visa (please contact the French Embassy for details). GETTING ABOUT Hiring a car is the best way to get out and about, giving you the freedom to explore the island at your leisure. Many coastal and mountain roads are narrow and winding, with very little room for manoeuvre and as a rule of thumb, 50km will take at least an hour. Outside July and August, the roads are less busy. As with the rest of the Mediterranean, other road users may seem to the UK driver to drive unpredictably. Public transport is limited on the island with the exception of the train from Bastia via Corte to Ajaccio, with a branch line from Ponte Leccia to L Ile Rousse and Calvi. Traditionally it s a boneshaker of a ride, the reason why the locals call it U Trinighellu the trembler. It s undoubtedly one of the highlights of the island, a must do with stunning panoramas that you just won t see from the car, as well as a useful means of getting about. Please note however, this service can occasionally be a little unreliable and departures times aren t always guaranteed. The mainline from Bastia to Ajaccio cuts through the heart of the mountains over viaducts and bridges through no less than 38 tunnels placing it among the world s top scenic railways. FLIGHT TIMES AND DELAYS Occasionally, despite the best efforts of all concerned, flights are delayed for reasons beyond our control. In the event of a lengthy delay we always do our best to provide refreshments when appropriate. Airlines and flight times are sometimes subject to changes beyond our control, in which instance we ll of course contact you as soon as we are advised. FOREIGN & COMMONWEALTH OFFICE ADVICE The Foreign & Commonwealth Office produces up-to-date travel information to help British travellers make informed decisions about travelling abroad. For more information please see HEALTH AND SAFETY The welfare of our customers is our prime consideration and we re committed to raising the standards of health and safety in our properties and to continue to identify areas where safety can be improved. General safety regulations do vary from country to country and are often less stringent than those that we have come to expect in the UK. Each property is unique and may have staircases, steps or drops and it s therefore important to be safety conscious. If you have any particular needs or concerns please let us know at the time of booking. HOLIDAY QUESTIONNAIRE To assist us in ensuring standards are maintained and to help us improve our service, we d be most grateful if you d take the time to complete our questionnaire online. You ll also have the opportunity to leave your feedback on FEEFO (an independent review body), and which may be featured on our website. HOTELS Hotels in Corsica are graded under the French star rating system. Breakfasts are often served (not buffet style) and are mostly continental with croissants, bread, jam and coffee. Half board menus are often set with less choice than a restaurant and tea and coffee-making facilities are not generally available in the rooms. HOTEL ROOM CHECK-IN The standard international practice is to let hotel rooms from midday to midday, however times do vary. Check-in times are usually between 2pm and 3pm, check-out times between 11am and 12 noon on the day of departure. INVENTORY Our self-catering properties include a minimum inventory to include such essentials as a kettle, iron and toaster. All larger electrical equipment e.g. television, washing machine etc are noted in the individual property descriptions. INTERNET ACCESS Internet access has become an increasingly important feature for our guests and as a result, most properties are now equipped with Wi-Fi this facility is indicated in the individual property descriptions. Please note internet coverage and speed of connection may differ from the one you have at home, and may at times be limited or unavailable as a result of issues with the local network, which is out of the control of the owners and ourselves. There s also a large number of cafés and restaurants across the island offering internet access. LANGUAGE Although the official language in Corsica is French, Corsican has always been recognised as an official regional language and is frequently used by the locals. You ll also spot that the road signs are in Corsican as well as in French. LINEN In self-catering properties, bed linen, bath and hand towels are provided on a weekly basis, and in most properties guests can expect beds to be made up on arrival. Beach towels are also provided in our Premium villas. For flight-inclusive bookings, beds will be made corresponding to the number of guests on the reservation please advise us before departure of any other requirements. For multiple week stays, clean linen will be delivered each weekend but the beds won t be made up, except in our Premium villas. Cot linen is not provided. LOCAL LIFE When our guests are on holiday the local population will be going about their daily business: rural or village properties may have farming activities, hunting or festivals going on nearby, over which we have no control. In villages and more rural areas there may be wild dogs and cats that wander around, guests are encouraged not to feed them as this will attract them to return to the property. 108 For more information or to book online visit corsica.co.uk Call the Corsican experts on

