2 - Leaving Bilbao Akelarre Hostel Arriving at Getaria Getaria The sailor s town offers one of the most impressive views of the Basque coast. Very famous for its txakoli (one of the most appreciated in Euskadi), in the locality you will have the time to visit its interesting historical old town where you can find the Juan Sebastián Elkano monument. After taking a wallk by its ancient and charming streets, we suggest walking down to the fishing port. From there you can take a peak at the well known ratón de Getaria (Mouse of Guetaria), popular name given to the Hill San Antón, an island situated in front gipuzkoan town and represents a curious form of a rodent.

3 - Leaving Getaria Arriving at Zarautz Zarautz Zarautz, located at 20 km of San Sebastián, is very relevant for its extended urban beach in which is concentrated the main life of the village. Its length of 2 km from one point to another is the biggest extension in Guipúzcoa. It also has a very interesting old Town, where coexist middle age buildings like the Church of Santa María la Real with other different construction like the Narros Palace from the XVI, the Renaissance period. As a fun fact, in this guipuzcoan village that the mediated and famous Karlos Arguiñano has his restaurant

4 - Leaving Zarautz Arriving at Orio Orio Orio, another one of the most important places in the coast with the fishing tradition, it is also well known to be the cradle of some important Basque artists like the sculptor Jorge Oteiza or the singer composer Benito Lertxundi. It s also very famous for its big roaming tradition. The old part of the village, Goiko Kale, is from the XII century. It starts where the San Nicolás church and goes up until the chapel of San Martín. Its streets go up, steep, staggered, almost like a labyrinth grabbed to the rocks. Coat of arms, sandstone rocks, bright colour balconies and stoned street give it a medieval touch.

5 - Leaving Orio Arriving at San Sebastián San Sebastián: Pintxo road and visiting the Gipuzcoan capital! San Sebastián is considered as one of the most beautiful city of the peninsula. Tradition and modernity coexist in this small, yet big city with a touch of la Belle Epoque that has a cultural first class agenda. San Sebastián is, moreover, the world s pintxo capital. Gastronomy competes with the authenticity of the city, which is world Wide known cooking and its cooks who accumulate 16 stars.

6 The visit starts in the Gros neighbourhood where you can find Zurriola s beach, the most famous one between surf lovers. In front of it is situated the modern building, the Congreso Palace, El Kursaal, The building, a well known piece of architecture done by the architect Rafael Moneo front of the Cantabrique Sea, offers a view of two translucent cubes of glass, imitating two agrounded rocks it became the centre of the cultural life with more than 300 cultural events during the year, between which is really relevant is the International Cinema Festival.

7 Alter crossing the Urumea river, we suggest to the visitors to get to the old part of the town by foot to, on one side get a look a the lovely narrow streets and its authentic buildings, and on the other side, enjoy an assortment of the best pintxos of the world!!! After recovering some strength; you could enjoy a walk on the beautiful beach called La Concha to admire it. Its name, the shell, is for its singular shape and since 2007 it s a part of the 12 treasures list of Spain. Following that, you will stand on the foot of the Monte Igeldo, privileged tower that is located on the extreme best side of the Concha beach which offers an incredible panoramic view, contemplating from the cape of Matxitxako until the French Landes. To get there you can either take the cable car or go by foot.

8 At the foot of the Igeldo you can live the visual and sensorial experience that offers you the Peine de los Vientos,(wind comb) the sculpture made by the Basque sculptor Eduardo Chillida and that has become one of the most representative image of the city. - Leaving San Sebastián Arriving at Bilbao Akelarre Hostel
