22 TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENTS Transportation and Transit Improvements $69 million Over 15 Years $21.2 Million Amount Related Santa Clara will contribute to fund and construct improvements to intersections in the Cities of Santa Clara and San Jose and County of Santa Clara to improve traffic conditions. $14.3 Million The fair share amount Related Santa Clara will contribute to a pool of funds to be used by the Cities of Santa Clara, San Jose, Sunnyvale, and the County of Santa Clara to make intersection and other transportation improvements. $16.2 Million The voluntary fair share contribution amount Related Santa Clara will make to the VTA for regional transportation system improvements. $17.4 Million Related Santa Clara funding to be provided to the City of Santa Clara to prepare and implement a Multimodal Improvement Plan that will improve the availability of non-auto methods of travel in the area. 23 TRANSPORTATION TRANSIT SUPPORT Supporting VTA and Other Regional Transportation 8,320 Estimated number of new daily public transit riders the project will generate by the time the project is completed, bringing new fare revenue to VTA, ACE and Capitol Corridor trains. $14 Million Estimated amount VTA will be receiving in annual tax revenues at completion of the project. 52% Expected percentage increase of project generated daily public transit ridership utilizing this VTA light rail segment at project completion. 23% Expected percentage increase in project generated daily public transit ridership utilizing Ace and Capitol Corridor trains and ACE shuttles at project completion. 24 TRANSPORTATION MANAGEMENT Transportation Demand Management (TDM) This plan must be approved by the city, monitored by a third-party, and the attainment of auto traffic reduction goals will be enforced by the city. TDM techniques may include: Private shuttles from nearby public transit Ridesharing options such as carpool and vanpool matching services Commuter Checks, Clipper Cards or VTA passes for all employees Bicycle Support facilities such as showers and changing rooms, storage rooms and racks, and bicycle repair stands throughout the project site. Bike share pods to enable trips on-site and to nearby destinations Car share services such as ZipCar Ride-share services such as Uber Pool, and Lyft Line Parking management strategies such as paid parking and unbundled parking to restrict the parking supply and discourage private vehicle use RELATED SANTA CLARA Santa Clara, CA 23
