4 2015 Academy Show Details RALEIGH SPRING PREMIER Date: Saturday, March 21 st, 2015 Time: 9:00AM Location: J.B. Hunt Horse Complex 1025 Blue Ridge Rd Raleigh, NC Judge: Kent Swalla Host Hotel: Hampton Inn 111 Hampton Woods Lane Raleigh, NC Other Area Hotels: Hawthorn Suites By Wyndham Ramada Raleigh Wingate By Wyndham Description: This is our first official Academy Show of the 2015 Show Season. Only an hour and a half away, it is a great one to get the year started! The climate controlled show arena with covered a warm-up arena make it a customer favorite. The Performance Team will also be competing Thursday through Saturday, making it a great get away for a horse show filled weekend in Raleigh! This horse show counts for ASHA Academy Medal Points, as well as ASAC High Points as an A show. 4 of 19

Hunt Horse Complex 1025 Blue Ridge Rd Raleigh, NC Judge: TBA Host Hotel: Hampton Inn 111 Hampton Woods Lane Raleigh, NC Other Area Hotels: Hawthorn Suites By Wyndham Ramada Raleigh Wingate By Wyndham Description: In April, we go back to Raleigh for another wonderful show in the spring! The climate-controlled show arena with covered a warm-up arena make it a great place to show in the spring when rain is a strong possibility. The Performance Team will also be competing Thursday through Saturday, making it a great get away for a horse show filled weekend in Raleigh! This horse show counts for ASHA Academy Medal Points, as well as ASAC High Points as an A show. 5 of 19
6 DALLAS SUMMER CLASSIC Date: Saturday, May 23 rd, 2015 Time: 12:00PM Location: Biggerstaff Arena 1303 Dallas Cherryville Hwy Dallas, NC Judge: TBA Area Hotels: Holiday Inn Express Days Inn Description: This is a fun, outdoor horse show on Memorial Day Weekend! Located an hour and a half away from Winston-Salem, it is a small old-fashioned horse show great for a family picnic in a beautiful park. The Performance Team will also be competing Friday and Saturday, making it a great getaway for this holiday weekend! This horse show counts for ASHA Academy Medal Points, as well as ASAC High Points as a B show. 6 of 19
7 BLOWING ROCK CHARITY Date: Saturday, June 6 th, 2015 Time: 9:00AM Location: Blowing Rock Equestrian Preserve 1280 Laurel Lane Blowing Rock, NC Judge: TBA Area Hotels: Green Park Inn Meadowbrook Inn & Suites And so many more! Description: This horse show is a smaller show and precedes the Blue Ridge Classic Horse Show. Located outside of Asheville, it is a great show to escape the humidity and visit the mountains! The facility includes an indoor arena with a covered warm-up arena. It is also the highlight show of our July Academy Summer Day Camp! Campers receive a discounted rate! This horse show counts for ASHA Academy Medal Points, as well as ASAC High Points as a B show. 7 of 19

13 NATIONAL ACADEMY CHAMPIONSHIPS Date: Friday, October 30 th Sunday, November 1 st, 2015 Time: Fri-10:00AM & 6:00PM, Sat-9:00AM & 6:00PM, Sun-10:00AM Location: Tennessee Miller Coliseum 304B West Thompson Lane Murfreesboro, Tennessee Judges: TBA Recommended Hotel: Embassy Suites Nashville SE-Murfreesboro 1200 Conference Center Blvd Murfreesboro, TN Other Area Hotels: Comfort Suites Candlewood Suites Fairfield Inn Hampton Inn And Suites Sleep Inn Description: The National Academy Championships is the largest Academy Show in the country! Riders from all over come to compete for the National Title. Scheduled over Halloween Weekend, Trick-or-Treating in the barns is a fun event, along with many other events scheduled throughout the show weekend. The climate-controlled show arena with covered a warm-up arena make it a great place to show when we never know if it will be hot or cold in TN. This horse show counts for ASHA Academy Medal Points. If you are interested in joining the 2015 Legacy National Academy Team, ask your Instructor or the Legacy Office for more details. 13 of 19
14 Industry Membership Guidelines - Academy As part of the Academy Team, you have the option to gain recognition for your success in the show ring through various Industry Associations. Below is a guideline of what memberships to obtain before your first show. Visit the Points Systems page under Services to learn more about these programs. American Saddlebred Horse Association (ASHA) In order to accumulate points for the Academy Medal and Master Medal Award Programs, and Saddle Time, the RIDER must be a member of ASHA. Membership is valid from December 1, 20xx-November 30, 20xx, and must be renewed annually. Cost is $30 for a Junior Member (under 18 on Dec. 1), and $70 for a Senior Member (over 18 on Dec. 1) Go to to register/renew online. Once registered, please provide the Legacy Office with a copy of your ASHA Membership Card for our records. United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) If you would like to become a USEF High-School Athlete, the RIDER must be a member of USEF, and send in an application for the program. Membership is valid from December 1, 20xx November 30, 20xx, and must be renewed annually (or every three years if you choose that option-see below). Cost is $55 for Juniors and Seniors per year or $165 for three years for the membership, and $15 per year for the application fee. Go to to register/renew your membership online. Once registered, please provide the Legacy Office with a copy of your USEF 15 of 19
15 Membership Card for our records. American Saddlebred Association of the Carolinas (ASAC) If you would like to accumulate points for the ASAC High Point Awards, the RIDER must be a member of ASAC. Membership is valid from January 1, 20xx-December 31, 20xx, and must be renewed annually. Cost is $10 for Juniors (18 and Under), and $20 for Seniors (19 and Older). Go to to download the form. The form and CHECK payment must be mailed in to the address at the bottom of the form. Once registered, please provide confirmation to the Legacy Office that you have sent it in for our records. You will not receive a membership card for ASAC. North Carolina Horse Council (NCHC) To show at the Southern Horse Festival Horse Show in November, the EXHIBITOR must be a member of NCHC and ASAC. Membership is valid from the date of payment through December 31, 20xx, and must be renewed annually. Cost is $10 for Junior Members (under 18) and $20 for Individual Members (18 and over). Go to to register online. Once registered, please provide the Legacy Office with a copy of your NCHC Membership Card for our records. 16 of 19
