4 4 Damnoen Saduak Floating Market: Rachaburi Province The Damnoen Saduak District of Ratchaburi first showed itself to the eyes of the tourist world in 1967 when pictures were seen of a market trading on water. Where paddle boats loaded with all of life's necessities plied their trade up and down the river. The various vendors are often dressed in dark clothing, similar to that worn by workers in the fields, their faces shielded from the strong rays of the sun by hats made from bamboo and palm leaves. They paddle up and down the waterway selling and bartering their merchandise. It is generally known as Klong Ton Khem Floating Market or Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. Nowadays, the market buses with activity from very early in the morning until about am. However, at Wat Prasart Sit Floating Market, which has maintained its old style and traditions the market operates from very early in the morning, but begins to wind down before 8.00 am.

5 5 Rose Garden: Nakhon Pathom Province This popular tourist attraction is 32 kms. west of Bangkok on the bank of the Thachin river. It boasts large, beautiful and well- maintained gardens and is ideal for a picnic. Admission to the garden is 10 Baht. In the resort there is a Thai cultural village where daily at 2.45 pm. an attractive show comences. There are for instance, Thai folk dancing, Thai boxing, sword fighting demonstrations and elephant show. Admission to this show is 220 Baht. The resort can be reached by local buses from the Southem Bus Terminal. It is open daily from 8.00 am to 6.00 pm.

6 6 Coral Island (Kho Larn): Chonburi Province Kho Larn situated to the West of Pattaya Strait, about 7.7 Kilometers from the shore, covering an area of about 4 square kilometers. There are beautiful beaches, clear water, and an abundance of coral. Visitors can view the coral either from a glass-bottom boat or by diving down directly. A well-known beach is at Ta Waen Beach in the northern part of the Island, a 750 meters stretch of white sand with many stalls andshops. Sightseeing boats mostly dock in this area. There are also Laemtien Beach and Samae Beach on the southwestern side, each beach spanning a length of 700 and 100 meters respectively. Both are regarded as beautiful and interesting sports, especially Laemtien Beach which has remainedexceptionally clean and tranquil. There are now a few stores servisitors. Ta Pan Beach on the western part of the island is 500 meters in length with make-shift lodging available. On Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, sightseeing boats usually dock along this beach all the way to Laemtie where there is coral. On the southern part is Nual Beach 450 meters in length. On this beach a hotel which accommodates a large number of tourists. This is another good place for viewing coral.

7 7 Pattaya Beach: Chonburi Province Sand, sun and fun make Pattaya one of the most popular destinations for visitors to Thailand. Pattaya, on the eastern coast of the Gulf of Thailand, was a small fishing village until the early 1960's when it was 'invaded' by American soldiers and sailors seeking rest and recreation while on leave from serving in Vietnam. It has since blossomed into a cosmopolitan city dedicated to the pursuit of excitement, pleasure and adventure.

8 8 Nong Nooch Tropical Garden: Chonburi Province Nongnooch Tropical Garden is a tourist attraction amidst natural surroundings. Nongnooch Village orchids and gardens with flowering plants, mangoes, orchids, and other types of flora. Thai style teak wood houses are available for rent. There is also a zoo and Thai Cultural Centre showcasing the art of Thai performing art, martial arts, folk sports and performances by elephants. Performances are held triple daily at a.m., 3 p.m. and 3.5 kilometres before reaching the destination. Additional information may be obtained from the office in Pattaya City on Central Pattaya Road.

9 9 Pattaya Floating Market: Chonburi Province Pattaya Floating Market was opened to the public in November 2008.The area of Pattaya s latest attraction which is situated on an approximately area of 100,000 square meters. It is divided into 4 separate parts, each with its own unique location, represents the four regions of Thailand: Northern -, Central -, North-Eastern and Southern region and offering a special blend of differing traditions. More than 80 paddle boats are on standby to ferry visitors around the compound along many Thai style teak wood buildings, linked by a network of canals, bridges and a number of different sized islands with exotic plants and trees.the boat trip will slowly expose the richness of the surrounding architectural and cultural river side living. Water vendors moving with their paddle boats from dock to dock and offering their unique range of freshly cooked delicious traditional Thai dishes. Pattaya Floating Market provides daily several cultural performances, native to the four regions of the country, like Thai classical dance, martial art demonstrations,as well as water boxing where the fighters perform on a horizontal slipery pole above the canal. Painters do show their artificial works, like umbrella and portrait painting.pattaya Floating Market has recently provided Amphibian-boat rides, an agricultural rice field demonstration, authentic House-boats for home stay, and 10 mud-houses just right beside the rice field zone.
