He only received the sacrament of the extreme unction [because he died from] an accident. His bu.rial' was in rotu.ra de tierra of five pesos which belongs to the church. In Vritness whereof I certify. Fray Pedro Fuentes Fernandez [Rubric] Note The said soldier, [Juan Rodrigu.ez], died on the twentyninth day of the month of January. He was replaced by his

He wasbo.rn in Santiago 2v Monclova, Government of Coahuila. //He is a farmer. He was badly wounded in an arm during a fight between some Comanche Indians and a detachment of this presidio which took place on the twelfth day of August in the year seventeen hundred and seventy-five. He is of medium height. He is twenty years old. G He has black hair and thick black eyebrows. He has brown eyes. He has a short thick nose. He is white skinned. He has a heavy beard. He is pockmarked. He enlisted in this company of Bexar on the thirtieth da.y of January in the year seventeen hundred and seventyseven [to render services] to His Majesty for ten years. The penal law and the royal orders were read to him. He replaced his brother, Juan Rodriguez, who died yesterday.
