1 March 22, 2016 Preliminary Operational Statistics for KIX and ITM for February 2016 [Number of aircraft movements at KIX] Historical record high for February for the total number of aircraft movements and the number of aircraft movements in international flights Historical record high as a single year for the total number of aircraft movement in FY (April to February) exceeding the total in FY 2014 (April to March) in eleven months KIX achieved the total international aircraft movements of 13,763, exceeding the record high in its history for February with both LCCs and FSCs continuously increasing international flights focusing on Asia. The number of total aircraft movements in international flights was 10,146, which exceeded the record high in its history for February. (The best record of the total number of aircraft movements in February was 11,624 in, and the best record as a single month in history was 14,962 in August.) (The best record of the number of international aircraft movements in February was 7,539 in, while the best record as a single month was 10,435 in December.) In addition, the total number of aircraft movements in FY (April to February) exceeded the total in FY 2014 (April to March) which had been the historical high as a single year so far in eleven months. (The total number of aircraft movements in FY (April to February) was 154,437, while the total in FY2014 (April to March) was 145,037, which had been the best record as a single year in history) [Number of passengers at KIX] Historical record high for February for the total number of passengers and the number of international passengers The number of foreign passengers in international flights was a record high in history as a single month exceeding for the first time 1 million passengers since the opening of the airport. The total number of passengers in FY (April to February) exceeded the total in FY2014 (April to March) in eleven months, registering a record high as a single year in history) The total number of passengers was 2.03 million, a record high for February in its history. The number of international passengers was 1.53 million, a record high for February in its history. Since the number of foreign passengers from Asia recorded the largest share in the domestic airports in the calendar year and many foreign passengers focusing on Asia used the airport during February in which Spring Festival and the Lunar New Year were celebrated, the number of international foreign passengers was 1.03 million, a record high as a single month in history, exceeding 1 million for the first time since the opening of the airport. In addition, the number of Japanese passengers in international flights was 480 thousand exceeding New Kansai International Airport Co., Ltd.
