1 Neighborhoods Parks are the backbone of Arvada s Park System. Neighborhood parks are generally 5-12 acres in size and provide nearby recreation and leisure activities within walking distance of residential areas, are located adjacent to elementary, middle or high schools whenever possible, are accessible by trail, and, have portions of the site that is relatively flat to accommodate fields and facility development. It is the city s long-standing goal to have a neighborhood park within a ten minute walk of every Arvada resident.
