The largest art museum in Western Canada, the Gallery presents major exhibitions of historic and contemporary art and houses a collection a more than 10,000 works, including the most comprehensive collection of the work of beloved Canadian artist Emily Carr. The Gallery offers the city s premier cultural experience and is conveniently located downtown within walking distance of major hotels and the Vancouver Convention Centre. The Vancouver Art Gallery is currently housed in a stunning neoclassical heritage building, originally the provincial courthouse. Choose from several inspired event spaces, including the grand foyer and rotunda with a soaring, four-story dome and twin marble staircases or one of the original historic courtrooms, complete with judge s bench and rich oak woodwork. A rooftop pavilion overlooking Robson Square provides one of the most dramatic bird s-eye views in the city. Guided exhibition tours are also offered, providing your guests with an exclusive art experience. Private-guided tours are available before, during and after regular Gallery hours of operation. Our Gallery Rentals staff work in concert with a group of preferred event partners to ensure that your experience is exceptional. For a listing of our preferred partners, please see page 10. Rental clients may also request an electronic version of our rental policies and procedures prior to contract. Please note that clients are required to submit a list of all vendors to the Gallery s rental coordinator at least 30 days prior to the event. All vendors must adhere to the museum s policies and procedures. All event logistics must be approved by the Gallery s rental coordinator. Due to strict conditions affecting works of art, all decorations, lighting, floral, ice sculptures, displays, audio/visual and sound equipment must be approved by the Gallery 30 days in advance of the event. Photography is not permitted in the exhibition galleries. Please note: The Vancouver Art Gallery is available for private event only.
