3 Larry Anderson Mahogany Dr Saturday 10-2 rry is modeling a freelance HO layout, featuring the ngton Northern in the 1980 s. There is a lot of scenery that has been done. The layout fills a 20x25 lower room. All of the track work in the second level is. Control is Digitrax DCC. try is through the Garage. om South Virginia, turn into South Hills Dr., right on eca Way, then a short left on Mahogany Dr. Kevin Caldwell 2485 Glen Eagles Dr Friday 4-10 Saturday 9A-10 Sunday 9A-7 Kevin is back with a monster N Scale, 9 x13, layout of his Squirrel Valley Railway Company. Featuring all handlaid turn-outs and crossings, it has over 200 feet of trackwork including a 6.5 coil helix to the second level. No scenery yet however the towns, buildings and basic contours are mocked-up. He is also displaying his completed portable switching module. Look for signs and blue construction cones in driveway. Check the map for directions.

4 Paul Ferrari 2215 Pioneer Dr Friday 7-8:30 Paul s Great Basin Pacific Railroad N-scale layout represents the diversity of Northern Nevada railroading in the Steam to Diesel era. You will see mostly freight operations with some passenger traffic, a city, steam servicing with a turntable, various industries. Paul has added an new industrial site this year. Go west on Moana Ln, to Pioneer Dr. then south. Turn into Thornwood Ct (cul-de-sac) and enter through the garage. Don Gustavson 908 Red Falcon Way Sparks Saturday 10-5 Don is joining his two HO gauge layouts into one. One is HOn3 set in the area of Como, Colorado in the early 1900's, 'L' shaped about 25'x30'. Rio Grande, Colorado & Southern. Digitrax DCC. The other is HO Standard Gauge, DC during the late 1900's, approx. 16'x30' and growing. We have converted it over to DCC. ATSF & UP. The two layouts are being joined together with dual gauge track. Take Pyramid Hwy to Eagle Canyon Dr., turn west to Alena Way. Turn right on Alena to the end at Nightingale Way. Turn right on Nightingale to Red Falcon Way. Turn left on Red Falcon Way to the third house on the right. There will be signs directing you to the train room behind the house.

5 Don Hanley 2876 Falcon Ridge Dr. Sparks Saturday era protolance layout based on an abandoned railroad that was to run from Huntington In. to Dayton Oh. The layout is a 2' x 22' switching layout centered in the town of Bluffton In. There should be trains running this year, NCE DCC. The layout is in the garage, enter through the garage door, if the weather is bad use the front door. Dave Jarvis 2265 Grosvenor Park Place Saturday 1-3 Dave is doing an indoor G scale, Western themed Layout. It has lots of sounds and mini scenes. Do not follow a GPS in this one, there are locked gates that you can t get through. From S. Virginia, go west on Plum Ln. Turn left on Lakeside Dr. bear left onto Lymberry then left on Virginia Lake Dr., right to Virginia Lake Way, Left onto Gramercy Ln then right onto Grosvenor Park Place. enter through the garage.

6 Al Nelson 338 River Front Dr Saturday 10-2 Al s layout is in a 10x22 finished garage area. He has benchwork around the room with a classification yard and a few industries at this time. Scenery is progressing.. The plan is a double loop with some hidden staging. Late 60 s era of the Santa Fe, in the Barstow area. DC control. HO scale. Go west from the intersection of McCarran and 4th street then left on Woodland and follow the map. Assuming good weather, entry will be the adjacent garage door, if not use front door. Northern Nevada On30 Modular railroad group 9145 Quilberry Way Saturday 12-5 This is an On30 Modular group based in Nevada they use MRC Prodigy Express DCC system for operation. They have no specific prototype just narrow gauge each module is 2ft x 4ft and is owned by individual members the theme is high desert, they follow the California Central Coast module specifications. They are always looking for new members. From us I-80 west to exit 5, turn right Somersett ridge prkwy go past the Dell Web structure continue up the hill to the stop sign, turn right Del Webb prkwy, take the next left Meridian Ranch Dr, then right on Quilberry Way. we are on the left side of the street. Park in street, enter garage through side gate and use the rear door just follow the train sounds.

7 Bob Norwich 2075 Solari Dr Saturday 10-5 Bob is creating a fictional On30 railroad in post war Nevada town that has had hard times. It is using worn out steam engines. There are over 50 buildings with scenery mostly done on the layout. However, now Bob has added a new room out the back of the house, new layout construction is progressing there. DCC There is plenty of parking, you can use the driveway, follow the signs to the back of the house. Frank Pedone 1522 Satellite Dr Sparks Friday 10-5 Saturday 10-5 Sunday 10-5 Set in a 1950 s Southern Rockies Logging town, this 8x9 HO scale layout is packed with detail and includes dozens of unique, scratchbuilt features. Frank has created a captivating layout. DC with block signals on the mainline. At this point Frank would like to sell the layout. From I-80 the Vista exit north. Go beyond Los Altos and turn right on Satellite Dr.

