27 Day 5 - City Tour 2 nd stop The Singapore Flyer Up next, guests will be taken to the tallest observation wheel in the world. Built over a three-story terminal building which houses shops, bars and restaurants, the Singapore Flyer offers broad views of Singapore s city centre and beyond including Malaysia and even Indonesia. A complete rotation takes about 30 minutes. This languid pace provides ample time for guests to take in the sights and even pose for pictures. Onboard the Singapore Flyer flight, it would provide guests with a beautiful city skyline of Singapore and its newly developed area - Marina Bay and lending scenic views of the Marina Bay Sands, Gardens By the bay and the surrounding development, it would provide guests a modern take of Singapore latest city developments.

CHINATOWN - In the heart of Chinatown, where the hand of conservation has generously turned old shophouse facades into the brilliance of its glorious past, experience the diversity and colours as you browse around the enclave and explore on foot, observing age-old customs and architecture typical of a bygone era. Learn about chinese calligraphy with our Master Calligrapher! LITTLE INDIA - The focal point for the Indian community here. Weave your way through the colorful streets of Little India to seek out the spices and various curry bases. Unearth the significance of the fragrant jasmine garlands to the Hindus, and try your hands on the traditional art form of jasmine garland weaving. Then decipher the intricacies of the sari (a traditional Indian dress) for yourself and learn why the sari is often described as the apparel that covers all yet reveals all. ARAB STREET - Neighboring Kampong Glam, also known by the name of its main thoroughfare Arab Street, was where Singapore's Arab traders settled in the founding days of the colony, and was also the part of town allocated to the Malays when Raffles drew up his town plan. Built in 1840, it was once known as "Rumah Bendahara" or Chief Minister's House. The mansion was once home of Tengku Mahmud, the apparent heir to the Sultan's throne. The restaurant is an iconic Malay-theme restaurant offering halal-certified authentic Malay cuisine in an exclusive ambiance. Be fascinated by the Malay culture within a heritage setting, paired with excellent food and unsurpassed service. It is a place where guests always know they will get the best of Malay hospitality and gastronomy. 33 Kuala Lumpur Basics TIME GMT + 8 hours US Eastern Standard Time + 13 hours ENTRY FORMALITIES All visitors must possess a valid passport or other internationally recognized document with a minimum validity period of six months beyond the period of intended stay. Visa requirement varies according to traveller s origin country. For further information, please check with the nearest Malaysian diplomatic mission or Tourism Malaysia office. All foreign visitors entering Malaysia are required to fill in immigration embarkation cards when they enter at all entry point. Travellers carrying more than US$10,000 (RM34,000) must make a declaration to the Customs Department at all airports and seaports on entering or leaving Malaysia. AIRPORT ( KUALA LUMPUR INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT ) The journey from the world-class airport Kuala Lumpur International Airport to the city centre is approximately 1 hour. Alternative and fastest mode is via the KLIA Express, the non-stop journey between KL Sentral and KLIA that takes only 28 minutes. LANGUAGE Bahasa Malaysia is the national language, although English is widely spoken. Other languages used are Mandarin (Chinese) and Tamil. CLIMATE Malaysia enjoys a tropical climate with plenty of sunshine throughout the year. Temperatures typically range from 70 to 90 ー F (22 ー C to 33 ー C) and cooler in the highlands. With the occurrence of the annual southwest (April to October) and northeast (October to February) monsoons, the average rate of annual rainfall is high: 100 inches (250cm). Much of the rainfall is concentrated in the late afternoons. Humidity is high throughout the year. WHAT TO WEAR Light and cool comfortable clothing in the day. A jacket is suitable for evening dining in air-conditioned restaurants. 10/9/

