4 THE CATEGORIES As a sponsor of our categories you gain awareness and profile from the awards themselves and your brand being seen in front of hundreds of industry professionals at the EHA Awards on the 9th November 2017 in London. Green Hotel of the Year The Green Hotel Award recognises a hotel that maximises environmental operations within the hotel and efficient and innovative use of energy consumption. This category is open to all hotels making big steps in this area. Opening of the Year - New build This category recognises new project that highlight innovative structural and interior design solutions in new build. This award will look at hotels opened for guests only from January 2015 May Opening of the Year - Renovation or Conversion The award encompasses interior design, building use and creative use of space. This award will look at hotels opened for guests only from January 2015 May Best Future Hospitality Building - Hotel, Bar, Restaurant - Under Construction and Drawing Board This award is to celebrate the interior design and structural design of any hospitality building project. Whether it is a hotel, a restaurant, or a bar it will be assessed on the merits of all aspects design within that project. Best Hotel Suite We are looking at Interior design & use of space within the Suite. This also includes the technology used within the Suite. Entries can include a full or part refurbishment, both new builds and restoration projects and should show high levels of creativity and innovation. Best Use of Technology Recognises hotels that have implemented technology to make the hotel more appealing to the guest, elevated the brand or defined the modernisation of the front and back office of the hotel. Hotelier of the Year A personal award. This award will honour a GM and MD who stands out among their peers making a difference to the hotel in reputation, service and new business. This is a self-nominating category. Hotel Spa of the Year The hotel spa award recognises the best use of interior space and spa installation. How the spa has had an impact of the reputation and brand of the hotel and how individual it is. This award can also recognize the supplier to which the hotel had contracted as well as the hotel. Innovation in Service The Hotel Service Award will reward the hotel that presents impeccable service, guest retention and guest satisfaction. Service is a major element to a hotels success and this EH Award will reward the hotel s reputation and staff. We are looking for hotels which are providing solutions to improve their guests comfort. Best Hotel Restaurant Nominations for this category must be for restaurants which are run in conjunction with the hotel. Best Hotel Bar Nominations for this category must be for hotel bars which are run in conjunction with the hotel. Lifetime Achievement in the Hotel Community Recognises a person for service to the Hotel Community and their body of work. This award will be awarded by the judges of the EH Awards. (You cannot enter this category). The Hotel of the Year Winner This category will be awarded to one of the winners from each of the EHA 2017 categories. (You cannot enter this category).

5 THE CATEGORIES NEW FOR 2017 EHA in association with Elite Traveler and Spear s are delighted to announce the New Luxury Awards Categories for LUXURY AWARDS 2017 European Beach Resort of the Year The indomitable popularity of the French Riviera shows no sign of abating, and with new hot spots appearing along the Mediterranean, the Adriatic and beyond, here we identify and celebrate the very best beach resorts in Europe. Must have a beach for use of resort guests only. International Beach Resort of the Year From the crystal clear waters of the Mexican coast to Thailand s tropical islands, there are an abundance of beaches for the international traveler to explore. Azure waters and white sand beaches are a must, as are stunning views and exemplary service. Must have a beach for use of resort guests only. Private Island Resort of the Year For those seeking more privacy from their holiday destination only a private island resort will do. Offering the ultimate in escapism we re looking for the top private island resorts and exclusive use private islands. Must be located on a private island. European Golf Resort of the Year Whether it s the Scottish behemoth Gleneagles or the legendary Golf de Morfontaine, Europe has a plethora of challenging and championship courses. Though Scotland is the home of the sport, we ll be looking across Europe for the best European Golf Resorts out there. Must include at least one 18 hole golf course. International Golf Resort of the Year Looking at the resort in general as well as the golf course, these hotels with have all the amenities expected of a five star luxury hotel, but with the added bonus of some world class golf. Must include at least one 18 hole golf course. Best Cruise Line of the Year With Michelin starred restaurants, on board spas and luxurious cabins that mimic the penthouse suite of one of the world s top hotels, cruise lines are more akin to floating palaces these days. This brand new category will explore the best cruise ships out there. US Hotelier of the Year Recognising someone who has gone above and beyond and raised the profile of their own brand, as well as the industry as a whole. Whether this is through a tireless pursuit of enhanced sustainability or helping the community in which the hotel lies, this award recognises hotelier excellence. Best Boutique Hotel Open to all hotels between rooms. This category is judged on the service quality and hotel ambiance. This is a self-nominating category, so tell us why you feel you are the best boutique hotel in Europe.
