12 PERU TRIP TIPS PREPARING FOR YOUR ADVENTURE Required Travel Documentation If you are a U. S. citizen, you will need a valid passport to enter Peru and return to the United States. It must be valid six months beyond your intended stay and have 1-2 blank pages remaining. Allow yourself sufficient time to have your application processed if you are applying for a new passport or renewing an expired passport. With frequent security changes, we recommend that you check with your air carrier as well as the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) for current restrictions. Comfortable walking shoes are needed as this adventure includes a considerable amount of walking. Most attire is casual, although one "smart casual" outfit is recommended. The areas visited in this itinerary aregenerally clear and sunny. Although weather might vary, Peru generally has the following climate conditions and average temperatures: Lima (sea level) June - October average temperatures: Highs in the mid to high 60s, lows in the high 50s to low 60s. 21 When spending time on your own, Cusco is a good walking city and this is the best way to appreciate its beautiful sights and architecture. In Lima, it is also easy to walk to restaurants and shops in the Miraflores area where your hotel is located. If you prefer, you can take a licensed taxi from your hotels. For other means of transportation in Cusco, Lima or the Sacred Valley, ask your Adventure Guide. Currency The monetary currency in Peru is the Nuevo Sol, though many businesses accept American dollars. In cities, ATM machines are available to obtain cash in the local currency, and credit or debit cards are usually accepted. ATMs are scarce in the Sacred Valley, so guests should be sure to obtain some local currency upon arrival in Lima -- the airport has convenient exchange booths in the baggage claim area. On Day 2, you will not have an opportunity to visit an ATM in Lima as you will fly directly to Cusco in the morning. No ATMs are available in the Sacred Valley and ATMs/ banks are not available until Day 6 in Cusco. Language The primary language spoken in Peru is Spanish. You will also hear the indigenous language of Quechua spoken in the Cusco area.

23 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS How do I book my Adventures by Disney vacation? If you are in the United States, please call (800) to speak to a Vacationista, or contact your professional travel agent. If you are outside the United States, please call (866) to speak to avacationista, or contact your professional travel agent. Do I need vaccinations to travel to this country? Vaccinations to travel to the areas of Peru that are a part of the Adventures by Disney itinerary are not required if you are going to Peru from the U.S. (If you extend your stay to other parts of Peru, you are advised to consult the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. If you are not a U.S. citizen, please check your local requirements on vaccinations for travel to Peru. What airport do I fly into and out of? We will pick you up at the Lima International Airport (LIM) on your arrival day. You may arrive at any time on the arrival day and we will meet you at the airport accordingly. At the end of your adventure, we will transfer you back to the Lima International Airport (LIM). In order to enjoy the farewell lunch and festivities, your flight should not leave earlier than 7:00 PM on Day 8 or you may choose to depart the hotel any time up until hotel checkout time on Day 9. Are transfers included if I arrive or depart from different locations or at different times from the itinerary? No. Transfers are only included from the specified arrival/departure airports and hotels. For Peru, transfers are included from the Lima International Airport (LIM) in Lima to The Westin Lima Hotel on your arrival day. On your departure day, transfers are included from The Westin Lima Hotel back to the Lima International Airport (LIM). Can I extend my vacation beyond the Adventures by Disney itinerary? Pre- and Post-stays are available in Peru, please contact a Vacationista at (800) for further details. How will our group travel between destinations? You will travel round trip by a commercial airline between Lima and Cusco. Travel from Cusco to the Sacred Valley and other nearby sites will be by motor coach. Machu Picchu is reached by train and motor coach. Should I be concerned about altitude? Most of this adventure takes place at altitudes ranging from 8,000 to 12,500 ft. (2,400 to 3,800 m.) above sea level. Because the adventure starts in Lima (at sea level) and then continues to the lower Sacred Valley (9,200 ft. or 2,800 m.) and Machu Picchu (8,000 ft. or 2,400 m.), you have a chance

