1 Hyde Park Winter Wonderland Ride Information Please see below a list of some of our most popular rides at this year s event. We hope that by giving you this information in advance it will help you make more informed decisions about whether or not each particular ride is for you, and therefore make your day with us a little easier! Please note that at Hyde Park Winter Wonderland there are many types of lights, sound effects and atmospheric festive music playing throughout. Although we will always try where possible to be as fully inclusive as we possibly can at Hyde Park Winter Wonderland, we and our ride owners reserve the right to prohibit access to any ride or attraction if we deem that there is an unacceptable risk to your safety or the safety of others. Alternatively you can send an to access@pwrevents.com The list below is numbered to correlate with our main Park Plan. Children s prices are up to 12 years old. 1. Real Ice Slide Type of Ride: Family Friendly Ice Slide Cost: 5 for 2 x Slides Ride info: Riders walk up to the top of the real ice slide carrying their own inflatable ring. At the top they can sit on this and slide down. Moderate speed that is slowed down at the end with a carpeted area and slight incline. Parents and small children can share large rings 2. Flying Machines Cost: 4 adult 3 child Ride info: Riders sit in double seats suspended in the air as the coaster spins them gently round at a moderate height. 3. Santa s Flying Sleigh Type of Ride: Children s Roller Coaster Ride info: A slow children s ride with a small dip.
2 4. Sleigh Ride Ride info: Slow spinning ride. Passengers sit in a sleigh shaped carriage. There is scenic music and lights. 5. Santa Games n/a 6. Reindeer Ride Ride info: Slow paced scenic track ride where riders sit on the back of a reindeer. Very suitable for young children. 7. Santa Land Express Train Type of Ride: Children s Train Ride Ride info: Slow moving train throughout different sceneries, there is music and sound effects, not too loud. 8. Santa s Coaster Type of Ride: Roller Coaster Cost: 5 Adult. 3 Child Ride info: The coaster has some dips and is at a considerable height. Riders should be aware that the coaster travels in directions that they will not be facing. Moves backwards whilst rider is facing forward. 9. Penguin Party Bumper Cars Type of Ride: Family Friendly Dodgem Cars Cost: 5 Ride info: Flashing lights above head. Riders are in cars dressed as penguins that bump into one another. Riders control their own direction. Quite small seats in the car so may be hard to access these for someone who struggles with mobility, as they are also on the floor so low down. 10. Racing Coaster Type of Ride: Children s Roller Coaster Ride info: A children s ride with a few small dips and turns.
3 11. The Yeti Ride Type of Ride: Low - Moderate Thrill Ride Cost: 5 adult 4 child Ride info: Flashing lights, and loud voices and sounds of air spraying. Spinning in circles whilst bouncing up and down abruptly as they move around the centre podium. 12. Chilly Willy Cost: 2 Ride info: A tea cup type ride but that spins, but with reindeers inside large penguins rather than cups. Moderate speeds. 13. Santa s Grotto Type of Ride: Not a ride but a chance for children to meet Father Christmas! Ride photography: Yes different prices depending on range of photos. Ride info: A chance to meet the big fella himself as he sits in his cosy festive grotto! The grotto has a wheel chair ramp and room for wheelchairs to sit with Father Christmas. This is a free attraction and therefore please expect some long queues on busy days. 14. Ice Trike Trail Type of Ride: Ice Bike Trail Cost: 5 Ride info: Each rider is given a specially modified ice tricycle that can be cycled around a scenic pathway on real ice. The tricycle is not mechanical and does require pedalling. 15. Wave Swinger Type of Ride: Low Thrill Swing Ride Cost: 4 adult 3 child Ride info: Riders sit in single seats suspended in the air as the ride spins them gently round. 16. Fire Department Fun House Type of Ride: Children s Themed Walk through Fun House Cost: 5 adult 4 Child Ride info: Flashing lights, loud music, moving floors & objects. This funhouse also includes stairs, slides and ramps. There are intermittent flame effects on the outside of this ride. 17. Traditional Carousel Type of Ride: Family Friendly Roundabout Ride info: A carousel that rotates, users will not be strapped in and must be able to hold on using their own strength. Music and flashing lights.
4 18. Air Max 360 Type of Ride: High Thrill ride Cost: 6 Ride info: A high g-force thrill ride. Riders are strapped in to a swinging arm that spins and does a full 360 loop. Riders will be sent upside down and spun at the same time. 19. Munich Looping Type of Ride: Roller Coaster Cost: 9 Ride photography: Has own photo booth Ride info: A tall, high G-force ride, with intense changes of direction, loops and dips. This coaster has 5 loops which will send the user upside down for brief periods. 20. The XXL Type of Ride: High Thrill Ride Cost: 8 Ride info: High swinging left to right in a pendulum motion as well as spinning. Lots of flashing lights on the arms of the ride and the surrounding areas. Considerable height and speeds. 21. Xmas Party Ride Type of Ride: Low-Moderate Thrill Ride. Ride info: Users are strapped in whilst the ride goes in a circle vertically. A fast ride that may leave users unsteady. Some flashing light effects. 22. Jumper Jumper Type of Ride: Moderate Thrill ride Cost: 5 Ride info: Riders spin around at speed whilst bouncing up and down. Some G Force and erratic movement. 23. Haunted Mansion Type of Ride: Ghost Ride Cost: 6 adult 5 child Ride info: Riders sit in carriages that slowly move throughout the mansion with flashing lights and scary noises. Dark throughout with illuminated characters and some real life actors. Small jump-scares but not too loud. Not a fast ride. Different scary aspects at most corners that may cause customers to jump.
