This state-of-the-art facility includes TECHNOGYM fitness equipment, individual and supervised workouts, a weight training studio, outdoor workout terrace and heated outdoor mineral pool. A wide assortment of wellness and fitness classes are also offered, see the green box below. The Old Edwards Club also has an on-site fitness center with men s and ladies locker room facilities. Classic Intervals features strength and cardio stations for the ultimate workout in the shortest amount of time.class time: 45 minutes Indoor Cycling This high-intensity individually controlled indoor cycling class uses a stationary bicycle to strengthen the muscles of the lower body and tone the quadriceps and hamstrings, back and hips. Class time: 60 minutes Highlands Nature Walk This two mile walk covering pavement, gravel and trails, is from Old Edwards Inn to the beautiful Highlands Botanical Garden. From there, we take a trail around a small lake and may stop into the Nature Center for those that are interested. Class time: minutes (weather permitting) Healthy Spine Core stability and mindful stretching combine to help unwind chronic pain and stiffness. Class time: 60 minutes Water Aerobics Experience the incredible resistance of water! This is the perfect blend of invigorating cardio and strength training. Class time: 45 minutes Walk Through The Past Historical 1.5 mile walk around downtown Highlands. You will learn the facts of how Highlands began and developed into one of western North Carolina s greatest getaways. A must for all historians! Class time: minutes (weather permitting) Yoga Work on the body s strength, flexibility and alignment through classic postures, breathing exercises and deep relaxation. Class time: 60 minutes Zumba A fitness class inspired by Latin dance. A way of mixing body-sculpting movements with easy to follow dance steps. Zumba uses a variety of styles in its routines, including salsa, reggaeton, hip-hop, etc. Music selections include both fast and slow rhythms to help tone and sculpt the body! Class time: 60 minutes Whiteside Mountain Hikes Elevation 4,930 ft - This landmark along the Eastern Continental Divide is famous for its postcard view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Whiteside Mountain is about 390 to 460 millions years old and legend says it is the oldest rock in the world. A 2-mile loop that goes around the back or north side of the mountain and then along the ridge gives visitors a chance to view a variety of wildflowers. The total climb is approximately 500 ft. The trail can be walked in an hour but you will want to allow plenty of time to take in the vistas. Hike time: Approximately 2 hours (weather permitting)
