The purpose of this guide is to provide a detailed listing of sports and recreation facilities, contacts and other relevant information in Rockingham County. Rockingham County, North Carolina s North Star is nestled in the gently rising foothills for North Carolina s northern Piedmont region. Our terrain is the perfect place to experience nature s playground and the numerous recreational activities that are found in our six municipalities: Eden, Madison, Mayodan, Reidsville, Stoneville and Wentworth. Here, you can play a round of golf, hit the lakes, go horseback riding, paddle the rivers, stroll along greenways and trails, play in a park, visit historic sites or simply soak up the sun. And while you are here, be sure to check out the many treasures found in our specialty shops and arts districts. Our community is equipped with facilities to host a variety of recreational and sporting events. We created this guide to highlight these venues and assist in planning a variety of recreational events whether that be a baseball tournament, bike tour, golf tournament, canoe race or a team building event. 25 HUNTING FACILITIES Oakhaven 1434 Dibrell Road Pelham, NC The 1,200 acre estate, inclusive of a 27 acre lake, has been owned by the Dibrell family since the early 1900's. The lodge was built in the late 1800's. The farm once operated a milking facility but now has a 150 head cow/calf operation, in which visitors can experience while visiting Oakhaven. They offer a variety of hunting packages, as well as a location for group meetings, weddings and receptions.
