1 Landscove Barns Region: Devon Sleeps: Overview Featured in The Sunday Times The Best Christmas Holiday Escapes 2017 First constructed from Cornish and Devonshire stone over 200 years ago, this barn complex encircles a central courtyard offering a classic example of the architecture of the era. Inside however, they boast stylish, contemporary design and comfort to rival the finest 5 star hotel. In the last few years this former dairy farm has been transformed from derelict ruin to a luxurious and modern rural retreat. The farm itself has also been rejuvenated, with the owners introducing livestock, harvesting the orchard and many other vegetables, there's even a new lake with duck house. One enters through a superb towering archway with large wooden gates into a space where all the suites and cottages are located. All have been sympathetically created within these beautiful structures. Each of the barns has been restored in such a way as to reflect the evolution of the building over the centuries. Above head, stunning hand sawn timbers, rafters and purlins have all been retained along with many of the original features of the dairy. Whilst the floors have all been kitted out with underfloor heating, and a stylish apartment style aesthetic that looks more New York studio than cutesy Devon barn! The rawness of the design emphasizes the luxurious accommodation with bathrooms done in a chic style including Italian marble bathtubs and the bedrooms furnished with superb comfortable beds adorned with crisp white linen. For all except one of the barns there is a fold out sofa that can accommodate an extra two guests, meaning a total of 20 can stay at the barns. They are right next to Landscove House, and can be rented together for an incredible wedding or celebration. There is a professional kitchen, and spectacular big barn with glass roof for entertaining. Many of the suites and cottages have their own kitchens and can be configured in a variety of ways. ***Landscove House guests have priority over the swimming pool. 3 Interior & Grounds There are six barn suites that can be configured in a variety of ways. All accommodation has attached baths beautifully finished using Italian marble and designed with a contemporary feel. Pamper yourself with Molton Brown toiletries, fluffy towels and gowns. All the beds have pocket spring mattresses Egyptian cotton sheets and feather pillows. A few steps from the barns there is a large professional kitchen/dining area that can seat There is an extra fee for use of this space, which must be negotiated with the owner. Most suites have their own fully equipped kitchens. Barn Suites one and two are independent but Barn Suites three to six are all connected so they can form one large four bedroom house. The Barn rooms are available for Bed and Breakfast or the entire house for rent Barn Room 1 Barn Room 1 is a one bedroom cottage with vaulted ceilings. It has its own kitchen with washer/drier, fridge, micro and convection ovens, electric hob and dishwasher. There is a cosy living and dining area with sofa bed that sleeps 2 additional people or a fun sleeping loft area for those energetic kids. There is a large two person soaking tub as well as a separate wet room rain shower. For bed and breakfast clients we provide a continental tray with cook your own option in your room. Sleeps 2 to 4 persons Barn Room 2 Barn Room 2 is a spacious studio style suite with vaulted ceilings and has a wall of glass that looks out onto the courtyard. The luxurious bathroom features a large soaking tub and there is a super king size four poster bed. This light and spacious barn has a small kitchenette with refrigerator, micro, stove top and sink (ideal for storing the champagne and caviar) or preparing small meals. 4 Barn Room 3 Barn room three has an extra large four poster bed that sits majestically beneath the original beamed ceilings. The private bath with wet room shower has a large two person soaking tub This suite can be connected to Barn room 4 which has a substantial kitchen, living and dining area. It also has its own private entrance and can be rented on its own or together with the other adjoining rooms dependant on the size of party. Sleeps 2 persons Barn Room 4 Barn room 4 forms part of the main barn kitchen and living areas.this area contains the bath and shower and is normally combined with either barn room 3 or 5 to form a large 2, 3 or 4 bedroom cottage. The bed configuration can be either twin or double. There is also the option to have additional young adult sleepers in this room as both beds have pullout mattresses beneath them Sleeps 2-4 persons Barn Room 5 Barn room five is a large suite that has a large two person tub sitting majestically under the old arches of the barn. The bathroom has a wet room style shower. There is a super king size bed. Sleeps 2 to 4 persons Barn Room 6 Barn room 6 is a large studio cottage with fantastic character and was formerly used to house the bulls in the winter. Now a little less basic it has its own kitchen with washer/drier, fridge, micro and convection ovens, electric hob and dishwasher. There is a spacious living and dining area with sofa bed that sleeps 2 additional people. The bathroom is extra large suitable for persons with certain disabilities and access and egress is suitable for wheelchairs. Its picturesque location puts guests at the heart of everything the South Hams and Devon has to offer, including Dartmoor and the South Devon coast. These are only a short distance away.
