5 5 The Project The 39-suite Signature Boutique hotel is located in a 19th century building in Manchester s tourist area of Castlefield opposite the Museum of Science & Industry. Signature Living will carry out the sympathetic renovation of the Grade-II listed building by connecting two properties to create a contemporary 100-cover restaurant and bar, as well as extensive internal improvements that combine old and new elements for a luxurious guest experience. The proposed 1bn St John development on the former site of Granada Television Studios will transform the area around Signature s Boutique hotel, making it one of the most fashionable in Manchester.
6 6 Why Manchester Manchester expects 80,000 new residents by 2033 Manchester was one of the world s first cities to go through the industrial revolution and today, it is the second largest economy in the UK. The city has the largest financial and professional services industry in Britain and a thriving tech sector that is boosting affluence in the area that is set to become one of the world s top 20 digital cities by There are four universities and 99,000 students in Manchester, many of whom stay in the city once they have graduated, which provides a sustainable and talented workforce. Manchester is one of the most affordable places to run a business, with overheads and costs as much as 40% lower than in London. Manchester has excellent transport links and is home to the UK s largest regional international airport, serving 200 destinations. There are three trains to London every hour with a journey time of just over 2-hours, making Manchester an ideal location for Signature s expansion.
