CENTRAL COAST SOUTHERN COAST PHU QUOC ISLAND CON DAO ISLAND The best beach destinations lie along the central coast of Vietnam, in Hue, Danang and Hoi An. In Hue, the beaches at Thuan An and Lang Co are particularly popular for their white sand and inviting ocean vistas. However, Hue is best visited during the summer months, between April and August. Ideal to visit almost year-round, are the resort destinations along southern coastline. From Qui Nhon to Nha Trang and Phan Rang, then further south in Mui Ne and Ho Tram, there are several options for soft sand, turquoise waters and delicious seafood. These destinations are often less visited than other regions of Vietnam, making the journey all the more rewarding. Some of the most stunning beaches can be found on the islands of Phu Quoc and Con Dao. These secluded islands, which can be reached by flight from Ho Chi Minh City in less than one hour, are gaining in popularity and are set to become world-class beach destinations. 3 CENTRAL COAST MAP OF CENTRAL COAST A major city along the central coast, Danang is known for its picturesque stretch of white sandy beach surrounding Marble Mountain. The beaches of Non Nuoc and My Khe were formerly nicknamed. South of Danang is the charming, old town of Hoi An. Once an important trading port, the town is within easy reach of the inviting shores of Cua Dai beach. North of Danang is Hue, the ancient capital most famous for its UNESCO World Heritage sites such as the citadel and royal tombs. Although rain and cold weather make this city less popular as a beach destination, the sands of Thuan An and Lang Co are alluring in the summer. GETTING THERE Danang International Airport is connected with several flights daily to regional destinations. Direct flights to Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City take approximately one and a half hours.
