2 Grantham Grantham is an attractive and historic Lincolnshire market town. The town is perhaps best known as being the birthplace of Margaret Thatcher and also where Sir Isaac Newton was educated. Grantham is situated approximately 23 miles east of Nottingham, 25 miles south of Lincoln and 110 miles north of London. The town is often referred to as The Gateway to Lincolnshire as it benefits from excellent road and rail links. The A1 lies approximately one mile to the west providing fast duel carriageway routes to the north and south, whilst it also lies on the A52 linking it to Nottingham in the west and Boston in the east. The town is an important interchange on the East Coast Main Line with services to London and Edinburgh. There are three services an hour at peak times to London Kings Cross with a fastest journey time of 1 hour 10 minutes. In 2013 Grantham was named as one of the best value commuter towns in the country by a Sunday Times/Savills Report. The resident population of Grantham is approximately 42,000 people (2011 Census), a 20% increase on the figure recorded in the 2001 Census, highlighting the growing popularity of the town as a commuter location.

3 Retailing in Grantham Grantham s prime shopping is focused on St Peters Hill, High Street and the Morrison s anchored Isaac Newton Shopping Centre which also has one of the towns main car parks (260 spaces). Location The George Shopping Centre occupies a prime position on the High Street having the unique benefit of additional frontages to Westgate and Guildhall Street. The centre is open for trading from 7.00am to 9.00pm Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 6.00pm on Saturday and 10.00am to 2.00pm on Sunday. However, for those units with independent access trading can take place outside these hours and hours of trading for the centre can be amended to suit an occupiers requirements. In addition to the onsite car park, parking is available on Westgate and at the Pay & Display Watergate Car Park within close proximity.
