The Port of Kobe is the second largest trading port in Japan. Kobe Harborland is a beautiful shopping and entertainment district situated along the waterfront. Next to the tower, between Meriken Park and Kobe Harborland, sits the Nakatottei Chuo Terminal where sightseeing boats depart on lunch and dinner cruises around Kobe Bay and to the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge. Meriken Park is about a ten minute walk south of Motomachi Station or just across the sightseeing cruise terminal from Kobe Harborland. About 1km south of Shin-Kobe Station, Sannomiya Station is the main rail hub for intercity Hankyu, Hanshin and JR trains to Osaka and Kyoto. There are no trains on Awaji Island. Also, Sumoto Hot Springs is the biggest hot spring town in Awaji. With outdoor hot springs and a scenic bath, Sumoto Hot Springs is a great place to unwind and experience Japanese hot spring culture.