24 MONEY REQUESTS SMOKING As part of France, Corsica s currency is the euro, which has significantly fluctuated against sterling over the last few years. Credit/debit card payments are widely accepted but you should be aware that small shops outside the main towns might prefer cash. Few banks in Corsica accept Travellers Cheques and even fewer accept sterling. A holiday to Corsica may cost more than to some other islands in the Mediterranean, however with higher prices come fewer tourists and less development, which means it has retained its charm and unspoilt nature. Once on holiday you ll find a reasonable three course menu in most towns for around 25 (approx 22). Supermarkets offer a wide range of goods although you may find those not produced locally are more expensive than in the UK. OCCUPANCY All guests must be named on the booking; please advise us beforehand if you re planning to have additional friends or family joining you a supplement for extra linen and additional cleaning may be required. Any occupant whose name does not appear on the invoice will be charged locally. Maximum occupancy cannot be exceeded as the properties are only insured for a certain number of guests. PRICES AND SURCHARGES Our prices are calculated using the exchange rate of 1 = 1.12 and are also based on the cost of fuel as of 15th August If the value of the euro or the cost of fuel rise, then unfortunately we may need to introduce a surcharge to cover the increased costs to us. In the event of any other security costs or taxes being levied, there may also be an increase in prices printed in this brochure, please see section 12 of our Terms and Conditions for more details. If you have any requests for your holiday accommodation or flights, please ensure they are mentioned at the time of booking; we ll do our utmost but a request cannot be guaranteed. If additional items or services are requested that are not advertised, please be aware that we will not have inspected these facilities. RESORT FACILITIES We try to portray our holidays to represent the majority of the season during early and late season some resort facilities may be closed and in high season even the quietest towns and beaches may become busy. ROOMS Rooms in our individual properties differ and guests should note that no rooms are the same in terms of décor, style, size and position. Master bedrooms are considered superior to other bedrooms, so when choosing a property for a group of friends it s best to agree who will have the master suite before arrival. SECURITY DEPOSIT Some property owners require a security deposit to be paid in euros on arrival to cover any losses, damages, breakages or extra cleaning which may occur. If the property you ve chosen requires a local deposit you ll be advised of the amount at the time of booking. For other selfcatering properties you may be required to pay a security deposit in the UK, again we will advise at the booking stage. We ask guests to care for their holiday accommodation as if it were their own home and we require all guests to accept our travel insurance (which covers for some material damages) or make similar arrangements. We have a no smoking policy in all our accommodation and it s also forbidden to smoke in hired vehicles. Just as in the UK, a smoking ban in all public areas is in place across France. SUSTAINABLE TOURISM Corsicans are proud and passionate people who are keen to protect the environment and traditions of their island. We at Corsican Places share the same view and strive to protect their enchanting culture, beautiful landscapes and varied wildlife. We also have a carbon offset scheme which you can opt into. Please go to corsica.co.uk/carbonoffset-scheme for more information on the projects we support. HOLIDAY EXTRAS Airport hotels If you d like to stay in a hotel close to the airport prior to your departure flight we can book a range of 2 to 5 hotels with car parking, in conjunction with Holiday Extras. Airport lounges Start your holiday in style and avoid the crowds by upgrading to an air-conditioned lounge at the airport. These lounges usually provide complimentary drinks and snacks, newspapers, magazines and television. Airport parking We can offer airport parking with Holiday Extras which provides secure parking, both on and off-site, at our UK airports with 24 hour transfers where appropriate. Prices can increase with demand so please book early to secure the best prices Visit corsica.co.uk/holidayextras SWIMMING POOLS Swimming pool details such as size, shape and depth (where known) are given in the facilities section on the property pages on our website, please refer to this or call our team if you require further information and we will check with the owner. All pools have a security system in place: either an alarm, fence or cover as required by French law, but children should be supervised at all times. Pools are generally unheated in Corsica and are maintained and cleaned during your stay, although during high winds debris can appear in an otherwise clean pool. Weather permitting, pools are open from the start of May to the beginning of October. Heated pools are only available when listed in the relevant property description. The heating facility will only be available depending on the weather conditions and will not operate above 28 degrees to allow chemicals to work effectively. TELEPHONES Mobile phone coverage is very good in Corsica, with the exception of some more remote or mountainous areas. If you intend to use your mobile phone abroad please ensure that it s registered for international use. TELEVISION Corsican television signal broadcasting was recently converted to digital and as a result the quality of