34 Kuala Lumpur Basics BUSINESS HOURS The banking hours are: ~ Monday to Friday : 0930hrs 1530hrs ~ Close on Saturday, Sunday and Public Holiday ~ Shops are generally open from 1000hrs to 2200hrs on Monday to Sunday ELECTRICITY 220 / 250 Volts / 50 cycles AC current / 3 pin British plug. Currency: The Ringgit (RM) is the Malaysian currency. Money and travellers cheques can be exchanged at banks and moneychangers. Major credit cards are accepted in hotels and department stores. Cash however, is required in the local markets. CURRENT TAXES AND SERVICE CHARGES The Malaysian Government levies taxes on accommodation, beverages, car rental and other services. Pacific World Destination East companies are not responsible for tax rate revisions by the Government and reserves the right to change all quotations and billings to reflect this change with immediate effect without the need to inform the contracting party. In Malaysia, current service charge is 10% and government tax is 6%. In proposals submitted, all rates are NETT in Malaysian Ringgit (RM) and non-commissionable (unless mentioned otherwise). TIPPING Most hotels and restaurants impose a 10% service charge in their bills, so tipping is often not necessary. GST Goods and Services Tax (GST) will be implemented in Malaysia in soon. Pacific World reserves the right to review our rates to include the impact into our pricing should the implementation of GST takes place. 10/9/

35 Singapore Basics Location The island of Singapore lies about 85 miles (137 km) north of the Equator. It is separated from Peninsular Malaysia by the Straits of Johor in the north, and from the Indonesian Riau islands by the Straits of Singapore in the south. The main island of Singapore is about 26 miles (42 km) from east to west and 14 miles (23 km) from north to south. Population Singapore s population is about 4 million. While predominantly Chinese (about 76%), it has substantial minorities of Malays (14%), Indians (about 8%) and Eurasians (2%). Total : over 5 million, and 3.7 million are Singaporeans and PRs. Size Total land area is 250 square miles (647.5 square KM) with an additional 63 smaller islands. Money Matters The monetary unit of Singapore is the Singapore Dollar. Each dollar is divided into 100 cents. Notes - $2, $5, $10, $20, $50, $100, $500, $1,000. Coins - 5,10, 20, 50 and $1. 24-hour automated teller machines can be found throughout Singapore. Change bureaus are available at the airport and in the city. 35

36 Singapore Basics Language Malay, Mandarin, Tamil and English are Singapore's official languages. The national language is Malay; however, virtually every Singaporean speaks English. Religion Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam and Taoism are the major religions practised. Attire Casual attire in the form of loose and light summer clothing, preferably natural fabrics, and low-heeled walking shoes are recommended for most daytime activities. No Photography Rule Since restaurants, shopping malls, event venues are private properties, not public, owners are entitled to forbid photography. Electricity The electric current is generally 220/240V AC, 50 Hz, 3-pin British plug. Hotels usually have adapters for V AC, 60Hz equipment. Government A republic headed by a Prime Minister who is supported by an elected parliament. Customs Clearance Visitors may bring in free of duty 1 litre liquor and 1 litre wine, a reasonable amount of cosmetics. No duty free allowances for cigarettes. Entry Formalities Visitors visiting Singapore must have passports valid for six months from the time of their arrival. Visas are not required for stays of up to two weeks for Commonwealth citizens, British passport holders and citizens of the Republic of Ireland. Please check with your nearest Singapore Embassy. 36

Singapore Changi Airport (Terminals 1, 2 and 3) Flights operating out of Terminal 3 **Air Canada, China Eastern Airlines, **EgyptAir, Jet Airways, **LOT Polish Airines, Qatar Airways, **Singapore Airlines, **South African Airways, **US Airways, United Airlines and **Virgin Atlantic Airways Flights operating out of Terminal 2 Air India, Air India Express, All Nippon, Asiana Airlines, Etihad Airways, Korean Air, Lufthansa, Malaysia Airlines, Philippine Airlines, Royal Brunei, Shenzhen Airlines, SilkAir and Sriwijaya Air All other airlines operate out of Terminal 1 Note: **These airlines operate flights out of both Terminal 2 as well as Terminal 3. Arrival/departure flight location will only be known 2 hours before the scheduled arrival/departure time. Check-in Times 2 hours for international flights and 1 hour for flights to West Malaysia. Time Zone Singapore is 12 hours ahead of US Eastern Daylight Time (EDT); 13 hours ahead of US Central Daylight Time (EST) and 8 hours ahead of Greenwich Meridian Time (GMT). Health Medical Care in Singapore is exceptional. No vaccinations are required when visiting Singapore. 37
