2 AISI: TO HARMONIZE TOGETHER AISI was born in 2003 as a non-profit-organisation with Cesare Carcano as President and a Board of three members. AISI's vision is to create a strong structure of knowledge which allows its members to operate in a more efficient and profitable way. The more members belong to the association, the more important their presence on the Italian and international market will be. THE ASSOCIATION'S AIM AISI Association of Italian Self Storage Operators is the only association representing and protecting all major Italian self storage operators. AISI: represents and defends the interests of its members and their relation to national and international institutions. protects the interests of its members with any economical, union or social matters they may be involved in. elaborates on technical, juridical, financial, commercial, and statutory matters related to self storage operations in order to support its members. promotes studies, research, debates and conferences on topics of general interest to then share its knowledge within Italy as well as abroad. Acting as voice of the Italian self storage industry, AISI aims at promoting the best practices and facilitating the development of the sector. AISI is also a FEDESSA member. FEDESSA, the Federation of European Self Storage Associations was formed in March 2004 as response to a fast growing self storage market in Europe. The federation consists of 14 self storage associations across Europe and today FEDESSA represents 1400 self storage facilities which is over 70% of the self storage facilities in Europe, including all the major operators. Our current members are the self storage associations of Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Spain, The Netherlands, Czech Republic and the United Kingdom. We are also in close contact with operators or potential operators in Austria, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Poland, Portugal, Romania and Russia. AISI
