3 Project Information The Project length is miles along I-95 Construction started Spring 2015 The anticipated completion date is Spring 2018 The total contract amount is $205,000,000

4 Project Description This project involves widening Interstate 95 (I-95) from four-lanes to sixlanes from north of State Road (SR) 44 to north of US 92 (International Speedway Boulevard). The southern project limit will tie in to the ongoing I-95 widening project to the south (from south of SR 406 to north of SR 44) Reconstructs the I-95 Interchanges leading to and from I-4 and US 92 which will increase mobility and connectivity It will increase the safety for merging, exiting and through-traffic The project will eliminate a left side merge ramp onto I-95 from US 92, just a short distance to the south

17 The Impacts are Real The truck driver in this crash was critically injured and the road had to be closed for a time while crews cleared the area.

18 Are You Putting Yourself at Risk? Have you ever driven faster than the posted speed limit? Have you ever looked at your phone to read a text while driving? Have you ever taken both hands off the wheel while driving because you were eating or reaching for something? Now ask the same questions but place yourself driving through a Work Zone.

19 Staying Safe in the Zone If you see orange, SLOW DOWN Signs are placed as far as two miles ahead of a work zone to alert you of a change. Look for signs announcing a lane closure or a lane shift. Any new traffic pattern can be problematic if you are not paying attention. Always keep two hands on the wheel to control your vehicle on rough surfaces.

20 Staying Safe in the Zone Pay attention to channeling devices, such as barrels, cones and barrier wall. Understand the size and condition of your lane may be different in a construction zone. If the lanes are separated by a solid white line, STAY IN YOUR LANE. Trucks may be entering and exiting the roadway anywhere within the construction zone. Give them space. Most importantly, DO NOT DRIVE ABOVE THE SPEED LIMIT!!!!
