3 In 2018, we celebrate 30 years of promoting tourism in South Florida. Over this time period we have helped over 2 million travelers explore all the great places that surround us. From National Parks to State Parks to family attractions to bountiful agri-tourism locations, we have been truly blessed to be able to share the place we call home with travelers from around the world. Our Visitor Center is located in Florida City which lies next to the City of Homestead. Both cities are on the upswing with many new hotels and businesses coming into our area. Our historic districts are seeing great changes. You will get a taste of the diversity of our area from Key West to Miami presented in this visitor guide. We also hope that you will take advantage of our travel app. As our non-profit turns 30 years old, we truly thank our community, the supporting businesses presented in this guide, our Board of Directors and all the women and men who have volunteered at our Visitor Center over these last 30 years. Box Florida City, FL This Pioneer Museum is located in a 1904 Homestead Florida East Coast Railroad Station Agent's home. Open in the winter starting in November and running thru April - Wednesdays and Saturdays - 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. It is staffed by volunteers. Historic Homestead Townhall Museum N. Krome Avenue Homestead, FL Built in 1917, the 7,000 square foot building housed all the functions of the developing town including the fire department, jail, municipal offices and council chamber, which also served as a courtroom. Open Tuesday Saturday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. No charge. Donations welcome. R.F.
