4 Expanded Itinerary Saturday MAY 18TH Catania / Modica / Ragusa Arrival at the airport in Catania and transportation to hotel accomodations. Before dinner meet with our guide / host for the welcome cocktail and tour presentation. Dinner and overnight. Sunday MAY 19TH Donnafugata / Ragusa / Modica / Scicli We ll spend the day exploring the province of Ragusa! We will see the Donnafugata Castle, the Church of San Giorgio, and Modica s historic city center. While in Modica, we ll sample some of the chocolate the city is famous for. We will spend the afternoon in Scicli where you will have free time. Scicli is home to the via Mormino Penna (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). Dinner and overnight. monday MAY 20TH Siracusa / Noto In the morning we ll visit the Archaeological sites of Siracusa. After the excursion, we will take a relaxing boat ride to the isle of Ortigia, we will have a light lunch or schiticchio while on board. After lunch we will go to Noto where you will have free time. Dinner and overnight. tuesday MAY 21st Caltagirone / Piazza Armerina We will spend the morning in Calagirone, a village known for its gorgeous ceramics. After the visit, we will travel to Piazza Armerina where will enjoy a cooking class and make lunch! After lunch we ll tour the Villa Romana del Cassale which has some of the best preserved mosaics in the world. Dinner and overnight. wednesday MAY 22nd Agrigento / Mazara We will spend the day exploring the Valley of the Temples, the largest archaeological site in the world. We will have a relaxing lunch in Mazara del Vallo, a beautiful seaside town before spending the afternoon in Marsala. Dinner and overnight. thursday MAY 23rd Mothia / Marsala You will start the day by journeying to the island of Mothia, visit its expansive archaeological site and enjoy the island s Whitaker Museum, named after the archaeologist who bought and excavated the island. Visit a local winery and enjoy wine tasting with a light lunch. In the afternoon walk to the historic center of Marsala and enjoy free time for shopping and relaxation. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight. friday MAY 24TH San Vito Lo Capo / Zingaro Reserve We ll spend the morning at the Zingaro reserve, a beautiful nature reserve with sweeping beaches and fauna. We ll have lunch in San Vito Lo Capo and you ll have free time in the afternoon to explore the city or swim on the beach. Dinner and overnight. saturday MAY 25TH San Vito Lo Capo / Zingaro Reserve Breakfast at the hotel and departure. Ask about connecting you Sicilia Classica journey to our Amalfi Autentica trip beginning May 25th! If you choose to continue on to the AICC s Amalfi coast trip, Amalfi Autentica, departure will be to Naples.

5 Trip Specifics The cost of this 8 day, 7 night trip to Sicily is $1, Per Person (double occupancy) with early-bird registration, or $1, standard registration. Single rooms at $1, with early-bird registration, or $1, with standard registration. $300 non-refundable deposit due by Ferbruary 1st, The trip begins on Saturday, May 18th, 2019 and ends on Saturday, May 25th, Ask us about combining your trip with the AICC s Amalfi Autentica starting May 25th! Final payment is due by April 1st, Early-bird registration deadline is March 15th, 2019 Your Trip Cost Includes: - Tour bus with local guide or tour guide (multilingual on request), from the dinner on the day of arrival to the end of the Friday excursion. - All meals included - Beverages with meals: 1/4 liter of wine, 1/2 liter of mineral water per person per meal and coffee at the end of lunch. - Welcome cocktail - Modican chocolate tasting. - Wine tasting - 1 Cooking lesson with lunch / tasting in Piazza Armerina. - Use audio-receiving devices for the duration of the tour. - 4-star hotel system. - Two evening outings after dinner, at the planned overnight stay, with transfer at fixed time. - Specialized guides in Agrigento, Mothia, Ragusa, Modica, Syracuse, in addition to the local guide - Access to the AICC Traveler s Italian Classes Your Trip Cost Does Not Include: - Airfare (The AICC can assist with booking flights if needed. This trip involves walking. The tour includes moderate physical activity. The itinerary blends some longer days with shorter days and more leisure time.
