1 Detailed Itinerary Day 01 Arrive St. Petersburg Welcome to your 'Instant Russia' tour! On arrival in St. Petersburg, your local representative greets you at the 'meeting point' at the exit after immigration and customs and transfers you comfortably to your hotel (check-in after 1400 hrs). Enjoy a guided panoramic city tour of St. Petersburg (Seat in coach). St. Petersburg 16:00 5:00 This evening enjoy a guided panoramic city tour of the cultural capital of Russia. View the dreamy and picturesque River Neva; see the Alexander Nevsky Monastery and Nevsky Prospect lined with the marble palaces of Russian royalty. Soak in the rich history of St. Petersburg in the Church of the Spilled Blood, the Admiralty, St. Isaac's Cathedral and the Winter Palace. After dinner return to your hotel. Overnight in St. Petersburg. Meals - Included in your trip: Dinner Day 02 St. Petersburg Visit the Grand Palace at Peterhof and the Hermitage Museum (Seat in coach). St. Petersburg 09:00 5:00 This morning, drive down to Peterhof, an erstwhile residence of the Czars of yore. Visit the Grand Palace and be amazed with its fascinating and elaborate interiors. This world famous palace, fountain and park ensemble of Peterhof shines forth as a glittering landmark of Russia's aesthetic culture in the 18th and 19th centuries. Its wonderful parks, 176 fountains of various forms, majestic palaces, numerous gilded statues of ancient gods and heroes, paintings and works of art and culture make Peterhof a veritable gem of art, often called the 'Capital of Fountains,' unique in the world. Later visit the celebrated Hermitage Museum, one of the most important museums in the world. 2 Detailed Itinerary Day 03 St. Petersburg Enjoy a visit to the Peter and Paul fortress and Saint Isaac's Cathedral followed by a boat ride along the canals of St. Petersburg (Seat in coach). St. Petersburg 09:00 12:00 This morning proceed to see the Peter and Paul fortress. Established in 1703 by Peter the Great, the Peter and Paul Fortress has held some highprofile criminals in its prison cells, including 'Crime and Punishment' author Fyodor Dostoevsky and Lenin's right-hand man, Leon Trotsky. The fortress is also home to the famous Cathedral of St Peter and Paul, dating back to The cathedral's majestic bell tower and its flying angel figurine exemplify the city's architectural splendour. We then drive to the St. Isaac Cathedral which was originally the city's main church and the largest cathedral in Russia. It was built between 1818 and 1858, by the French - born architect Auguste Montferrand, to be one of the most impressive landmarks of Russian Imperial capital. One hundred and eighty years later, the gilded dome of St. Isaac's still dominates the skyline of St. Petersburg. This evening, enjoy a boat ride along the canals of St. Petersburg from where you can view the city's grand neoclassical architecture. Overnight in St. Petersburg. Day 04 St. Petersburg - Moscow This morning, proceed to the train station in St. Petersburg. Travel from St. Petersburg to Moscow by the high-speed Sapsan train. 3 Detailed Itinerary Day 05 Moscow Enjoy a guided panoramic city tour of Moscow followed by a visit to the Kremlin, Arbat Street and the Russian Circus (Seat in coach). Moscow 08:30 14:30 This morning, proceed on a guided panoramic city tour of Moscow, which includes a visit to the iconic Red Square and the stunning St. Basil's Cathedral with its colourful onion-shaped domes. Later, depart for the Kremlin, the 'walled fortress' of Russia that holds much of its history, politics and religion. The walls, originally of white stone, were rebuilt in the late 15th century, in their distinctive red brick. Today, the Kremlin houses four cathedrals, three palaces and two museums and is the official residence of the Russian President. It holds many treasures of the former Czars. What was once the Kremlin's Armoury Chamber, has been made into a museum of sorts. Later, stroll down Arbat Street, now an extensive and enthralling pedestrian walkway, filled with interesting shops and restaurants. In the evening, enjoy the world famous Russian Circus. After dinner, return to your hotel. Overnight in Moscow. Day 06 Moscow Enjoy an army tank ride (Seat in coach). Moscow 09:00 12:00 Russia is known worldwide for its military prowess. On this tour you have a chance to experience it firsthand. The tour starts early morning as we drive about 80 km away from the city into a socially made terrain to experience the prowess of the vehicle. On arrival at the range, one needs to change into combat uniform and be ready for the action. We then board the tanks in groups along with the Russian instructor who after explaining about the machine takes you on a minutes ride atop the tanks, crossing hilly terrain, jumping trough marshes, beating the shrubs, swivelling the tank all along. The ride with its bumps and jumps is a lifetime experience to feel the real action. Upon disembarkation, we proceed for a demonstration of the famed AK47, its disassembly, cleaning and assembly all in far less than a minute!!
