4 Itinerary Day 1: Wednesday, April 25, :00 A.M. Arrive at middle school 5:30 A.M. Depart from school Stop for lunch en route at own expense at Delaware House ($10) 1:00 P.M. Approximate arrival to Washington National Museum of African American History Photo stop at the White House and other Memorials 6 & 7 P.M. Pizza Dinner: Bertucci's Italian Restaurant Evening Activity: Evening sightseeing of Memorials 10:00 P.M. Hotel: Comfort Inn College Park North 4050 Powder Mill Rd. Beltsville MD

5 Day 2: Thursday, April 26th, 2018 Staggered Breakfast at Your Hotel: Comfort Inn Free Time for Souvenir Shopping National Air & Space Museum 11-11:30 Lunch: Cash distribution from Tour Director 12:30/5:30 PM Smithsonian Museums rotation in groups *Holocaust Memorial Museum* 5:00 PM/6:00 PM Dinner: Pentagon City Food Court (voucher given by Tour Director) Madam Tussaud s Wax Museum 10:00 PM Return to Hotel

6 Day 3: Friday, April 27th, 2018 Staggered Breakfast at Your Hotel: Comfort Inn Arlington National Cemetery Lunch: Pot Bellies Box Lunch Steven F. Udvar-Hazy, Air & Space Museum 2:00 P.M. Depart for home Stop for dinner on way home at rest stop Arrival at HKMS approximately P.M.

7 Student travelers will: Follow instructions from all chaperones and tour guides Check in with chaperones on a frequent basis Pay close attention during attendance/roll call Take care of each other Never go anywhere alone Buddy system at all times Avoid junk food, energy drinks, and snacks that may upset their stomach Stay with their groups when directed to do so Be appropriate on the bus, in the hotel, and on any tours Be polite Learn while having a memorable experience Students will use their cellphones appropriatly

Cards/Games Small cooler for bus DVDs for bus (G, PG, PG-13) Money for 2 meals, souvenirs and additional food if necessary ($50)

11 No No No.. What Not To Bring Illegal substances based on HKMS code of conduct Dangerous/harmful objects (Swiss Army knife, scissors, etc.) Video Games or DVD players that connect to TV Expensive jewelry, cameras, electronics Junk food, excessive candy, energy drinks, or gum. Speakers

12 Luggage/Bags One bag under the bus with clothing there will be no access until we arrive at the hotel. Carry-on for the bus with snacks and entertainment (small enough to fit in overhead compartment) A small string backpack can be used by students during the day. There are certain museums they will be asked to leave the backpack on the bus. Parents are urged to check all luggage prior to departure. All bags will be checked by chaperones before departure.

13 Fill out a medicine authorization form for all medical needs Call Jennifer Papallo if you have any questions at the school. Medical forms MUST BE submitted by Monday, April 9, 2018 Individual letter outlining your child s medical needs Registered Nurse on trip Make sure your child is responsible for taking their medications No student may carry his/her meds, including over-the-counter medication (Advil, Tylenol, etc.) No student may give any medication to another student

15 Communications Cell Phones Off and put away in the museums we want students to interact with each other and the exhibits within each museum. Phones will be taken when used inappropriately (pictures without consent, inappropriate content, tweets, snap chat, instagram etc.) Phones are to be used respectfully

16 How Can you Help? Talk to your children about: Time management/roll calls Healthy eating and drinking choices Behavioral expectations Hotel behavior (hallways, rooms, sleep, noise, phones) Security guards Getting sleep in the hotel Taking their medication, if necessary Handling situations
