2 1. MEETING DATES AND VENUE 1.1. REGISTRATION 2.1. Online Registration All delegates are requested to register online at from 11 January Online registration will be closed on 18 February An acknowledgement will be sent automatically to delegates after the online registration has been completed. Any enquiries regarding the registration, including technical support, or if you have missed the online registration deadline, please contact the secretariat at register@rurallink.gov.my. An acknowledgement letter is required for online registration for foreign media. In this regard, foreign media agency which has been assigned for the 19 th AARDO Conference must obtain an acknowledgement letter from the respective ministries of AARDO member countries. In the event where flight s information has not been completed, the details must be updated in the system no later than 18 February

3 2.2. Official Pass Delegates are advised to pick up their official pass and meeting kit at the Registration Desk. Delegates will need to provide proof of identity when collecting the official pass, such as passport or any other suitable photo identification to the registration desk. The official pass should be worn at all times and will be required for entry to all venues and meeting areas. Personal expenses such as local and international telephone calls, laundry, mini bar, etc. will be charged to your personal account Accommodation for other delegates is not provided. 13 4. TRANSPORTATION 4.1. General Information One (1) Minister from each AARDO member countries, AARDO President and one (1) representative from AARDO Associate Member will be provided with a chauffeur-driven car from 28 February to 4 March One (1) representative from each AARDO Executive Committee member countries and Executive Committee President, as per Annex I, and AARDO Secretary-General will be provided with a chauffeur-driven car from 25 February to 5 March Airport Shuttle will be provided for other delegates on the day of arrival (from the airport to the listed hotel) and on the day of departure (from the listed hotel to the airport). Please bring a copy of your registration confirmation for boarding Alternatively, delegates can travel to their respective hotel via taxi, at own expense, from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) or Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA 2). Kindly confirm your attendance using the online registration form The objective of the field trip is to introduce the Homestay Programme where it provides additional income for the locals and spurs other related economic activities. 16 8. ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE ARRANGEMENTS 8.1. VIP facilities at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA 2) will be extended to the AARDO Ministers from each of AARDO member countries and representative from each AARDO Executive Committee member countries The officials from Ministry of Rural and Regional Development, Malaysia and Liaison Officers will assist the AARDO Ministers and representatives from each AARDO Executive Committee as well as AARDO Secretary- General upon arrival and departure at KLIA or KLIA 2. Other delegates will have to go through the normal channel at KLIA or KLIA Luggage Tags: Luggage tags will be ed to facilitate luggage identification and priority clearance for AARDO Ministers, representatives from each AARDO Executive Committee and AARDO Secretariat. 9. CUSTOMS AND IMMIGRATION CLEARANCE 9.1. Protocol and Liaison Officers: The Protocol and Liaison Officers team will assist customs and immigration clearance for AARDO Ministers, representative of AARDO Executive Committee and AARDO Secretary-General. Other delegates should follow the internal airport signage towards immigration counter. Delegates are encouraged to bring a copy of the invitation letter to ease the process. 10. 18 Further information on evisa can be obtained at To apply for evisa, please visit Yellow Fever Vaccinations A Yellow Fever vaccination certificate is required from all visitors or delegates (Malaysians and Foreigners) coming from or going to/ through yellow fever endemic countries (As stated in International Health Regulations 2005 and Prevention and Control of Infectious Disease Act 1988). A vaccination certificate against Yellow Fever disease will be valid if the vaccination is taken at least 10 days prior to the date of arrival to Malaysia. Yellow fever vaccination is also required for travellers having transited more than 12 hours through the airport of a country with risk of yellow fever transmission. The period of validity of an international certificate of vaccination against Yellow Fever will be lifelong*, beginning 10 days after the date of vaccination. Note: *Lifelong in the context of international travel, the amendment to Annex 7 IHR 2005 changes the period of validity of the related international certificate of vaccination against yellow fever, and the protection provided by vaccination against yellow fever infectious under the IHR (2005), from ten (10) years to the life of the person (traveller) vaccinated. SECURITY Security checks will be conducted at the meeting venue throughout the duration of the 19 th AARDO Conference and 69th and 70th Sessions of Executive Committee. DRESS CODE The dress code for the meeting is business attire. National Dress is recommended for the Dinner hosted by the Honourable Minister of Rural and Regional Development Malaysia, which will be held on 1 March Dress code for Welcoming Dinner on 27 February 2018 is Smart Casual Dress code for field trip on 3 March 2018 is Smart Casual. 13. MEDICAL SERVICES Medical team will be on standby at the meeting venue. USEFUL INFORMATION Geography Malaysia is situated in central of South-East Asia, bordering Thailand in the north, with Singapore to the south and Indonesia to south and west. Malaysia covers an area of about 330,803 square kilometres, consisting of Peninsular Malaysia and the Island of Borneo Religion Islam is the official religion of Malaysia. Common dishes are Nasi Lemak, Roti Canai and Char Kuey Tiaw Kuala Lumpur Kuala Lumpur, officially the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur or called simply as KL by local peoples is the national capital as well as its largest city in Malaysia.