reception has been significantly improved. However, unless the property is equipped with a satellite decoder box and is subscribed to a superior service, there ll be no English language channels. TRAVEL INSURANCE Travel insurance is a vital aspect to booking a holiday, giving you protection against unforeseen circumstances that could otherwise spoil your holiday. VILLA MAINTENANCE Staff at some properties live on-site and tend to the grounds and pool. We ask our guests to allow them reasonable access to the property and grounds so these can be kept in good order. WILDLIFE Bodri beach Jon Ingall Shutterstock Corsica is a very natural and undeveloped island, and in country houses animals, birds and insects may be present around the house and occasionally living in inaccessible areas such as eaves and roof spaces. Mice and other field animals may also find their way into houses. Mosquitoes, ants and other insects are quite common in the warmer climates and we strongly advise guests not to leave any food uncovered, to deter stray rodents and animals. We would definitely use Corsican Places again, very easy, organised holiday and loved the island, accommodation and everything it has to offer. As this is a single component, the Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018 do not apply. We act as a booking agent only for excursions that you book with us either in the UK or in resort. If we are unable to provide the services listed (or a suitable alternative, through an alternative ATOL holder or otherwise) for reasons of insolvency, the Trustees of the Air Travel Trust may make a payment to (or confer a benefit on) you under the ATOL scheme. You agree that in return for such a payment or benefit you assign absolutely to those Trustees any claims which you have or may have arising out of or relating to the non-provision of the services, including any claim against us, the travel agent (or your credit card issuer where applicable). You also agree that any such claims may be re-assigned to another body, if that other body has paid sums you have claimed under the ATOL scheme. YOUR HOLIDAY BOOKING When making a booking you must be aged over 18 years and have the authority to accept and do accept on behalf of your party our terms and conditions. All correspondence and documents are sent to the party leader who is responsible to us for all payments in respect of the booking. The contract is made on the terms of the information in our brochure / on our website, the details set out in the confirmation invoice. We agree that the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction and English Law applies (unless you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in which case you can bring proceedings in your local court under Scottish or Northern Irish law, as applicable). Our confirmation invoice is our acceptance of the booking (as detailed therein), and the contract is made on its issue. We ask you to check the details and any anomaly should be reported to us or your travel agent immediately otherwise the details shown on the confirmation will be presumed to be correct. Verbal quotations should not be considered binding until the first invoice confirmation is received. All holidays and offers published are subject to availability at the time of booking. 2. PAYMENT If you wish to confirm a booking you must pay the deposit of 20% of the cost of your holiday. Your balance will be detailed on your invoice and must be paid in full no later than 8 weeks before your departure, or your booking may be deemed cancelled and your deposits retained. In the event, we need to book and pay for your flight at the time of booking, you will be quoted the cost of this before confirming your holiday and asked to pay for this sector in full, along with your deposit. It is at this time you will be advised whether the flight cost is non-refundable. If payment for your holiday is made by a commercial credit card a handling fee, currently 2%, will be levied. 3. IF YOU WISH TO CANCEL YOUR BOOKING You will need to let us know as soon as possible either by telephone or in writing (or must ensure your travel agent does so on your behalf). Since we incur costs from the time we confirm your booking, the cancellation charges set out below will apply, calculated from the date on which we receive your notice of cancellation. You will then receive a cancellation invoice detailing any charges. The charges above apply to your total holiday price excluding any insurance premiums, amendment charges or charges for goods sold and dispatched. Please note that charges may be higher than those shown where your travel arrangements have been confirmed to you as non-refundable. If the reason for your cancellation is covered under the terms and conditions of your travel insurance policy, you may be able to reclaim these charges. You can cancel your booking without paying cancellation charges if the performance of your package, or the carriage of passengers to your destination, is significantly affected by unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances. In such circumstances, we will arrange for your booking to be terminated and for you to receive a full refund. We will observe advice provided by the UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office. If any members of your party cancel, but the others still wish to travel, it may be necessary to re-calculate the cost per person based on the new party size as the accommodation may now be under-occupied. This may result in an increased amount per person payable to secure the original booking. You can transfer your booking to another person, who satisfies all the conditions that apply to this booking, by giving us notice in writing at least 7 days before departure. Both you and the new traveller are responsible for paying all costs we incur in making the transfer. 