24 to get slightly acclimated before you reach the higher elevation of Cusco (11,200 ft. or 3,400 m.). Altitude does affect some people. Individuals may initially experience some shortness of breath and heart pounding. Other symptoms include: headaches, loss of appetite, nausea and feeling weak and dizzy. Generally, the effects of altitude sickness are mitigated by drinking lots of water, resting periodically, avoiding alcohol and eating lightly. We strongly encourage you to consult with your physician to determine if this adventure is appropriate for you and whether prescription medications to prevent altitude sickness might benefit you. How strenuous are the activities? This is a very active journey that includes walking through Inca ruins, on uneven surfaces, up and down irregular stairs and on cobblestone streets. Rafting on the Urubamba River (Class 2) is considered gentle. Bear in mind that most of the trip is at altitudes between 8,000 11,000 feet above sea level. The itinerary has been created purposely with the highest altitude (Cusco) towards the end of the adventure. While nearly all of the trip's featured activities are gentle if examined separately, the full range of activities requires a moderate to high amount of stamina in order to get the most of your vacation. What ages are appropriate for this adventure? While we welcome children ages 4 and up at the time of travel to discover the stories of the world with us, we recommend that children be at least 8 years old at the time of travel on our Peru trip. This is based on several factors, such as flight time and jet lag, time zone differences in the destination, duration of the vacation, high altitude at the destination, extended hours of daily activity programming, number of internal transports between experiences, potential for extreme temperatures in the summer months, and amount of physical activity (e.g., walking on uneven surfaces, up and down stairs, and cobblestone sidewalks) involved. Because each child is different, call avacationista at (800) to discuss whether this is the right trip for your kids. What types of meals are served on this Adventures by Disney Trip? Typically, breakfast is served buffet style. Some lunches and dinners are also served buffet style, while others offer a limited-choice menu. Dinners and lunches usually include fish, meat, and pasta or rice entrées, soup, vegetables, desserts and fruit, along with a chance to try Peruvian specialties. While the menus have been planned to give you a taste of typical Peruvian cuisine, they are always balanced with limited American fare. Given the nature of group travel, we regret that á la carte menu choices are not available. Children-friendly choices are available at all meals. Menu items are subject to change due to the availability and seasonality of foods. In order to offer you and your family a bit of time to enjoy meals amongst yourselves, there are a few meals that are not included in the itinerary. These meals have been planned in towns or cities where you will have plenty of options available. 25 Is alcohol included with meals? Alcoholic beverages are typically not included with your scheduled meals. However, you may purchase them at your own expense. Can you accommodate special dietary needs? Adventures by Disney will make a reasonable effort to accommodate some special dietary needs at no additional charge. Unfortunately, we may not be able to accommodate all special dietary needs requested. Please contact avacationista at (800) in advance of your departure to advise us of your needs. Is this itinerary appropriate for travelers with special needs? Please note that this vacation includes activities that present certain challenges to Guests with special needs. It is strongly recommended that persons requiring assistance be accompanied by a companion who is capable of and totally responsible for providing assistance. Peru has very limited accessibility. What if Adventures by Disney cancels the adventure prior to departure? We will make every reasonable effort to operate the vacations as advertised; however, we reserve the right to curtail or modify the itinerary, or to substitute activities, hotels, meals or transportation as we deem necessary. We further reserve the right to reduce the number of Adventure Guides to one, and to modify other services to accommodate a smaller group, if a minimum number of Guests is not reached. Similarly, we may marginally exceed the stated group maximum size if necessary to accommodate a family. Please also note that during certain holidays and peak periods, some activities may be disrupted or unavailable. None of these modifications or changes shall affect the land package price. We reserve the right to cancel a trip at any time prior to its commencement for any reason, such as if there are too few Guests, or if the quality of the trip or the safety of the Guests would, in our opinion, be compromised, such as may result from unforeseen circumstances (acts of God) or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control. If we cancel your trip prior to its commencement because there are too few Guests: (i) we will attempt to re-book you on another departure of the same itinerary, subject to availability, and we will bear any reasonable airline re-booking charges; however, if we are unable to rebook you, we will issue a full refund of your land package price and Plan (unless you have filed a claim); and (ii) if you booked airfare through us, we will issue a full refund of your airfare; and (iii) if you did not book airfare through us, we will reimburse you for your reasonable out-of-pocket (subject to proof) airline cancellation charges or, in the case of bookings using frequent flier miles, a reasonable cancellation service fee, provided you have exercised best efforts to mitigate such charges/fees; and (iv) the aforesaid payments and/or rebooking by us shall constitute a full settlement.
