Inspected/travel accommodation The accommodation listed in this section has been assessed to standards agreed by Visit Britain or the AA. Star ratings are awarded for hotels and diamond ratings for guest accommodation. The higher the rating awarded, the greater the level of service, quality and facilities. Another category, travel accommodation (branded accommodation usually situated next to main roads and motorways), is inspected, but not given a rating.
