2 The drive towards reducing energy consumption is a major objective for most building designers and to maximise natural lighting without the problems of glare or excessive solar heat gain. By selecting the most appropriate solar shading system for your projects you can achieve the functional performance whilst enhancing the aesthetic requirements of your building Reduced solar gain improves occupants comfort. Solar shading benefits Properly designed external shading can significantly reduce solar heat gain and minimise the use of mechanical cooling systems. Complementing solar shading with air conditioning or mechanical ventilation will reduce running costs and reduced CO2 emissions. When correctly position solar shading will reduce direct glare whilst allowing high levels of diffused (indirect) natural light, giving a further potential energy saving by reducing artificial lighting needs. External shading allows natural ventilation through opening windows, can provide privacy by shielding glazing and an uninterrupted view to the outside. Comfort conditions can be achieved using a combination of solar shading and night time cooling in buildings that suffer from overheating. 14 Vertical Applications BS80C Vertical 60 Product Details: BS80C-V60 is a fixed horizontal solar shading system with C blades Different blade support clips allow for 40, 45 & 50 shadow angles. 3 supporting mullions P036, P037 & P035 are available with specific fixing brackets T080 & T081. Type of facia profile is determined by mullion type. 80 Technical Details: - C-blade, mullion and blade supports manufactured from extruded aluminium alloy EN AW-6060 T66 (AlMgSi0,5 F22). - Fixings are from stainless steel. Finish: Mill finish aluminium. Anodised aluminium finish (20 micron) Polyester powder coating to BS EN ,2004 Marine Grade (60-80 micron), 20 year guarantee.
