3 Outstanding Results, June 2015 International Visitors to Mexico (Banxico) According to Banco de México, the number of international tourists traveling to Mexico surpassed 15.7 million during the first semester of The incoming of foreign currency from international visitors to Mexico in of 2015 register 9,175 million dollars. During the first half of 2015 the tourism balance was positive, totaling 4,423 million dollars; number higher than the record achieved in any similar period in a year. International visitors increased 6.6% in comparison to of 2014, reaching 43.1 million of visitors. The first quarter of 2015 shows 3.7 million people employed in Mexico tourism sector, which represented 8.1% of all national employment. Mexico is positioned in 30th place according to the Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Index 2015 Report from the World Economic Forum. Hotel Activity Domestic tourism The percentage of hotel occupation in a group of 70 resorts was 2.02 percentage points higher in comparison to their occupation in the first semester of 2014, reaching 59.7%. The arrival of domestic tourists to hotel rooms in these 70 resorts during the period of 2015 was more than 24.8 million people, being 3.9% higher than the number reached in 2014 during the same period. 1

4 Air Transportation The arrival of passengers by plane increased 11.6% in the first half of 2015 in comparison to the arrivals during the same period of 2014, reaching 27.0 million of air plane passengers. The arrival of passengers on domestic flights exceeded 17.3 million people; this is an increase of 12.5% in comparison to of Also, the number of domestic flights increased 5.0%. 9.7 million of passengers were recorded on international flights, which is an increase of 10.2% in comparison to the first semester of This result was accompanied by a higher number of international flights seen in the same period (8.7%). As for the number of people arriving by plane to Mexico by nationality, it was recorded during of 2015, shows that: Americans were the major group representing 57.3% of the total of air arrivals followed by Canadians with 14.3%; as for people arriving from Latin America and the Caribbean, Colombians stand out for having reached 2.5% increase of all arrivals. Maritime Transportation The ports that received the highest number of cruise passengers during the first semester of 2015 were the following: Cozumel (1,871,175), Ensenada (350,222) and Majahual (265,245); Majahual highlighted having an increase of 10.0% in comparison to the same period of According to Banco de México, total cruise passenger arrivals increased 8.7% in comparison to the period of

7 Thousands of tourists International visitors to Mexico Average Expense During the first half of 2015, the average expense of international visitors increased 2.2% in comparison to the same period of the previous year; the average expense of international tourists also get the similar increased. 8 For the same period, the most meaningful expenditure of long-stay tourists was made by those arriving by air totaling 7,400 million dollars (94.9%). Chart 7. 9 International Visitors to Mexico Arriving by Air International Passengers In of 2015, notes the American air-coming visitors, representing 57.3% of all international passengers arriving by air. From the Latin America and the Caribbean region, the country with the highest number of arrivals into Mexico was Colombia with 189,770 visitors, increasing 33.4%. 12 Thousands of people Domestic Hotel Activity Arrival of Tourists to Hotels In the period of 2015, the arrival of domestic tourists to hotel rooms was over 24.8 million tourists (74.6%), the remaining arrivals (25.4%) was of foreign tourists. The number of passengers by air arriving on international flights increased 10.2% exceeding 9.7 million of passengers during the first half of 2015 with 897,271 additional passengers in comparison to the same period of the previous year. 14 Main Airports In the first half of 2015, the airports that received the most international passengers were: Cancun (3,536,058), México City (1,588,621), Puerto Vallarta (695,180), Los Cabos (669,992) and Guadalajara (360,614); which represents 89.6% of all international passengers. 15 Thousands of passengers Maritime Transportation Passengers of Tourism Cruises During the first semester of 2015, the number of cruise passengers reached 3,283,875 passengers; this is an increase of 8.7% in comparison to the same period of the previous year.. 17 Employed People Tourism Employment Data available for the first quarter of 2015 shows 3.7 million people employed in Mexico tourism sector, which represented 8.1% of all national employment, with 0.23% higher in comparison to the same period of the previous year.
