3 Brianna McDonald, Harry S Truman Coordinating Council The third annual Carl Junction Business Expo was recently held on March 8th at the Carl Junction Community Center. And, for the third year in a row, the event was deemed an overwhelming success! Vendors and attendees were each given an opportunity to complete surveys grading the event. The response from both groups was positive. And, despite a multitude of competing events held in the region the same day, the general consensus has been that the Carl Junction Business Expo not only fared well, but actually fared better than some other long-established events. The success of the 2014 Carl Junction Business Expo would not have been possible, had it not been for the hard work of the planning committee and numerous volunteers. The Carl Junction Business Expo Planning Committee was led under the direction of committee chairperson, Jason Ray. Jason Ray was joined on the planning committee by Cindy Atteberry, Holly Hukill, Scott Hoenshell, Shirley Hoenshell, and Gary Stubblefield. All committee members have agreed to serve in planning of the 2015 expo. The third annual Business Expo utilized twice as many volunteers, to insure it s success. This year s expo volunteers included both Chamber and non-chamber individuals, including: Marcus Donham, Laura King, Glenna Henson, Bud Rogers, Rich Kiwala, Steve Lawver, Sharon Clark, and Chevelle Kidd. Once again this year, the Business Expo relied heavily on it s partnership with the Carl Junction R-1 School District, and the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) students, under the direction of Ali Carlton. Volunteers served from the Carl Junction FCCLA, under the direction of Kim Easter. Also serving as volunteers were members of the Carl Junction FFA, under the direction of Kelli Nolting. Work is underway for the 2015 Business Expo. This year s exhibitors will have first option on renewing space for the 2015 Business Expo. To reserve your space now, for the 2015 Business Expo, please contact the CJACC at