8 Jim Petro Grey Rock Ct Saturday 10-5 Jim is recreating the Denver and Rio Grande in Denver and the surrounding area, featuring the Joint Line south towards Pueblo and the climb into the Rocky Mountains. There is a large Yard and Passenger station featuring many named passenger trains of the 50 s era. New Signaling. A second level has been added to some of the area.. HO scale Car Card operations days are held regularly, you are invited to try out some switching. NCE- DCC Take US 395 to Mt Rose Hw. west, then right on Thomas Creek, left on Quail Rock right on Grey Rock Jim Price Toll Road Friday 5-9 Don t miss this impressive three room HO layout that will eventually depict the Southern Pacific from Oakland to. Much of the Oakland area, which includes the multi-level electric system terminal, is done. Track work continues eastbound, he is through Roseville, but much still needs to be done there. A separate room houses the Oakland Mole. NCE DCC. From, south on US 395 get off on Virginia Av. south then left (east ) on NV 341. Turn Right on Toll Road. Look for a sign on the right side. Bear right in the driveway and drive to the rear of the house. Enter through either door.

9 Michel Scott 1713 Manchester Way Sparks Friday 5-8 Mike is modeling the late 80 s/early 90 s, in the area of Fernley, Nv. south through the Owens Valley to San Bernadino Ca., the Great Basin Lines. The layout is in a garage area. All track is done and scenery is more than 50%. He uses NCE DCC. Do not park in the Driveway between the condos. There should be plenty of space in the street.

10 Gene Bails 1216 Fremont St. Carson City Sunday 1-3 The Wabuska Model Railroad is a large HO-scale multi-level railroad depicting SP s Mina branch where Gene rew up. Impeccable trackwork with 2 helixes. Partial scenery ased on the real terrain of central Nevada. Digitrax DCC. From the new US 395 /Fairview exit go west to Saliman oad, turn south, at Sonoma turn right, at Fremont turn ght. Follow signs to the layout room. Carson City Railroad Association Mills Park Carson City Sunday 11-4 CCRA welcomes new members and is a great way to make friends and hone your model railroading skills. In addition to a medium-size HO and HOn3 layout in the clubhouse ( Digitrax DCC and DC), they operate the 2 foot-gauge train in Mills Park. They also have an N scale layout under construction. From E. William St. (US-50), turn south on Sailman to the first street on the right into Mills Park. Bear right into the large parking area; a sidewalk leads to the clubhouse on the far side..

11 Dennis Drury 662 St Andrews Drive Dayton Sunday 10-4 Dennis Drury just started building his new layout in Dayton. He's modeling the line between Klamath Falls and Crescent Lake in Oregon as it was in This allows him to have trains from the Southern Pacific, Burlington Northern, Oregon California & Eastern as well as the Klamath Northern. Since Dennis has only recently begun construction there isn't a lot to see but he promises he'll have at least one train running. The layout is being built in 2/3rds of a 3 car garage and when completed will have 4 levels. There will be a layout plan drawings available. From Carson City proceed east on US50 for about 9.5 miles. When you get to Dayton make a right at the first traffic light which is Dayton Valley Road. Proceed 1.8 miles to Bayhill Drive and go right. If the gate is closed use the keypad by the gatehouse to enter in code #2673 (#BNSF). After passing through the gate turn left onto Bayhill Circle. Take the second left onto St. Andrews Drive. The address is 662 St. Andrews. There will be a railroad crossing sign out front. If the weather is good enter through the open garage door. If not go through the gate into the back yard and enter the garage through the back door. Dale Hawes 1297 Sorensen Ln. Gardnerville Sunday 10-4 Dale has 12 ft X 24 ft modular HO, DCC layout. He models in the 1980s, his own road name (Bear River Western) His main theme is lumber industries. There is a saw mill area, a paper mill, two small towns, an engine facility. There are four 8 ft. X 3 ft section and seven 4 ft by 4 ft sections. All sections have most landscaping and structures installed. Still working on detailing. 395 to Sharky's Casino, turn right (Gilman Ave, When coming from Carson City.) go to stop sign turn,left on to Centerville Ln. and, go to nest stop sign (one block) and turn right on Tillman, Turn right to Sorensen lane. I am the first house on the left.(1297 Sorensen Ln.) Look for railroad crossing sign.