5 24. Winter Wipe Out Type of Ride: Moderate Thrill ride Cost: 5 adult, 4 Child. Ride info: A thrill ride that features several moderate-speed loops, flips, and face-down gondola "hangtime". There are several moments where the riders swing back and forth freely. This ride features intense flashing lights. 25. Pirate s Ship. Low- Moderate Thrill. Cost: 4 adult 3 child Ride info: Flashing lights on the outside of the ride. No loud noises on the ride itself however there is loud background noise. Customers are sat in the boat as it swings backwards and forwards, getting higher and higher as the ride continues. Almost reaches vertical but does not go upside down. 26. Reindeer Racer Game n/a 27. Blizzard Type of Ride: High Thrill ride Cost: 9 Ride info: Riders are strapped in to a pendulum that rotates 360 and will be sent upside down numerous times from a considerable height at speed. 28. Wilde Maus XXL Coaster Type of Ride: Roller Coaster Cost: 7 Adult. 5 Child Ride photography: Has own photo booth Ride info: This ride has a small fun house style course leading up to its entrance. When aboard the ride, there are significant dips and fast turns at a considerable height. 29. Name: Euro Coaster Type of Ride: Roller Coaster Cost: 6 Adult. 4 Child Ride photography: Has own Photo booth Ride info: The coaster has some dips and is at a considerable height. Users are strapped in and the cart is suspended underneath the tracks with legs hanging.
6 30. Traditional Waltzers Type of Ride: Waltzers Cost: 5 adult 4 child Ride info: Very loud noises, and lots of flashing lights above of head. Relatively fast and spun by the ride operators as you go round. Up and down over dips in the ride trackways. Fast spinning with alternate directions. 31. Traditional Ferris wheel Type of Ride: Family Friendly Small Wheel (N.B. This is NOT the Big Wheel) Ride info: Wheel that spins round at a steady speed. Reaches a moderate height peak and then continues back around. Lots of visible flashing lights due to the view the wheel gets. Gentle movement. 32. Santa s Workshop Ride Ride info: Riders sit in individual carriages that are shaped as trains/cars. Slow moving with a slight increase in height at some points. Ideal for younger children. 33. Jet Planes Ride info: Small amounts of flashing lights in the centre and arms of the ride. Slow-medium speed spinning in circle one direction, moving up and down slowly and smoothly 34. Children s Carousel Type of Ride: Family Friendly Roundabout Ride info: A carousel that rotates, users will not be strapped in and must be able to hold on using their own strength. Music and flashing lights. 35. Santa s Sleigh Ride Type of Ride: Children s Roundabout Ride info: Riders sit in small cars shaped as sleighs. Slow rotation around a central point. Some fake snow effects towards the end. Ideal for small children.
7 36. Traditional Dodgems Type of Ride: Dodgem Cars Cost: 6 Ride info: Flashing lights above head. Riders are in cars that bump into one another. Riders control their own direction. Quite small seats in the car so may be hard to access these for someone who struggles with mobility, as they are also on the floor so low down. 37. Austin Cars Cost 2 Ride info: A vintage themed round-a-bout with toy cars. 38. Helter Skelter Type of Ride: Family Friendly Slide Ride info: Rider climbs stairs up to the top of the helter skelter carrying their own mat, then exits the ride at the top on an outside platform. Rider then slides down to the bottom which winds round the structure. Moderate height. 39. Tea Cups Cost: 2 Ride info: Spinning tea cups that spin clockwise. At the same time the rider has a wheel in each cup in order to spin their own tea cup at a speed they choose. Scenic lights and quiet music plays throughout. Cups are spacious allowing multiple people in a cup at a time. 40. Traditional Carousel Type of Ride: Family Friendly Roundabout Ride info: A carousel that rotates, users will not be strapped in and must be able to hold on using their own strength. Music and flashing lights. 41. Traditional Waveswinger Type of Ride: Low Thrill Swing Ride Cost: 4 adult, 3 Child. Ride info: Riders sit in single seats suspended in the air as the ride spins them gently round.
