Sit back and relax as we travel south through Illinois all the way to the very southern tip where we cross the Mississippi River into Missouri. Here we stop for dinner at the famous Lambert s Café - home of the thrown rolls. We continue into Arkansas before re-crossing the Mississippi River and then arriving in Memphis and our hotel the Guest House at Graceland. It is the perfect place to stay when enjoying Graceland and everything that Memphis has to offer. Thurs., Nov. 14 MEMPHIS This morning we begin with a visit to Sun Studios. It has been said that "If music was a religion, then Memphis would be Jerusalem and Sun Studio its most holy shrine." In 1954, an unknown Elvis Presley grabbed a mic and sang his heart out making Sun the most famous recording studio in the world. Take a guided tour through the birthplace of rock 'n' roll where you will experience outtakes from recording sessions, touch Elvis' first microphone and hear the real story of the studio that launched the careers of not only Elvis Presley, but Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, B.B. King, Roy Orbison, Charlie Rich, and many others that signed with the Sun label. Next our sightseeing tour of Memphis will show us our favorite Memphis sights, including Victorian Village, Orpheum Theater, Gibson Guitar Factory, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, historic Cotton Row, Court Square, the heart of 19th century Memphis and fabulous Beale Street. This afternoon, we visit the Memphis Music Hall of Fame which honors the Memphis musicians for their lifetime achievements in music. Here we will learn about some of the great musicians of all time. This afternoon will come to a close as we take part in the famous Peabody Hotel Duck March. Each day for nearly one hundred years, a group of ducks have left their penthouse at Memphis Peabody Hotel and waddled down a red carpet to spend the day playing in the lobby fountain. (B,D) Fri., Nov. 15 MEMPHIS Today we explore Elvis Presley s home, Graceland Mansion. Fully immerse yourself in Elvis' life and career like never before, as you experience Elvis' roots, his influences and his artistry. We begin with a tour of Graceland Mansion with an Expert Tour guide. Then you will have time to see Elvis s customs jets, his Automobile museum and the Elvis Discovery Exhibits. 3 Sat., Nov. 16 MEMPHIS After breakfast we visit the Civil Rights Museum Built around the former Lorraine Motel, where civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated in 1968, the National Civil Rights Museum immediately emits its cultural and historical significance to all who visit. From the Civil Rights Museum, we visit the Bass Pro Shops at the Pyramid. It's a new national destination experience, located inside the massive iconic Pyramid. This new, immersive retail experience offers something for everyone from the serious outdoor enthusiast to families looking to have fun. It is so much more than just a store. Next, we focus on the Pink Palace Museum. Covering a diverse array of subjects ranging from archaeology to chemistry, the Pink Palace Museum serves as the mid-south's major science and historical museum. This evening we return to Beale Street where we enjoy dinner and a fantastic Elvis Show at Alfreds on Beale Street. (B,D) Sun., Nov. 17 MEMPHIS/HARTFORD AREA After a final breakfast at the Guest House we depart Memphis and begin our drive north. We travel from the southern tip of Illinois along Interstate 57 to the Chicagoland before crossing into Wisconsin arriving in the Hartford area. YOU WILL BE INVOICED FOR THE BALANCE OF PAYMENT DUE ON OR BEFORE Friday, August 30, 2019 ARRANGEMENTS: The tour price is based on a minimum participation of 30 persons and includes planning, handling and operational charges and is quoted on tariff rates in effect as of November 28, In the event of a marked increase or decrease in tariff rates, the cost is subject to revision. TOUR PRICING: This is a package tour in which the tour costs have been combined in the most advantageous way. Should you wish to deviate from the tour package by changing your departure and/or return dates of travel, this will eliminate the advantages of the package tour price and special group fares. There will be a service charge of $100 per person for altering the tour itinerary. CANCELLATION: If after making your initial deposit you find it necessary to cancel from the tour for any reason, there will be a charge of $100 per person up to 90 days prior to departure. For cancellation between 89 and 60 days prior to departure, there will be a cancellation charge of $300 per person. For cancellation within 59 days of departure, in addition to the $300 per person charge, there may be additional cancellation charges from the airline, hotel(s), or ground service companies up to the full value of your tour cost. The insurance includes: Trip Cancellation/ Interruption, Baggage Delay/Loss, Emergency Accident/Sickness Medical Expense, and Emergency Medical Evacuation. The premium for the plan is non-refundable after the free 14 day look back period and is based on a minimum participation of 10 travelers. InterTrav Corporation will do everything possible to avoid an increase in the tour cost. However, should increases occur in airfares, hotel prices, and/or coach transportation costs, they will be added to the tour cost and passengers will be notified accordingly. Should an increase in price occur, notifications will be sent to tour members in writing no later than 15 days prior to departure.
