The location of our park was chosen to provide a natural habitat. We are also against the practice of elephant painting and the training of elephants to dance and to sit or stand on two legs. We consider these practices unnatural and abusive. Our goal is to teach visitors about the importance elephant preservation and proper eating, sleeping, bathing, and exercising methods. One method of providing exercise for our elephants and a learning experience for our visitors is to allow visitors, to a limited extent, to ride elephants "bareback." As you can imagine, caring for exploited and abused elephants is a continuous, difficult, and costly process. We need and encourage volunteerism and contributions a.m. Pick up from your hotel in Chiang Mai town. We will drive through agricultural Thai countryside North of Chiang Mai for One hour to Baan Chang Elephant Park where you learn, how to be a Mahout (Elephant caretaker). At the Park, the Elephant Mahout Guide will give you first useful information's about the Thai Elephants. You get instructions for guiding and riding your elephant as well you get the chance to feed them. After lunch, it's time to show what you had learnt in the morning. You sit on the back of the Elephant and try to control him during the ride through the beautiful forest and country side for about 1.5 hours as well you learn how to guide the Elephant into the river. There you get new skills in bathing and washing your Elephant. From the river bank, the guide will take some picture of you while you take care in bathing your elephant. When we return to the main hut from the river, at the coffee shop some Tea, Coffee or Water will be served. 10

8 Around 3.30 pm it's time to say goodbye to a lovely Elephants and Baan Chang Elephant Park. Back to Chiang Mai you will be dropped off at hotel. This journey will take us through quiet green land roads and will bring us by the former capital of Lana - which boasts of temples and ruins dating back hundreds of years. Along this cycling adventure we will visit a Chinese temple, the McKean rehabilitation center, a small potterymaking factory, and much more. We will also have the wonderful opportunity to pay a visit to a special school for monks, or an elementary school which is mostly attended by hill tribe children. We will then continue to ride along the Ping River, which showcases Chiang Mai in a different light. From here, our cycling adventure will bring us to several local places, like a candy factory, a local bakery, and other small shops. We will eventually reach a local fresh market, where you can sample some of the most delicious and exotic fruits in the area. During the trip, we will stop every hour to rest and hydrate. Halfway through, we will provide you with a small Thai meal (Kao Soy Kai) in a local restaurant. Notes: The visit to the school may not be available during weekends and school holidays. Arrive at Phi Phi Ley where you can explore the fantastic landscape of Maya Bay - the location where the movie "The Beach" was partially filmed. Enjoy swimming or snorkelling with the colourful fish and exploring Loh Samah Bay and Pileh Cove. Phi Phi Ley is also home to the Viking Cave, a large limestone cavern where ancient rock paintings can be found. These paintings are believed to resemble Viking ships and are predicted to be over 3000 years old. Due to the sea conditions we are not able to go ashore in the cave but admire it from our boat.