12 Brian Lund and His Father 120 Curry Dr, Fernley Saturday 10-5 Brian is doing a layout that depicts the time from the 50 s to the present. It is a 12x9 with two Main Lines, a large freight yard and engine facilities. There is a small town with a 2 alarm fire in progress and a tractor pull going on elsewhere. New this year is and Engine Yard and a Piggyback Terminal. HO and DC. His Father s layout is a 12x8 Lionel, with 5 main lines. there is no era. There is war happening on top of a mountain and a lot of working accessories. Paul Martinovich 5660 Gentry Ln. Carson City Sunday 10-4 Paul s N-scale empire depicts Eastern California railroading in the 1950 s. Steam and Diesel power represent the Western Pacific and Southern Pacific. Paul continues to add to his scenery representing the Western Pacific s Route, including and Portola. Paul and his railroad were featured in the fall 2007 Carson magazine. The area of the layout has been redesigned From US 395, turn east on Fariview Dr., then Right on S. Edmonds Dr., then left on Snyder Av., then left on Gentry Ln.

13 Patrick Mobley 3104 Pine Lane Carson City Sunday 10-3 The N scale railroad, is called the Great Basin and Sierra, and as the name suggests, it models the High Nevada Desert, Sierra Nevada Mountains, and the California foothills. The time period varies from early 20th century to the transition era. One section features a Nevada Mining town. Another, has a large canyon with tall trestles, based loosely on the Feather River Canyon. The layout is in an outbuilding about the size of a 2 car garage. There will be signs directing you to the layout area. From College Pkw., turn south onto Northgate, then take the third left onto Hampton, then the first right onto Pine. The house is on the right. Mike Rowe 1650 Lombardy Rd. Gardnerville Sunday 10-4 Mike has built a 20 x 40 layout. It is O gauge, using three rail track but a more realistic track then standard Lionel. The layout uses DCS for control using hand held controllers. There is a 6 stall roundhouse, a large climbing trestle and a layout top to ceiling Mining scene. Take US 395 south to Minden, turn left onto Buckeye, go 3 mi east, turn right onto Lombardy. It is the second house on the right. The house is gated, press the call button if it is closed. He will plan to have it open.

14 Bryan Smith 545 Starlight Drive, Unit A Fernley Friday 10-6 Saturday 10-6 Sunday 10-6 Bryan is new this year. He is doing a 1970 s BN, Chicago & Iowa, Aurora subdivision. The railroad a mostly a switching layout going from Amboy, Ill. to Compton Ill., crossing the Green River on a 2 span steel girder bridge It is a 9x12 shelf layout in a one car garage. The scenery is about 50% done. Control is MRC DCC. Take I-80 to Fernley. Turn right on to US40/Main street, turn right on US95/Commerce way. Then left on Shadow Ln Arnt Tonnessen 1839 Long Ct Gardnerville Sunday 10-5 Arnt has removed and rebuilt most of the layout that you might remember from past years. He is modelling the West Virginia area with Chesapeake & Ohio and Norfolk & Western equipment. The track is about half in but operable. Most of the structures for Thurmond are in and the same for Sewell WV. There is a town of Minden WV that is almost complete. There is very little scenery as yet. This is a work in progress. Come thru the garage to Layout building in the back. Long Ct. is off of US395 about 3 miles south of the Wal Mart, on the left.

15 Richard & Anne Zawodniak 2822 Tenaya Dr. Carson City , cell Saturday 10 4 Sunday 10-4 This 24 x 24 O-gauge 3-rail layout. It includes long distance passenger trains, a commuter line, subways and a trolly line. Scenery is almost complete. The layout is in a garage next to the house. There is a new high line under construction, but will not be done, it includes switchbacks and a staging area by the garage doors. There is a low bridge 5 7 as you enter. The upper level is now operational. This is a fun layout that does not depict any particular era Take I-580/US395 to exit 41, College Pkw. Head east on College to Nye. Turn Right on Nye and the second left on Tenaya Dr. It is the third house on the right. Frank Zila 278 Well Way Carson City You can contact Jim Petro at FRANK PASSED AWAY IN SEPTEMBER, SEVERAL OF US WILL HAVE THE LAYOUT OPEN, AS HIS FAMILY ASKED Sunday 1-4 Frank is building a western themed railroad in a 25 x 25 ft space in a rear garage building. There currently is a large yard, and engine facility, some switching areas and a finished mountain area. A lot of track has been added since last year. Go around to the right of the garage, through the fence, and enter the rear building. The best way to get there is to take I-580 to Fairview to 5th. There is no I-580 exit to 5th.
