Once this is received, the Certificate of Practical Completion will be issued and 50% retentions will be released. HDC 389: HDC 401 Hauraki District Council Area Wide Treatments Contractor: Contract Award Date Accepted Contract Price: Original Completion Date: Revised Completion Date: Projected Completion Value : Value of Work for Month Value of Work to Date: Carter Contractors (2004)Ltd 30 August 2011 $689, May May 2012 $689, $144, $144, The work included in this contract is area wide treatments on three separate roads within the Hauraki District Council roading network. The sites are: Site Work Sites Displacement 1 Pukekauri Road (near Waihi) RP 4800m 6506m (1706m) 2 Miranda Road (near Miranda) RP 9086m 9685m (599m) 3 East Coast Road (near Kaiaua) RP 10792m m (177m) Work comprises of clearing, fencing, minor earth works and pavement construction, cement stabilising and sealing of a WHAP65 aggregate overlay or make up metal with associated feather edge works. Carter Contracting 2004 Ltd, Waihi submitted the lowest tender price and passed when assessed against each of the non-price attributes and the tender was awarded on the 20 February. At the end of March the work completed is shown in the table below: Site Location Work Completed 1 Pukekauri Road (near Waihi) Fence relocated between 5500m and 5900m RHS Area between 5500m and 5680m cut down to sub grade level. Sub base placed and compacted between 5500m and 5680m. Culvert at 5615m installed. 2 Miranda Road (near Miranda) Roadside trees trimmed. 450mm culvert at 9550m extended and rock backfill completed. Shoulders undercut and backfilled. Pavement overlay partially completed 3 East Coast Road (near Kaiaua) Work not commenced. Page 3
4 3 NON-SUBSIDISED ROADING PROJECTS Footpath maintenance will continue through the various Wards 4 NETWORK CONTROL MANAGEMENT Customer Service Requests 77 Customer Service Requests (CSR) received for March was higher than the six monthly average of 56. They covered a variety of issues most of which are listed below. 20 CSR s related to an extensive lighting outage in Paeroa. Northpower have advised that a fault in the supply circuit caused the outage. Street light outages Pavement faults Signage and painted markings Vegetation Drainage State highway related issues. Miscellaneous issues. Overweight Supervision There were no overweight supervisions during the month. Roadside Dumping of Rubbish There was only one report of illegal roadside dumping of household or other rubbish on Council Roads or Reserves during the month, this being two large old settees and old television set dumped on Pukewera Road. 5 SAFETY MANAGEMENT Traffic Control Audits There were three traffic audits completed during the month, one on the Pukekauri Road AWT site and two on the Miranda Road AWT site. Several temporary speed restriction signs were noted as missing the TEMPORARY supplementary plates and the Contractor was requested to correct the signage. In terms of the COPTTM site rating assessment temporary traffic management was of an acceptable standard. Minor Improvement Projects The Minor Improvement projects for this year are at various stages of completion, as follows: Rahu Road is completed. Pukekauri Road Safety improvements commenced construction this month in conjunction with the AWT. Page 4
5 Designs for Willoughby Street Parking Improvements and Guardrail upgrades on Front Miranda Road have been designed and are being reviewed for construction approval. Lighting improvements are programmed for completion in April. Minor roadmarking improvements are completed. Intersection controls require HDC approval to commence installation. Design of Arney Street pedestrian refuge point and Kea Crossing is progressing. Footpath Construction Downer Ltd has commenced construction of the year 2 footpath improvements with the completion of Edward Place and Station Road sites. Construction will continue in April. 6 OTHER ISSUES Roading Capital Programme Update Summaries of the Roading Capital Programme subsidised and non subsidised projects for the 2011/12 year are attached as appendices to this report.
