2 TOUR NAME: Culinary + Travel - Salvador da Bahia TOUR DAYS: 8 days / 7 nights DATE: October 16 23, 2018 TOUR ITINERARY: Tuesday, October 16 Arrive Salvador da Bahia, go through customs and board arranged transportation for Bahia Othon Hotel. I will be there meeting you at the airport. Check into hotel and later approximately at 7 pm board arranged round trip transportation for the Churrascaria restaurant Sal E Brasa. After dinner we will return to the hotel. Wednesday, October 17 - Board arranged transportaion from hotel lobby for Afro Brazilian tour at 9 am. Lunch at Zanzibar Restaurant. Return to hotel approximately 4 pm. The rest of afternoon is on your own. Later that evening get picked up for 7 pm dinner at UaUa restaurant. After dinner return to hotel. Thursday October 18 Itaparica Island Schooner Cruise with lunch. This is an all-day cruise so upon the return the evening is on your own. Friday, October 19 Day free on your own. Later that evening we will be picked up for dinner at Paraiso Tropical Restaurant. Saturday, October 20 Samba school. Later that evening get picked up from lobby for dinner at Ulisses and Balet Folclorico da Bahia show. Sunday, October 21 Day completely on your own for shopping. Optional cooking class. 4 AFRICAN ORIENTED CITY TOUR Mon. Fri. (museum closes on Saturday & Sunday) Duration: 3 hours (morning at 09:00am afternoon at 02:00pm) We trace the African roots of Salvador on a city tour which combines the newer, modern section and the older Historical Center of Salvador, the Pelourinho area, so called after the pillory which stood in the main square, in front of the central slave market. This area is now a symbol of the Black Movement in Bahia and the home of many places of interest to those wishing to trace this underlying African influence. We visit the Afro-Brazilian Museum which traces the West African origins of the city and see the superb wooden sculpted panels of the Orixas by Salvador s most celebrated artist, Carybe. We also visit the Sociedade Protectora dos Desvalidos (The Protective Society For The Destitute), founded in 1832, 56 years before the eventual abolition of slavery. We visit the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary, the famous Black church, built with meager resources over a period of almost 100 years. Page 4 of 11

5 Balet Folclorico Da Bahia Balé Folclórico Da Bahia (BFB), the only professional folk dance company in Brazil, was formed in 1988 by Walson Botelho and Ninho Reis and has achieved considerable success in its short history. Under the artistic direction of José Carlos Arandiba, the company s many national and international tours have earned it a prestigious reputation throughout the country and abroad that is reflected in the response of the public and the critics. The 38-member troupe of dancers, musicians, and singers performs a repertory based on the "Bahian" folkloric dances of African origin and includes slave dances, capoeira (a form of martial arts), samba, and those that celebrate Carnival. 6 Cooking Class (Optional) Our cooking class journey starts with a visit to the Feira de São Joaquim, the largest and most traditional open air market in Salvador, where we will pick up the ingredients to be used in our cooking class. The items purchased at the market are all natural and fresh and include tropical fruits and vegetables, greens, grains and spices. A profusion of colors and flavors await your eyes and we will fill our grocery bags during this tour. Now that we have gathered all the ingredients we will head to Ajeum da Diaspora restaurant owned by Angelica Moreira where participants will be guided by local chefs whose expertise is traditional Afro-Brazilian soul food cooking with delicious homemade flavor. While preparing the dishes, we ll learn fascinating details about Bahian cuisine history and cultural traditions, in a delightfully relaxed atmosphere. Finally, it s time to taste the food. 7 GENERAL TRAVEL AGREEMENT 1. Payment For Travel Services. Each traveler will pay compensation to Excellence In Travel Inc. for the Services according to rates outlined above. All monies for this service are to be paid in full by August 1, Bookings made within 45 days of departure are subject to immediate nonrefundable payment in full. 2. Group Size. Group must consist of a minimum of 20 people If group size falls below 20 people all rates will have to be reconsidered. 3. Deposit and Full Payment. A deposit of $ per person is required to confirm reservations. 4. Term/Termination. This agreement shall terminate automatically upon completion of attached services on October 24, Relationship of Parties. It is understood by the parties that Excellence In Travel Inc. is an independent contractor with respect to V Sheree Publishing, and not an employee of Cuisine Noir. Cuisine Noir will not provide fringe benefits, including health insurance benefits, paid vacation, or any other employee benefit, for the benefit of Excellence In Travel Inc. 6. Cancellations & Refunds. All airline tickets, if issued by Excellence In Travel, are completely nonrefundable. In the event a tour is cancelled by Cuisine Noir by February 1, 2018 for any reason whatsoever, including insufficient number of participants, Excellence In Travel Inc. shall have no responsibility beyond the refund of all deposit monies paid by the tour participants minus a $50.00 processing fee plus any penalties required by each travel vendor (hotels, tours, etc.) 7. Tour Changes. Excellence In Travel Inc. and Cuisine Noir have the right to change the dates, times and rates, when such changes are compelled by circumstances beyond its control. Excellence In Travel Inc. and its agents reserve the right to cancel a tour or any portion thereof, or refuse to accept or retain any person as a member of a tour any time, or make changes in the published itinerary, when in its judgement, conditions warrant or if it seems necessary for the comfort, convenience or safety of the participants. 8. Departure Gateways. There will be 3 gateways San Francisco, Miami, and JFK. Airfares upon request, nonrefundable and have to be paid in full. 11. Returned Checks. Returned Checks will be assessed a $ per returned check fee. 12. Excellence In Travel Responsibility. Excellence In Travel will act only as agents for the passenger in making arrangements for hotels, transportation, restaurants, or any other service and does not assume any liability whatsoever for any injury, damage, death, loss, accident or delay to person or property due to an act of negligence of or default of, any hotel, carrier, restaurant, company or person rendering any of the services included in the tour, or by an act of God. 13. Travel Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption Insurance. Travel Insurance available upon request up to 4 days before departure. 14. Required Documentation. A passport and Brazilian visa are required to travel to Brazil. All visas can be applied for online at least 2 months before departure date.
