1 JNTO Overseas News Release The Toll Road Pass (AIP) is now available. It offers visitors a way to use the Tool Road at an inexpensive, unlimited flat rate. A first-time collaboration between the Prefectural Road Public Corporation and the Central Nippon Expressway Company Limited in order to expand inbound tourism. On April 1, 2016, the Prefectural Road Public Corporation and Nagoya Branch of Central Nippon Expressway Company Limited will commence sale of the " Toll Road Pass" (AIP), which allows unlimited use of toll roads belonging to the Prefectural Road Public Corporation, for international visitors using the "Central Nippon Expressway Pass" (CEP), which allows unlimited use of expressways. This, along with the "Nagoya Expressway Pass" (NEP), which went on sale in February, will set a flat rate and allow unlimited use of expressways from Chubu Centrair International Airport to tourist destinations, including Shirakawa-go, Kanazawa, Mt. Fuji, Kyoto, and Ise-Shima, and will enable wider use of the CEP for international visitors. <Advantages of the CEP, NEP and AIP> (1) This pass offers unlimited use of expressways within the designated area for a period of 2 to 14 days at a flat rate. CEP, NEP and AIP users can enjoy visiting fascinating and enjoyable tourist destinations such as Shirakawa-go, Kanazawa, Mount Fuji and Kyoto. (2) The customers pay a flat fee prior to using the expressways and use the ETC lane, allowing them to pass through the toll plazas without stopping to pay. This makes it a highly convenient product for visiting foreigners not familiar with Japanese expressways. 1. Available period To October 31, 2016 (Monday) The AIP is valid until September 30, 2016(Friday). (Available for 2 14 consecutive days during this period.) 2. Availability Persons bearing passports of a foreign country and Japanese persons who are permanent residents of a foreign country(however the person must have a driver's license that is valid for use in Japan.) 3. Valid vehicle types Use is limited to the ETC-equipped vehicles (standard-size automobiles) that are provided by the rental car companies and the ETC credit cards that are also provided by the rental car companies. 4. Unlimited Expressway Area CEP: All expressway sections that are managed by Central Nippon Expressway Company Limited 1
