Establishment of planned protected areas as statutory protected areas by Undertake restoration measures in areas with high restoration potential 4. Support Barents Protected Area Network (BPAN) as a regional initiative to protect intact forest 5. Ensure that intact forest in existing and planned protected areas are adequately preserved 6. Ensure stakeholder participation in preservation of intact forests as appropriate 7. Ensure sufficient long-term financing of preservation of intact forests 8. Improve knowledge about the intact forests 9. Monitor intact forest 10. Develop Regional strategies and Action Plans

7 Naturvårdsverket 7 Swedish Environmental Protection Agency Latest statement from WGE Suggestions: a) to develop a new strategy under the RU-SWE leadership; b) to continue cooperation without any strategy; c) to re-write the existing strategy to include the Russian comments, with Russia leading the work. Decision:

The aim is to discuss how shall we tackle the continued work with strategy and if we need a physical meeting. And in the last case when and where.
