2 Originally a private retreat of the Brink family, Chitwa Chitwa was transformed by Charl into an oasis of conservation and harmony. His dedicated approach and wise land management are aimed at the handing of an uncontaminated African paradise to the future generations. In 1991 Charl and Maria Brink created Chitwa Chitwa Private Game Lodge, today a jewel of South African hospitality and an emblem of the savannas most authentic and refined luxury. The most unique setting of the Sabi Sand on the largest perennial lake. The stylish and spacious individually decorated suites remain very private and are ideal for honeymooners and couples. One of the few luxury lodges in the Sabi Sand to accept children of all ages. 3 LOCATION Sabi Sand, South Africa Set on the banks of one of the largest lakes of the exclusive hectare Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve, which forms part of the greater Kruger National Park. Chitwa is located at : S, E Directions to Chitwa Chitwa Map of Sabi Sand PLAINS GETTING TO CHITWA BY AIR: The lodge is easily accessible by air from Oliver Tambo in Johannesburg with a flying time of approximately 1 and a half hours. Direct connecting flights are also available from Kruger International which take just over half an hour and from Eastgate Airport in Hoedspruit with 25 minutes flying time. BY ROAD: The road transfer from Johannesburg to Chitwa Chitwa takes approximately 5 hours. The lodge is situated in the northern area of the Sabi Sand and access if via Gowrie Gate, near the Orpen Gate of the Kruger National Park. Chitwa Chitwa is a scenic three-hour drive from Nelspruit. 7 PAYMENT POLICY Reservations are to be pre-paid 30 days prior to arrival All credit cards accepted with a 4% surcharge for credit card payments All transfer of funds are to be made nett of any charges CANCELLATION POLICY 25% of booking value charged if cancellation is 45 to 31 days prior to arrival 50% of booking value charged if cancellation is 30 to 15 days prior to arrival 100% of booking value charged if cancellations is 14 days or less prior to arrival All reservations, amendments or cancellations are valid only if advised and accepted in writing. CHILDREN POLICY Children who have not yet turned 3 by the date of arrival stay free of charge Children from the age of 3 up to their 6th birthday will be charged 25% Children from the age of 6 up to their 12th birthday will be charged 50% Children 12 years and older sharing with adults will be charged full adult rate. Children under 6 will not be allowed on game drives unless parents have the sole use of the vehicle. Vehicle exclusivity must be pre-booked.
