3 For 2016, USDA Farm Service Agency s certified corn acreage planted in Arkansas was 752,398. Arkansas planted 68% more acres in 2016 than 2015 s 447,024 acres. The top five counties for corn planted acreage in Arkansas were Jefferson, Phillips, Arkansas, Desha, and Lonoke. The top five counties planted 31% of Arkansas total corn acreage. In 2016, 93% of the corn acreage planted in Arkansas was irrigated. The county with the largest planted acreage, Jefferson, irrigated 97% of the corn acres planted.

5 For 2016, USDA Farm Service Agency s certified sorghum planted acreage for Arkansas was 44,469. After a 268% increase in sorghum planted acreage in 2015, Arkansas sorghum acreage decreased 90% in The top five counties for sorghum planted acreage in Arkansas were Crittenden, Woodruff, Jackson, Cross, and Mississippi. The top five counties planted 41% of Arkansas total sorghum acreage. In 2016, 41% of sorghum acreage planted in Arkansas were irrigated. The county with the largest planted acreage, Crittenden, irrigated 34% of the sorghum acres planted.