4. LOCAL INFORMATION We have taken all care to ensure the information we give regarding local festivals and events is accurate. We ask that should this be important to you, you thoroughly research your chosen area before booking. 5. CHARGES FOR NON-INCLUSIVE HOTEL ITEMS AND DAMAGES You enter into a separate contract with the hotel or residence for these items (e.g. parking, bar bills etc.), and agree to pay locally for any charges for items or services used by your party and not included in your holiday price. The accommodation we arrange for you can only be used by those people named on your Invoice. You are not allowed to share the accommodation with anyone else or let others stay there. 6. IF YOU REQUEST A CHANGE TO YOUR BOOKING If, after our confirmation invoice has been issued, you wish to change your travel arrangements in any way, for example your chosen departure date or accommodation, we will do our utmost to make these changes, but it may not always be possible. Any request for changes to be made must be made from the person who made the booking or your travel agent. You will be asked to pay an administration charge which will be advised at the time, and any further cost we incur in making this alteration. You should be aware that these costs could increase the closer to the departure date that changes are made, and you should contact us as soon as possible. Note: Certain travel arrangements may not be changeable after a reservation has been made and any alteration request could incur a cancellation charge of up to 100% of that part of the arrangements. 7. IF YOU BOOK THROUGH A TRAVEL AGENT We will assume that in dealing with us the agent is acting on your behalf in respect of any changes or cancellation to your booking. When you buy a flight-based holiday, all monies you pay to the travel agent are held by him on behalf and for the benefit of the Trustees of the Air Travel Trust at all times. This is subject to the agent s obligation to pay it to us for so long as we do not fail. If we fail, any money held at that time by the agent, or subsequently accepted from you by him, is and continues to be held on behalf of and for the benefit of the Trustees of the Air Travel Trust without any obligation to pay that money to us. When you buy a holiday not including a flight, all monies you pay to the travel agent are held by him on our behalf at all times. 8. IF WE CHANGE YOUR HOLIDAY Although it is unlikely, we may occasionally have to make a change to your holiday arrangements and we reserve the right to change or cancel your booking. Most changes are minor, and we will always endeavour to advise you or your travel agent of any such changes at the earliest possible date. Note: Any amendment or cancellation fees you incur in terms of other arrangements you have made with other providers under separate contracts are not claimable from us. Package Holiday & Flight Only: A change of airline, aircraft type, overseas airport of destination, travel timings by 12 hours or less and accommodation of a similar or higher standard in the same resort or region are classed as minor changes which do not entitle you to cancel or change to another holiday / flight without paying our normal administration charges, and for which no compensation or refund is due. The carrier may occasionally have to change the type of aircraft used on a flight without warning. In such circumstances where you have booked and paid an additional seat supplement and such seat cannot be provided, then you will receive only a refund of the supplement paid. Occasionally, we have to make a significant change to your travel arrangements or accommodation. A significant change is a change made before departure, which, on the basis of the information given to us by you at the time of booking we can reasonably expect will have a major effect on your holiday. The following changes are examples of major changes: changing travel times by over 12 hours, your UK departure airport (excluding London airports), your holiday region, a change to a lower standard or type of accommodation or reducing the number of days holiday. If we have to make a significant change or cancel your holiday we will tell you as soon as possible. Where possible, we will offer the following options: you can either a) accept the changed arrangements b) purchase another holiday from us at the advertised current selling price or c) cancel your booking upon which we will refund your monies in full and final settlement. Subject to the note below, if you choose to cancel and accept a refund, we will pay compensation as follows: Accommodation Only: If we make a change to your accommodation and you don t want to accept it, you can take any alternative we are able to offer you (you will pay the increase in cost if the replacement is advertised at a higher price than your original booking or receive a refund of the difference if it is less expensive) or a refund of the money you have paid to us. This does not apply where the change is not material. Examples of non-material changes include, but are not limited to, temporary withdrawal of facilities or seasonal unavailability of amenities. If we have to cancel your accommodation, again