SWEET Delights The concept of soft-serve was first developed in 1938 by John McCullough and his son. They convinced friend, Sherb Noble, to offer the product in his, Illinois ice cream shop. That summer they held a 10 cent all-you-can-eat sale and sold 1,600 servings in two hours. Two years later, Noble and the McCulloughs opened the first Dairy Queen in Joliet. Today there are more than 6,000 DQ stores worldwide and it all started in, Illinois. Don t miss out on a treat from one of the five Noble Family-owned DQ s in County. #VisitCounty 31
