(July 4) Welcome to the first day of camp. We will be getting to know one another through a series of games and art activities. 2 Bring along your furry friends and enjoy a day full of teddy bear-themed activities including a bear hunt and picnic in Gilkson Park, located at 50 Gemini Dr at Glen Arms. Gilkson Park is a large sports park that includes land at R. A. Riddell Public School and provides a variety of sports fields, a splash pad and basketball court. Don t forget to bring a nut free lunch, swimsuit & towel (in case we encounter a splash pad), sunscreen, a hat, a water bottle and comfortable footwear Confederation Park (July 6) 585 Van Wagners Beach Rd, Hamilton 2/confederation-park/ What a better way to explore a conservation area than going on a scavenger hunt? Campers will work together to complete a scavenger hunt across the park. After taking a lunch break we campers will walk down the trail to Lakeland Pool where they will have the opportunity to go swimming. Confederation Park is a 93 hectare conservation area located in Hamilton on the southern shores of Lake Ontario featuring the 4.3km long Hamilton Beach Trail. Wacky Hair Day (July 7) It's time to bust out the colored hair spray and multi coloured hair ties because it's wacky hair day! Chedoke Trail Hike (July 8) Strap on your running shoes because today we are off on one of Hamilton s best trails! The Chedoke Radial Recreational Trail is a pedestrian and bicycle pathway developed on the former right of way of the Brantford and Hamilton Electric Railway. It is part of the Bruce Trail. Beginning at Hillcrest Avenue, the trail runs for 2.7 kilometres southwest, crossing the Chedoke Golf Course and traversing the escarpment to Scenic Drive. We will begin our hike from the escarpment stairs at Upper Paradise and Scenic Drive. We will be stopping for a picnic lunch in Highland Garden 81 Hillcrest Avenue. Highland Gardens Park is located at the escarpment's edge in the lower city and is also the site of a reservoir. It has facilities for baseball
3 and soccer and there is a natural area along the edges of the park. Don t forget to bring a nut free lunch, swimsuit & towel (in case we encounter a splash pad), sunscreen, a hat, a water bottle and comfortable footwear for hiking. Week 2: Splash Pad at Gilkson Park (July 11) Pinecone Bird Feeders (July 12) The weather is nice and the animals are out and are hungry. We re going to search high and low for pinecones to make our very own bird feeders. Don t forget to bring a nut free lunch, swimsuit & towel (in case we encounter a splash pad), sunscreen, a hat, a water bottle and comfortable footwear Wild Water Works (July 13) 585 Van Wagners Beach Rd, Hamilton We thought we d kick off our summer with a splash! Wild Water Works is the largest water park in Hamilton, complete with four body slides, two tube slides, splash pads, a lazy river, and one of Canada s largest outdoor wave pools! Campers will enjoy lunch in the shaded picnic areas before returning to the water for more swimming in the afternoon. Campers will be departing the centre at 9am and returning at approximately 5pm. Scavenger Hunt (July 14) We ve gotten to know our neighbourhood over the summer so today we are going on a scavenger hunt to see what we can find! 4 Splash Pad & Picnic at Gilkson Park (July 15) Week 3: Swim at Chedoke Outdoor Pool (July 18) Chedoke Outdoor Pool is located at West 25 th & Bendamere Ave. Their phone number is It is a shallow pool with lifeguards that is perfect for our campers! It is surrounded by a lovey park behind Chedoke School. Don t forget to bring a nut free lunch, swimsuit & towel, sunscreen, a hat, a water bottle Mad Science (July 19) We re turning our campers into junior scientists for the day through a series of hands on experiments! Don t forget to bring a nut free lunch, swimsuit & towel (in case we encounter a splash pad), sunscreen, a hat, a water bottle and comfortable footwear Bronte Creek (July 20) 1219 Burloak Drive, Oakville What a better way to explore Bronte Creek s natural wildlife than walking the trails. Make sure to wear running shoes as our campers will be hitting the trails in search of wildlife! In the morning they will go on a hike before stopping for lunch in a picnic area. In the afternoon campers will have the opportunity to go swimming in the 1.8 acre gradual entry pool. Bronte Creek Provincial Park is located in Oakville, Ontario, Canada, and is part of the Ontario Parks system. The 6.4-square-kilometre park is located at the western edge of Oakville, bordering on Burlington. Picnic in the Garden (July 21)