we may be able to offer you an alternative. If you accept it, you would pay the difference if it was advertised at a higher price than your original accommodation or receive a refund of the difference if it was advertised at a lower price. Or we will refund the monies you have paid us for your accommodation. We will not be responsible to pay any compensation following a change or a cancellation by us. Applicable to Package Holiday, Accommodation, Excursion or Flight only bookings: Note: If a change or cancellation occurs because of circumstances beyond our control, for example war, threat of war, riots, civil disturbances, actual or threatened terrorist activity and its consequences, industrial disputes, natural or nuclear disasters, fire, health risks, adverse weather conditions, hurricanes, floods, closure or congestion of airports or ports, epidemic or pandemic illness and all similar situations we will have no liability to you. No compensation payments, expenses or any other sums, including the cost of securing alternative accommodation will be paid by us. 9. ABTA We are a member of ABTA, membership number V5963. We are obliged to maintain a high standard of service to you by ABTA s Code of Conduct. We can also offer you ABTA s scheme for the resolution of disputes which is approved by the Chartered Trading Standards Institute. Further information on the Code and ABTA s assistance in resolving disputes can be found on You can also access the European Commission Online Dispute (ODR) Resolution platform at eu/consumers/odr/. This ODR platform is a means of notifying us of your complaint; it will not determine how your complaint should be resolved. Alternatively, AITO s Independent Dispute Settlement Service may be called upon by either side to bring the matter to a speedy and amicable solution, but please be aware this scheme is not registered by the ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution). 10. IF YOU HAVE A COMPLAINT In the unlikely event you have cause for complaint during your holiday, please inform the hotel or site management and our local representative. It is unreasonable for you to take little or no action and wait until you return to complain, and you must take reasonable steps to minimise the consequences of the problem. If you fail to follow this simple procedure we will have been deprived of the opportunity to investigate and rectify your complaint whilst you were in resort and this may affect your rights under this contract. If a problem cannot be resolved locally please follow this up in writing to our Customer Relations Department at our UK office, with any supporting evidence, within 28 days of your return from holiday. Please also see clause 9 above on ABTA. 11. However, we will not be liable where any failure in the performance of the contract is due to: you; or a third party unconnected with the provision of the travel arrangements and where the failure is unforeseeable or unavoidable; or unusual and unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control, the consequences of which could not have been avoided even if all due care had been exercised; or an event which we or our suppliers, even with all due care, could not foresee or forestall. Our liability will also be limited in accordance with and/or in an identical manner to: (a) The contractual terms of the companies that provide the transportation for your travel arrangements. These terms are incorporated into this contract; and (b) Any relevant international convention, for example the Montreal Convention in respect of travel by air, the Athens Convention in respect of travel by sea, the Berne Convention in respect of travel by rail and the Paris Convention in respect of the provision of accommodation, which limit the amount of compensation that you can claim for death, injury, delay to passengers and loss, damage and delay to luggage. We are to be regarded as having all benefit of any limitation of compensation contained in these or any conventions. If the contract we have with you is not performed or is improperly performed as a result of failures attributable to a third party unconnected with the provision of the services, or as a result of failures due to unusual and unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control, the consequences of which could not have been avoided even if all due care had been exercised, or an 15. TRAVEL SERVICES When you travel by air the relevant carrier s Conditions of Carriage will apply to your journey, some of which may limit liability or exclude liability in accordance with the relevant international conventions. Your right to a refund and/or compensation from us is set out in clause 8 if we change your holiday. If your airline does not comply with these rules you should complain to the Passengers Advice and Complaints team at the CAA ( passengercomplaints@caa.co.uk website TRAVEL INSURANCE It is a condition of booking that you must have comprehensive travel insurance and we would recommend that this also makes provision for any damage to your holiday accommodation and it s contents. If you require a quote, you may wish to contact travel specialists Travel & General on or visit their link on the insurance page of our website. 