8 42. Dr. Archibald VR Ride Type of Ride: Virtual Reality ride with individual headsets for each rider. Cost: 9 Ride photography: TBC Ride info: A VR ride. With scares and jumps. If you are not comfortable with wearing a headset we do not recommend going on this ride. Those with spectacles will be asked to remove them before wearing the headset. There are two riders per car. We ask riders not to remove headsets during the ride in order to enjoy the experience fully. 43. Christmas Tree Ride Cost: 4 adult, 3 Child. Ride info: Users sit in enclosed giant baubles as the ride slowly rotates around a scenic Christmas Tree. 44. Autodrone Type of Ride: Family Friendly Dodgem Cars Cost: 5 Ride info: Riders are in cars that bump into one another. Riders control their own direction. Quite small seats in the car so may be hard to access these for someone who struggles with mobility, as they are also on the floor so low down. 45. The Hangover Type of Ride: Drop Tower Cost: 8 for adult 6 for child Ride info: A vertical tower ride that takes users to the top of a large pillar. Riders are strapped in with legs hanging. The ride drops once from half height and then from full. After an undetermined pause at the top of the ride, the rider will feel the sensation of falling from a height before the ride slows to a stop. The rider will feel exposed to the elements when at full height. 46. Winter Wonderland Express Type of Ride: Family Friendly Sleigh Ride Cost: 5 adult 4 child Ride info: Lots of flashing lights throughout. Spinning round a centre podium with slight dips in it. No obviously loud noises or music. Changing speeds - at some points quite fast. Some fake snow effects towards the end.
9 47. Alpen Hotel Fun House Type of Ride: Walk Through Fun House Cost: 6 adult 5 adult Ride info: Various obstacles and flashing lights. Users will be required to have good balance and comfortable traversing moving floor platforms. The ride features an Animatronic doll performance, followed by ride users being enclosed in a large dark room with music. The funhouse ends in a room where the room appears to rotate which can be disorientating. 48. Avalanche Waltzers Type of Ride: Waltzers Cost: 5 adult 4 child Ride info: Very loud noises, and lots of flashing lights above of head. Relatively fast and spun by the ride operators as you go round. Up and down over dips in the ride trackways. Fast spinning with alternate directions. 49. Snow Drifters Dodgems Type of Ride: Dodgem Cars Ride info: Flashing lights above head. Riders are in cars that bump into one another. Some side drifting motion. Riders control their own direction. Quite small seats in the car so may be hard to access these for someone who struggles with mobility, as they are also on the floor so low down. 50. Racing Bug Game n/a 51. AIR Type of Ride: High Thrill ride Cost: 8 adult 6 child Ride info: Spins upside down and twists riders in multiple directions. High thrill ride. 52. Irrgarten Mirror Maze Type of Ride: Walk Through Fun House Cost: 5 adult 4 child Ride info: A fun house that is full of different shaped mirrors. Flashing lights, music, uneven floor. Various obstacles and flashing lights. Users will be required to have good balance and comfortable traversing moving floor platforms. 53. Racing Penguins Game n/a
10 54. Reverse Bungee Type of Ride: High Thrill ride Cost: 9 Ride photography: Has own photo booth Ride info: An instant, high intensity burst of speed into the air, whilst strapped into a cage. High G-force. One launch per ride. 55. Double Decker Carousel Type of Ride: Family Friendly Roundabout Ride info: A carousel that rotates, users will not be strapped in and must be able to hold on using their own strength. Music and flashing lights. 56. Candy Cane Bungee Type of Ride: Children s Trampoline Cost: 6 Ride info: User is strapped into a harness on a trampoline with bungee cords to make them jump higher. 57. North Star Flyer Type of Ride: Low Thrill ride but at height. Cost: 7 adult 6 child Ride info: Riders sit in double seats suspended in the air as the ride spins them gently round at a considerable height. 58. Ice Mountain Coaster Type of Ride: Roller Coaster Cost: 6 Adult. 4 Child Ride photography: Has own photo booth Ride info: A dark lit indoor ride, with changes of speed spins and dips. This coaster spins around often, which may leave some users feeling unsteady. Uses flashing lights and strobes in places. 59. Barrel of Laughs Type of Ride: Moderate Thrill. Very Disorientating. Ride info: Riders stand in a barrel as they spin around. The floor is removed as they are stuck to the wall due to the motion of the fast spinning. Strong G-Force.
11 60. Snow Jet Type of Ride: Moderate - High Thrill. Some very fast speeds. Cost: 5 adult, 4 child. Ride info: Riders are spun around clockwise, while going up and down in a wave like fashion. The seats are laid down at around a 45 degree angle so riders are somewhere between horizontal and vertical. A fast ride with bright blue tinted light shining down on the riders. Some fake snow effects towards the end. 61. Magic Circus Fun House Type of Ride: Children s Themed Walk through Fun House Cost: 5 adult 4 child Ride info: Flashing lights, loud music, moving floors & objects. This funhouse also includes stairs, slides and ramps. 62. Circus Circus Type of Ride: Moderate thrill ride Cost: 5 adult, 4 Child Ride Photography: No Ride info: Very loud noises with lots of strobe lights and dry ice. Very fast ride with spinning round on two rotating points. 63. Crazy Clown Children s Coaster Type of Ride: Children s Roller Coaster Ride info: A slow children s ride with a small dip. 64. Flying Circus Balloons Ride info: Slow spinning ride with moving seats, loud music, flashing lights 65. Flying Jumbos Ride info: Slow spinning ride. Passengers sit in an elephant shaped carriage. There is scenic music and lights.
