2 TRAVIS Libraries ( Libraries are an important resource in your community. They loan books, movies, and CDs, and stock many newspapers and magazines. Libraries typically provide free access to computers and the Internet, and many offer story-times and other children s and community programs. Libraries are quiet places for students to research and study. Many have community message boards where you can learn about other resources in your area. Libraries are usually air-conditioned and are a great place to spend a few hours beating the summer heat. They are a low-cost alternative to movie theaters and arcades, and they are generally safer than playing in the street or unattended areas. Pack a snack or picnic lunch and spend the day. Many parks have bathroom facilities, covered or shady areas, and picnic tables or benches. Arkansas Bend Park- From Highway 183, take FM 1431 south 11 miles to Lohmans Ford Road. Turn left on Lohmans Ford Road and travel 4 1/2 miles to Sylvester Ford Road. Turn left on Sylvester Ford Road and travel 1 1/2 miles to the park entrance. Ben E. Fisher Park - From I-35, take Hwy 183 south approximately 3 miles to Hwy Take Hwy. 290 east approximately 4 miles and exit at Old Hwy 20. Turn right onto FM 973, and travel one block to Carrie Manor Road. Travel two blocks to the entrance of Southeast Rural Center. The park is on the north side of the center. Bob Wentz Park - From the intersection of RR 620 and FM 2222, take RR 620 south 1.3 miles to Comanche Trail. Turn right on Comanche Trail and travel 3.1 miles. Park entrance is on your left. Cypress Creek Park - From the intersection of RR 620 and FM 2222, take FM 2222 (Bullick Hollow Road) west 2 miles. The park entrance is on your left, just before the intersection of Bullick Hollow Road and FM 2769 (Old Anderson Mill Road). Dink Pearson Park - From Highway 183, take FM 1431 south 11 miles to Lohmans Ford Road. Turn left on Lohmans Ford Road and travel 7 miles to Point Venture. Park entrance is on your left. Fritz Hughes Park - From the intersection of RR 620 and FM 2222, take RR 620 south 3.7 miles to Low Water Crossing Road (just below Mansfield Dam). Turn left on Low Water Crossing Road and travel 0.2 miles to Fritz Hughes Park Road. Turn left onto Fritz Hughes Park Road. Hippie Hollow Park - From the intersection of RR 620 and FM 2222, take RR 620 south 1.3 miles to Comanche Trail. Turn right on Comanche Trail and travel 2 miles. Park entrance is on your left. Little Webberville Park - From the intersection of Hwy. 183 and FM 969, take FM 969 east approximately 15 miles into the town of Webberville. Turn right onto Water Street and proceed to the park entrance. NOTE: This is a different park than the Webberville Park located approximately three miles east of town. Mansfield Dam Park - From the intersection of RR 620 and FM 2222, travel south 4.9 miles. Turn right onto Mansfield Dam Road, just south of Mansfield Dam. The park entrance is on your left.

4 Mary Quinlan Park - From the intersection of RR 620 and FM 2222, take RR 620 south 2.1 miles to Quinlan Park Road. Turn left onto Quinlan Park Road and travel 5.5 miles to park entrance. Northeast Metropolitan Park - Going North on I-35 take the Wellsbranch-Pflugerville exit. On the access road get on 1825 which branches off it. Stay on 1825, it turns into Pecan Road. The park entrance is about 5.5 miles on the right. Pace Bend Park - From the intersection of RR 620 and Hwy. 71, take Hwy. 71 west 11 miles to RR 2322 (Pace Bend Park Road). Turn right on RR 2322 and travel 4.6 miles to park entrance. Richard Moya Park - From the intersection of Hwy. 71 and Hwy. 183, take Hwy. 183 south 2.6 miles to Burleson Road. Turn left on Burleson Road and travel 1.2 miles. The park entrance is on your right. Sandy Creek Park - From the intersection of RR 620 and FM 2222, take FM 2222 (Bullick Hollow Road) west 2 1/2 miles to FM Turn left onto FM 2769 and travel 4 miles to the town of Volente. In Volente, turn right onto Lime Creek road and follow Lime Creek Road 6 miles to the park entrance. Park entrance is on the left. Selma Hughes Park - From the intersection of RR 620 and FM 2222, take RR 620 south 2.1 miles to Quinlan Park Road. Turn right on Quinlan Park Road and travel 4.6 miles to Selma Hughes Road. Turn left on Selma Hughes Road and proceed to park entrance. Southeast Metropolitan Park- From the intersection of Highway 71 and FM 973 take Highway 71 East approximately 1.5 miles. The park entrance is on the left. Tom Hughes Park - From the intersection of RR 620 and FM 2222, take RR 620 south 2.3 miles to Marshall Ford Drive. Turn right on Marshall Ford Drive and travel 0.2 miles to Park Drive. Turn right and travel 2.8 miles to park entrance. Webberville Park - From the intersection of Hwy. 183 and FM 969, take FM 969 east 9 miles to the town of Webberville, approximately minutes from downtown Austin. Three miles past the town of Webberville turn right onto Webberwood Drive and proceed to Park Lane, the first street on your right. Turn right and proceed to the park entrance. NOTE: The sign for Webberville Park as you enter the town of Webberville is for a different park than the one described. Windmill Run - From Oak Hill, take Hwy. 71 west to Scenic Brook Drive. Turn left and proceed to Kirkham Drive. The park entrance is on the left at 7306 Kirkham Cove.
