Discover some of the highlights of on this 8 day tour that starts and ends in the historic and fascinating capital, City. Make a partial transit by ship through the Pedro Miguel and Miraflores Locks of the impressive Canal before immersing yourself in the orchards and coffee plantations of Boquete, hiking through cloud forest in Baru Volcano National Park. End your tour by soaking up the Caribbean vibe as you relax on the white sand beaches and in the turquoise waters of Bocas del Toro. ITINERARY

2 DAY 1: Arrival in City On arrival, please make your way through to the Arrivals Hall where our representative will be waiting for you to transfer you to your hotel. He/she will be holding a sign with your name on it. Should you not be able to locate them, please refer to the front of your itinerary for emergency contact details of our representative office. City, s capital, is possibly the most cosmopolitan capital in Central America. It is a modern city framed by the Pacific Ocean and the man-made Canal. The original city of ( Viejo) was destroyed by fire in The city was rebuilt on a peninsula, 8kms from the original settlement. It is known as Casco Viejo (Old Quarter) and is the historic centre of, with cobble-stoned streets and colonial buildings. The archaeological site of Viejo and the historic district of are both UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The banking district is a lively and vibrant sector of the city.

3 DAY 2: Partial Canal Transit (Shared) After a transfer from your hotel to Flamenco Marina, the partial transit starts with a 45 minute coach ride to the town of Gamboa where the Canal Dredging Division is located. Once in Gamboa, you will board the cruise ship to start the water portion of the tour, entering the Canal at the north end of the Gaillard Cut, where the Chagres River flows into the Canal. The Gaillard Cut (also known as Culebra Cut because its curves resemble a snake) is one of the main points of interest for visitors. It was carved through the Continental Divide and this section of the Canal is of great historical and geological value. Your boat will travel the Cut's 13.7 kilometres on the way to Pedro Miguel Locks. As you transit the Cut you will gain an appreciation of the continuous maintenance that this area requires, due to its susceptibility to landslides. In this area you will also be able to observe the work in progress for the Canal expansion project. Before reaching the Pedro Miguel Locks at the southern end of the Cut, you will be able to view the new Centennial Bridge which crosses over the Canal. After entering Pedro Miguel Locks, one of the two sets of locks on the Pacific side, the vessel is lowered 9 metres in one step. The ship then enters Miraflores Lake, which is a small artificial body of fresh water that separates Pedro Miguel from Miraflores Locks, the latter being the final set of locks before reaching the Pacific Ocean. At Miraflores Locks the vessel is lowered 16 metres in two distinct steps. Once in the Pacific Ocean the vessel will sail to the beautiful Flamenco Marina where you disembark. On the way to Flamenco, you will pass under the Bridge of the Americas, and later you will see the Bay of and City's imposing skyline. On arrival at Flamenco you will be transferred back to your city hotel. Please Note: This tour normally operates on Friday & Saturday. It can be changed to fit your travel dates.

4 DAY 3: City - David - Boquete This morning you will be transferred to the domestic airport in City to fly to David. On arrival into David you will be met and transferred to Boquete where spring-like weather can be enjoyed all year round!! Tucked away on the eastern slopes of Barú Volcano at 1,200 metres is the small and charming mountain village of Boquete. Known to produce some of the sweetest oranges and richest coffees in all of, Boquete is quickly becoming a destination for those visitors seeking sunny though cool mountain weather. DAY 4: Giant Millenary Querus Hike This amazing hike begins in a Nature Reserve that belongs to Baru Volcano National Park. It retraces the steps of pre-columbian Indians into a remote virgin cloud forest, surrounding the perimeter of Baru Volcano, habitat of 5 of the most ancient trees in. During the hike you will visit the enormous Quercus trees that survived a volcano eruption 800 years ago. These magnificent millenary trees grow naturally throughout primary forests of and Costa Rica. The trail parallels Quebrada La Mina, a beautiful creek that meanders through the ridges and valleys above Boquete. With more than 220 bird species native to the area, including the elusive resplendent quetzal, birding opportunities abound. During the hike, you may also spot mammals such as howler monkeys, white faced capuchins and two-toed sloths. This adventure offers the chance to experience the cloud forest along easy and accessible trails.

5 DAY 5: Boquete - Bocas del Toro Today you will be taken from Boquete to Isla Colon on the beautiful Bocas del Toro archipelago. The transfer starts with a scenic 3 ½ hour drive through the highlands and down to the Caribbean coast where you board a boat to Bocas del Toro. Isla Colon is the largest and most developed island of the archipelago. It is home to the provincial capital of Bocas del Toro, a colourful town with wooden houses built in the early 20th century. Isla Colon serves as a convenient hub for exploring the archipelago as water taxis can take you to remote beaches and magnificent snorkelling sites. The Caribbean vibes and the relaxed pace of life gives Bocas its appeal. DAY 6: Free Day in Bocas del Toro Today is a free day at leisure in Bocas del Toro. Participate in one of the optional tours such as snorkelling, dolphin watching and hiking or just relax at the beach. DAY 7: Bocas del Toro - City Today a local flight from Bocas del Toro returns you to City. On arrival you will be transferred to your city hotel for your last night in City. Enjoy an evening out in the vibrant and lively capital that is often compared with Miami.