17. SPECIAL REQUESTS If you have a special request with your holiday arrangements you must discuss this with us at the time of booking. You must also promptly advise us if any medical condition or disability which may affect your holiday develops after your booking has been confirmed. Failure to do so may limit your rights under the Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations SEASONAL FACTORS AND FACILITIES Fewer facilities may be available for you on holiday at your accommodation or in the local area at the beginning or end of the season due to weather conditions or lack of support. This includes, but is not limited to, swimming pool opening, restaurant opening times and beach facilities. This is usually reflected in the lower season pricing and we cannot be held responsible for their lack of provision. You must also provide us with the confirmation from the insurance company of receipt of your notification to them of your claim. Excursions: Excursions or other tours that you may choose to book, which you pay for whilst you are on holiday are not part of your package holiday provided by us and your contract will be with the operator of the excursion or tour and not with us. We are not responsible for the provision of the excursion or tour nor for anything that happens during the course of its provision by the operator. Accommodation Only: We have a duty to select the accommodation providers with reasonable skill and care. We have no liability to you for the actual provision of the accommodation, except in cases where it is proved that we have breached that duty and damage to you has been caused. Therefore, providing we have selected the provider with reasonable care and skill, we will have no liability to you for anything that happens at the accommodation or any acts or omissions of the provider or others. We also have no liability in the following situations: i. where the accommodation cannot be provided as booked due to circumstances beyond our control (see the Note in clause 8) ii. where you incur any loss or damage that could not have been foreseen at the time of your booking, based on the information provided by you. iii. where you incur any loss or damage that relates to any business activity. iv. where any loss or damage relates to any services which do not form part of our contract with you. If we are found liable to you on any basis, we limit the amount we have to pay you to a maximum of three times the cost of your accommodation. This limit does not apply to cases involving death or injury. 12. YOUR RESPONSIBILITY You undertake to exercise reasonable care in respect of your holiday accommodation and its contents and to respect local and on-site regulations and to limit party numbers to those on your confirmation. In the event of substantial damage/abuse to your holiday accommodation, we reserve the right to ask you to leave and find alternative accommodation at your own cost. Some of our self-catering properties have a security deposit against them which you will be required to pay on arrival to cover against any breakages, damage, losses or extra cleaning. The amount will be notified to you at the time of booking and shown on your invoice. Should there be no security deposit, or this prove inadequate to fully cover any costs that arise, we reserve the right to invoice you for immediate payment. 13. PRICES AND SURCHARGES The price of your holiday was calculated using the exchange rate of 1 = We reserve the right to change your holiday price after you have booked, only in certain circumstances: Changes in the price of the carriage of passengers resulting from changes to the cost of fuel or other power sources, the level of taxes or fees imposed by third parties including tourist taxes, landing taxes or embarkation or disembarkation fees at ports and airports or exchange rates mean that the price of your travel arrangements may change after you have booked. Package Holidays There will be no charge within 20 days of your departure. We will absorb such increases up to 2% of your basic holiday price (excluding insurance premiums and any amendment charges). If the surcharge is greater than 8% of your holiday price you have the option of changing to another holiday that we offer (if we are able to offer an alternative you will not have to pay more, but if it is of a lower quality you will be refunded the difference in price) or you have the right to cancel (within 14 days of receiving surcharge notification), in which case we will refund in full all monies paid to us except insurance premiums and any amendment charges. Should the price of your holiday go down due to the changes mentioned above, by more than 2% of your holiday cost, then any refund due will be paid to you. However, please note that travel arrangements are not always purchased in local currency and some apparent changes will have no impact on the price of your holiday due to contractual and other protection in place. Accommodation and Flight Only We reserve the right to pass on all increases. If we ask you to pay us any increases in taxes, similarly, if any taxes you have paid to us are reduced or abolished, you will be entitled to claim a refund. Such right shall not apply in respect of any surcharge paid in respect of aviation fuel costs. 14. PRICING ERRORS Whilst every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of all the information and prices provided to you, regrettably errors do occasionally occur. In the event that an incorrect price has been given in error, any booking made based on this price, will not be valid. You will be advised of the mistake at the earliest opportunity and you will then have the option either to pay the correct price for the travel arrangements or to cancel and receive a full refund of any monies you may already have paid.
