Amongst the top ten markets, United States reported the highest growth with growth rate of 10.85% during Jan-Oct. India reported a growth of 6.52% with exports increasing from US$ Bn in Jan-Oct 2016 to US$ Bn in Jan-Oct followed by Germany and Vietnam with growth rate of 12.18% and 9.84% respectively. China being the largest exporter with US $ Bn showed an decline of (-) 0.43% in Jan-Oct. Bangladesh, Italy, Turkey, & Spain recorded positive growth. 3

During the period Jan-Oct, USA is the largest importer of T&C with US $ Bn. China, 4 th largest importer have reported a growth of 9.38% during this period Jan-Oct. Vietnam 8 th Rank showed a growth of 8.02% during Jan-Oct. 4

United States the largest importer of textiles has increased by 3.12% from US $ Bn during Jan-Oct 2016 to US $ Bn during Jan-Oct. Bangladesh and Turkey reported highest growth of 11.45% and 14.48% during Jan-Oct. China 2 nd, and Vietnam 3 rd reported positive growth of 9.82%, and 6.16% respectively during this period. Germany, Italy, Japan and Indonesia have reported positive growth during this period. 5

United States (2 th largest exporter) reported a highest growth of 14.20% during Jan-Oct. Germany (4 th largest exporter) reported a growth of 3.82% during Jan-Oct. Italy, Turkey, S.Korea, Taiwan and Pakistan reported positive growth during Jan-Oct. 6

Amongst the top ten suppliers, China (largest exporter) reported a decline of (-) 2.72%. Bangladesh (2nd largest exporter) reported a slight growth of 0.97%. Vietnam (3rd largest exporter) reported a growth of 8.07% during Jan-Oct. Germany being the 5 th largest exporter reported highest growth of 19.29% followed by India with growth of 4.83% during this period. Turkey(7 th ) and Hong Kong (8 th ) have declined during Jan-Oct. Spain (9 th largest exporter) reported a growth of 10.67% during Jan-Oct 7

India remains the third largest supplier of T&C to USA during Jan-Dec, recording a growth of 3.15% after China and Vietnam. Imports from China reported a decline of (-) 1.23% in Jan-Dec, while Vietnam (the second largest supplier) reported a growth of 7.08% in Jan-Dec. Mexico (4 th ) reported a growth of 5.51% during this period. Bangladesh (5 th ) reported a decline of (-) 4.15% during this period. Indonesia, Honduras and Sri Lanka reported a decline during Jan-Dec. 8

Pakistan (4 th ) reported a growth of 2.50% in Jan-Dec. Turkey (6 th ) reported highest growth of 13.98% during this period. 9

Imports from China reported a decline of (-) 3.41% in Jan-Dec, while Vietnam (the second largest supplier) reported a highest growth of 7.08% during this period Bangladesh (3 rd ) largest supplier reported a decline of (-) 4.69 in Jan-Dec Honduras, Sri Lanka and El Salvador reported a decline during Jan-Dec. 10

India (3 rd largest supplier) reported a growth of 8.06% in Jan-Dec USA (5 th ) reported the growth of 7.15% during this period. South Korea, Japan and Taiwan reported positive growth during Jan-Dec. 12

Leading supplier China reported a growth of 0.66% in Jan-Dec, while Bangladesh reported a growth of 4.27% during Jan-Dec. Cambodia recorded highest growth of 11.35% during this period. India (4 th largest supplier) reported a decline of (-) 1.16% in Jan-Dec Vietnam and Pakistan reported a growth of 7.04% and 11.15% respectively in Jan-Dec. Morocco and Sri Lanka recorded positive growth during this period. 13

United States is the leading importer of cotton textiles and has increased by 4.09% during the period Jan-Oct. China has reported growth of 4.77% in Jan-Oct followed by Vietnam with 2.72% during this period. Germany, Bangladesh, Japan, Italy and France have recorded positive growth during the period Jan-Oct. 14

China being the top supplier reported a growth of 4.66% in Jan-Dec, followed by India with a highest growth of 5.44% in Jan-Dec. Pakistan and Mexico recorded growth of 3% and 2.58% in Jan-Dec. Vietnam (8 th rank) recorded growth of 3.76% in Jan-Dec. Canada, Turkey, South Korea, Italy and Japan have declined during this period. 15

Import from China has increased by 4.10% during the period Jan-Dec. Pakistan (3 rd ) reported a growth of 11.30% during this period. India as the 4th largest supplier grew by 6.75% during Jan-Dec. Bangladesh, Vietnam and South Korea reported the growth of 14.43%, 11.89% and 6.23% respectively in Jan-Dec. 16

17 Rank Source: GTA Country MAJOR IMPORTERS OF COTTON YARN World Import Statistics of Cotton Yarn Million United States Dollars January - December % Change % Share January - October % Change % Share World China Bangladesh Hong Kong Turkey South Korea Portugal Italy Pakistan Russia Vietnam Global imports of Cotton yarn during Jan-Oct reached a level of US $ Bn increasing from US $ Bn in Jan-Oct 2016, marking a growth of 7.15% in dollar terms, while in volume terms, imports increased during this period from 3387 Mn.Kgs to 3492 Mn.Kgs i.e. increase by 3.11%. China s imports reached a level of US $ 4.40 Bn (1601 Mn Kgs) in Jan-Oct increasing from US $ 4.09 Bn (1592 Mn Kgs) in Jan-Oct 2016, a growth 7.54% in dollar terms and 0.61% in quantity terms. Pakistan reported a highest growth of 64.53% during this period. Hong Kong(3 th ) declined by (-) 12.04% during Jan-Oct. Bangladesh, Turkey, Portugal, Italy, Russia and Vietnam reported a growth of 3.56%, 24.99%, 22.47%, 3.33%, 17.01%, and 15.44% during Jan-Oct. 17

India s exports reached a level of US $ 2.76 Bn (894 Mn Kgs) in Jan-Oct increasing from US $ 2.55 Bn (914 Mn Kgs) in Jan-Oct 2016, a growth 8.41% in dollar terms and decline of (-) 2.20% in quantity terms. Vietnam reported highest growth of 26.13% in dollar terms and 17.94% in quantity terms during Jan-Oct followed by Turkey with growth of 12.77% in dollar terms and 2% in quantity terms during this period. Hong Kong and Taiwan have declined during the period Jan-Oct. 18