Don t forget to bring a nut free lunch, swimsuit & towel sunscreen, a hat, a water bottle and comfortable footwear Week 4: Swim at Westmount Recreation Centre (July 25) Westmount Recreation Centre is located at 35 Lynbrook Drive. We re excited to get a behind-the-scenes look at an actual, operating fruit farm, complete with fruit picking, and tractor rides. (August 2) If you don t have a superhero costume for tomorrow s Superhero Day have no fear. Today we will be creating our own superhero masks. Don t forget to bring a nut free lunch, swimsuit & towel (in case we encounter a splash pad), sunscreen, a hat, a water bottle and comfortable footwear Confederation Park (August 3) 585 Van Wagners Beach Rd, Hamilton 2/confederation-park/ It s Superhero Day. Come dressed as your favourite Superhero or create your own. Campers will have the opportunity to showcase their special powers throughout various gross motor games. After taking a lunch break we campers will walk down the trail to Lakeland Pool where they will have the opportunity to go swimming. 7 Water Play Day (August 4) We are breaking out the sprinkler, water balloons and buckets for this water logged fun filled day! Don t forget to bring a nut free lunch, swimsuit & towel, sunscreen, a hat, a water bottle and comfortable footwear Splash Pad at Gilkson Park (August 5) Week 6: Splash Pad at Riddell (August 8) Up, Up & Away! (August 9) Today our campers will be using recycled materials to create their own airplanes. We will take them outside to see whose aircraft will take flight! Wild Water Works (August 10) 585 Van Wagners Beach Rd, Hamilton We re baaaaaack! Wild Water Works is always one of the highlights of our summer and the campers favourite, so we always make two trips. It s the same deal as the first time, only this time, we ll know exactly what water slides are the best! Wild Water Works is the largest water park in Hamilton, complete with four body slides, two tube slides, splash pads, a lazy river, and one of Canada s largest outdoor wave pools! Campers will enjoy lunch in the shaded picnic areas before returning to the water for more swimming in the afternoon.

9 Pigs, peacocks & cows! Campers will have the opportunity to get up close & personal with these animals and to step back in time and tour a local fruit farmer s house from the turn of the century. In the morning they will visit the Spruce Lane Farmhouse to interact with the animals before stopping for lunch in a picnic area. In the afternoon campers will have the opportunity to go swimming in the 1.8 acre gradual entry pool. Bronte Creek Provincial Park is located in Oakville, Ontario, Canada, and is part of the Ontario Parks system. Bayfront Park boasts a number of features perfectly suited to a waterfront setting, including an extensive asphalt pathway; a lower shoreline walk; naturalized areas of shrubs, trees, and wildflowers We will also take a trolley ride along the Waterfront, spotting some of Hamilton s most memorable attractions. 10 Pinecone Bird Feeders (August 23) The weather is nice and the animals are out and are hungry. We re going to search high and low for pinecones to make our very own bird feeders. Royal Botanical Gardens (August 24) 680 Plains Rd W, Burlington Canada s largest Botanical Garden features almost 2500 acres of nature sanctuary. We ll see some of the prettiest flowers from around the world, as well as some amazing and interesting critters. We ll also learn some useful gardening tips and inspire our campers to connect with their green thumbs. Children will have the opportunity to explore the Hendrie Valley trail to feed chickadees and chipmunks. We will also explore the various gardens and play on the Natural Playground. Hamilton Farmers Market (August 25) The Hamilton Farmer s Market is over 100 years old and features food from local farms and specialties from all over the world. We will be taking the bus to downtown Hamilton (55 York Blvd.) Our campers will shop for some treasures to cook with when they get back to their camp. Today we take over the lanes for a fun filled bowling adventure that may lead to a lif long social activity for our campers! 11 Visit the local library (August 30) We are going to visit Terryberry Public Library, located at West 5th & Mohawk to check out some exciting books for our program. The African Lion Safari will put us faceto-face with some of the most fascinating and amazing animals in the world, including elephants, zebras, baboons, and, of course, lions! Campers will ride through the large game reserve in the Safari Tour Bus, take a ride on the scenic railway as well as the African Queen Boat ride. After lunch campers have the opportunity to visit Mismumu Bay, an interactive water play zone, complete with slides and plenty of splashing.
